### 4/5 — Wonderful alternative drive hailing app for Filipino

*2023-02-05*

The one suggestion I would have is the way to input the address.

It would be nice to be able to enter name of place or address and not be forced to enter city and district (especially hard for foreigner)

I hope to see improvement on ỦI/UX but will continue to use it 💪

### 3/5 — The app crashes

*2020-12-17, version 3.5.3*

I think this needs to be updated. I was able to use this app once then when i tried using again it crashes. Already tried reinstalling but still the same. Hope this can be fixed. Am using an iphone.

### 4/5 — Good job!

*2020-01-06, version 3.1.11*

First time to use owto today, and glad that i was able to book in an instant, despite the rush hour. It would be best if maps/location can be more precise and visible though! Apart from that, driver was kind too.

### 4/5 — Reliable but can still use some improvements

*2020-01-05*

User interface could be better visually but it is still very intuitive and easy to use. Fast response after requesting for a driver.

### 4/5 — Mariia

*2020-01-01, version 3.1.11*

I hope you will have a much strong and sustained signal and app. I rarely was able to book a ride. Infact, this was my 3rd ride. I always ride and book for grab and i hate that. I always tried to book a ride from you, but, you always don’t have available drivers. I am in proj 4, hence, impossible not to be able to book for a ride. Please have a strong app with sharp signal, please?????

### 4/5 — OWTO App does not recognize Credit Card Payment

*2019-12-30, version 3.1.11*

The app does not allow users to pay via a previously registered card payment. For example, when payment via Mastercard is chosen, the booking automatically reverts to cash payment.

### 3/5 — Definitely way cheaper than leading competitor, but...

*2019-12-26, version 3.1.11*

I am glad to successfully book at first try! They don't have shared rides, but my fare was still 30Php cheaper compared to the leading competitor's shared "willing to wait" ride. Thats 100Php cheaper than the "car" option of competitor.

Driver didnt't cancel even if he's relatively far. I needed to instruct him a bit because pin points are not accurate. The driver understood my instructions easily. However, his car is poorly maintained: smells of cigar, has cigarette ashes on the seat and the floor. But he is polite and drives safely.

In conclusion:
Plus points for being cheaper, easy booking, and drivers not cancelling.

Points for improvement:
Please make pin points more accurate. And maybe a way to rate not just the app but also the driver so they could improve their services.

Thanks!

### 4/5 — First Timer

*2019-12-14, version 3.1.11*

Just booked my very first owto ride. It was pleasant and the driver was nice. No difference with Grab or Uber really, the only thing that set them apart was the price. Definitely cheaper by 100+ than Grab’s.

4 is my current rating mainly because I had some hard time booking. Most probably because of fewer drivers registered in Owto. I also noticed mostly of the cars are “hatchback” like wigo. No problem on that though, since I’m a solo rider most of the time. I just hope more and more use this app to get more rider and driver in it. Fair competition for a price perspective against Grab.

Keep it up Owto!!

### 4/5 — App is quirky

*2019-11-29, version 3.1.11*

Had my first ride it was pretty good. Some things I noticed though was I couldn’t find a booking the first time so I tried to rebook and it removed my first ride promo and it changed my payment option from card to cash.

App developers may need to work on state management but my experience was okay :)

### 3/5 — What happened, Angkas?

*2019-11-22, version 3.1.11*

I’m an avid user of Angkas since this app started. It’s very convenient and efficient ride during rush hour, but lately I’ve noticed that I find it hard to book a ride. The booking request just keeps loading. It’s like forever. huhu.. Hope you could fix this. :(

### 3/5 — Problem with maps and credit card payment

*2019-11-18*

Even if the pin is in a specific road it will automatically put in a different road name. I wish the developer can fix this asap. Even if the option for credit card payment is chosen it automatically revert to cash payment. Despite these inconvenience I still welcome owto as an alternative to grab. If you fix the map issue and the credit card issuers I would give you a solid 5

### 3/5 — Payment method issue

*2019-11-08, version 3.1.11*

Booked a trip from Makati to QC and it costed php 800. As usual, I selected my card as payment method. However, when the driver accepted the booking it was changed to cash payment. Another thing was that the driver was attending calls and messaging other people throughout the trip and even regarded me in their conversation saying that it was ok because I’m wearing eaephones and I can’t hear them (well, they were wrong and it was awkward for me). 😖 Other than those issues mentioned above, the app has a lot of potential. Hope they improve the app interface to be more user-friendly.

