### 2/5 — Needs work...like actual amounts in grams

*2023-03-19, version 1.0.1*

This isn't the worst app ever, but it's not the best. The color coded system is cute, but without actual oxalate amounts its use is limited. And those amounts should be in grams, like every other oxalate list out there.

So yeah it's useful if you just want to see if a food is high medium or low, but let's say you've eaten a high ish oxalate meal earlier and want to have an idea of what foods you can "afford" to eat later. Without actual numbers this app won't really help you much.

### 2/5 — Static Information

*2021-06-17, version 1.0.1*

While I like the simplicity of the app in choosing from a wide selection of foods - the app doesn’t allow for user input. The foods are colour coded without oxalate quantities. I found the app to be boring.

### 2/5 — Measurements but not content

*2021-05-16, version 1.0.1*

I just downloaded the app and like the color coding system but do not like that I don’t know the mg of oxalates per serving and even the definition of low, high , very high. I would also like to see references as to where the values came from

### 3/5 — Missing things

*2021-01-31, version 1.0.1*

Needs better information on what the numbers mean.
Needs to be able to sum across a meal, and/or a day of meals.
Needs to be able to only show foods below a given threshold of oxalate, like Medium and below.

### 1/5 — Very outdated information

*2020-09-23, version 1.0.1*

I first got this app because it was free and I was new to a low Oxalate diet. After doing some research myself I found that the foods listed as bad in this app are not accurate (for one, research shows that berries are not high in oxalates). You get what you pay for.

I wouldn’t recommend this app. I bought another app (OxiPur) which is constantly updated and more detailed.

### 3/5 — Inconsistent

*2020-07-31, version 1.0.1*

There are often duplicate records for the same food with different levels of oxalates. E.g. strawberries

### 1/5 — Found a hole in data in one minute

*2020-02-19, version 1.0.1*

Many oxalate levels are seriously off from university of chicago’s kidney stone site.

### 2/5 — Fruit

*2018-09-14, version 1.0.1*

Why aren’