### 2/5 — Lots of Potential!!

*2019-10-31, version 3.1.2*

Points to commend:

-fair pricing. Even with the surge on, the price didn’t seem too crazy! A ride from Espana to Santa Mesa was at ₱280 compared to ₱380 that grab was quoting me.

-lots of drivers. Maybe it’s just for now because not a lot of people have been using owto but I always see a lot of cars at the booking page! :)

Points of improvement:

-Better gps service. Maybe link up with google maps or waze so it can recognize places more.

-provide carpooling service for people on the way! Take points from grabshare or wunder! :)

-allow messaging or calling within the app only and prevent both parties from seeing the phone number unless approved by the requestee first, in cases of emergency or left items.

Please please please improve your map/gps! I tired booking a ride from SM Megamall Building D but it kept redirecting me to Tomas Morato and crashing! :( I want to support OWTO drivers but the app makes it so difficult!

### 2/5 — after the update, i cant even pin a location without it crashing

*2019-10-30*

the app was trash to use to begin with, the update just made the app worse

### 2/5 — cant book

*2019-10-28*

please improve connectivity. It keeps on dropping.

### 3/5 — Good Alternative to other Ride Booking Apps

*2019-09-20, version 2.4.1*

Rates are fairly priced even during peak booking hours. It would be better if the app is more user friendly. Certain locations cannot be selected, can’t zoom in/zoom out/check the map with your fingers and still unable to mark places as part of your Favorites. Still have a lot to improve on in terms of app usage.

### 3/5 — Service can be improved. But getting there.

*2019-09-17, version 2.4.1*

Owto drivers are capable of doing their job, but it’s the app that needs to work on certain kinks, especially tracking the driver’s movement to the pickup point and the lack of a tracking link for a loved one/significant other to ensure that the rider ends up at the drop off point safely.

So far, there have been no issues with the drivers and/or their cars, but the software side and a more consistent booking could be better.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Your app is not your social media account

*2020-01-15, version 3.1.11*

Don't spam us with memes through the notifications. Create a social media account and post there instead. Your users don't need you trying so hard to become at par with Angkas' social media interaction. Keep the notifications clean and relevant to the user experience.

Another thing, the locations never seem accurate. I never actually had a chance to successfully book a ride. One reason is that I get worried the app would send the driver to the wrong address. When I thought the address was accurate, I never got any drivers. For the record, I've had around 4-5 different times in attempting to book a ride.

I am giving this a 1-star because I never got any value from the app. I had the app for a few weeks as an alternative ride-hailing app. I kept it on my phone thinking it would be better but the recent notifications lead me to believe that the app will get worse. I am removing and uninstalling this app until it becomes valuable.

I am hoping the product owner actually reads the reviews. Maybe some day what used to be bad will be improved/scrapped and I'll hear from people that Owto is one of the best ride-hailing apps out there.

### 1/5 — Cannot log in

*2019-08-23*

Downloaded the app, but cannot log in. Tried Facebook and mobile number (USA +1). Sometimes get an error about data connection (4 bars LTE Globe) but always goes back to login screen. Useless app.

### 1/5 — Very Buggy after the Recent Update

*2019-07-31, version 2.4.0*

This used to be an “okay” app. Now after the update it is full of bugs, can’t even get past the location page:
- search window is at the bottom;
- the window showing the list of search results cannot be seen fully since the keyboard is pushing the list upwards and the topmost results can’t be scrolled down;
- there are “favourites” which were never selected as favourites;
- searching for a location is now a hassle (it used to be straightforward before the update);
- there was an instance when instead of showing the pickup and drop-off points in the map, it showed TWO drop-off points;
- the searched results are sometimes, sometimes off by as far as 20 km;
- pinning the location manually (or auto-detect by GPS) sometimes works sometimes it doesn’t: it will show that the pickup location has been set but there are times when there is no option to select a drop-off point.

Hopefully these would be fixed, soon. I can’t even book a ride now.

### 1/5 — Needs Improvement

*2019-07-12, version 2.2.2*

We booked our first ever ride on OWTO today, unfortunately it did not turn out as good as we expected. When our driver was near our pick up place, the app crashed and cancelled the booking. We waited half an hour for that booking but it all turned to nothing because of the poor foundation of the application. I contacted the driver and told him that I did not cancel and that owto was at fault and the driver agreed and told us that he will still pick us up. We thought he will be there fast but turns out that we were waiting for nothing. He made us wait for an hour and kept saying earlier when he called my number that he was “near” and “on the way”. After an hour of waiting and multiple text messages, he still did not respond (no updates from him even though he told us he will pick us up!) resorting for us to use the best of the rest alternative which is GRAB. Although expensive it was easier to book rides and their application system was extravagant. After booking Grab, an unregistered number called me saying he was from Owto but he was not the driver i booked a while ago. He said that our booking popped up in Owto WITHOUT us booking for it anymore. Not only does it affect us riders but it also affect drivers who came from far places just to try and fetch us. Overall, Owto for me is a #NeverAgain.

### 1/5 — Good alternative but needs a lot of work

*2019-05-31, version 2.2.1*

This app is a good alternative only, and only if it works like it is expected to. Making a booking and then waiting indefinitely with no way to cancel or pause is a sheer waste of time, effort and patience.

Has happened with me a few times that I terminated the application and went ahead with alternate provider but, I actually got a message from a driver 30 minutes post reaching my intended destination.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2018-08-27*

The worst design and functionality ever. If I could give it zero stars I would. These guys are promising too many functionalities but users can’t even log in without experiencing errors. And when they do log in, it takes a very very long time to get a ride. Plus the app charges you even if you haven’t had a ride yet. It’s a piece of crap. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in!

*2018-07-05*

Can’t log in. Even if I entered the verification code still unable for me to verify! Why?!!!

### 1/5 — Unable to register

*2018-05-20*

Cant register

### 2/5 — Credit Card transaction should be fixed

*2019-12-21*

I get rides fast with this app, but if you want to use your credit card, just use a different app. Whenever i want to use credit card, it always ends up as a cash transaction in the end. If this were to be fixed, this app would be amazing.

### 2/5 — Not good

*2019-11-01, version 3.1.2*

I used to love Owto for the pricing and I really didn’t mind the UI that time cz you were starting. I think yung UI change led to all these iOS crashes and wrong yung location na pinipili 🤔 I can’t even favorite my house in peace (naka favorite sha before I reinstalled, after I reinstalled I tried favoriting it again to no avail) so am disappointed cz the app was once useful.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Affordable and Safe Ride

*2020-11-26, version 3.5.3*

First time to try this app, and the experience is good. Driver is experienced and is with Grab too. The app itself can be more improved, and should have tracker for location of booked ride. Hoping to have more drivers for faster booking.

### 5/5 — I’m glad we have an alternative

*2020-11-08, version 3.5.3*

So nice to have an option. Hope you can develop your app more. Like, location of the driver and number of minutes before he arrives at the destination. I know it’ll eventually work out. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Excellent service

*2020-10-30, version 3.5.3*

This is my first time to use the app and I can say that the experience is good from booking to the ride itself. The pricing is fair. With regards to the app, no live map view of the driver location and limited payment options.

### 5/5 — The app’s getting better!

*2020-01-18, version 3.1.11*

Used owto early last year and it wasn’t much. Glad to see the app having come far from where it was before. Keep up the low rates and fast bookings!

### 5/5 — Great second option

*2020-01-16, version 3.1.11*

The main problem of this is the lack of drivers, but once you get your booking, the drivers are friendly, patriotic, and knowledgeable about routes. Hopefully more drivers and riders start using this platform.

### 5/5 — Owto Saves The Day

*2019-12-13, version 3.1.11*

Thank you to Owto. We finally able to go home after waiting for almost two hours to book a Grab and wait for cab. Jesus! Please improve platform/app for convenience. Will use Owto more now.

### 5/5 — Great Alternative for Grab

*2019-12-08, version 3.1.11*

App is not yet perfect but it does it’s job. Been having a hard time booking for Grab and their prices are usually sky high so I looked for an alternative. Fortunately, I discovered this app which is way cheaper than it’s competitor. Tried using the app twice so far and never had a problem. The only downside is having to wait for the driver who is usually 20 mins away and sometimes the app seems buggy on how many minutes away the driver is. But there’s a way to message the driver anyway to confirm his location.

### 5/5 — Excellent Competitor for Grab

*2019-12-07, version 3.1.11*

Owto has come a long way. Before the app would crash when booking, but they have since made improvements. I haven’t experienced any crashes recently. Plus, I noticed there are more drivers. I love how reasonably priced their services are—they definitely are serious competition for Grab.

### 5/5 — First time user

*2019-11-16, version 3.1.11*

First time to use owto today as i had a hard time booking a car via grab. Was able to book a montero and it was way cheaper than grab

### 5/5 — Cheaper than Grab and Very kind drivers

*2019-10-06, version 3.0.11*

Owto is usually cheaper than Grab so I’m using Owto more and more.

They also have very kind drivers.

The GPS and app interface still need improvement. Also, they don’t have two drop-off option yet (but I hope they introduce this soon).
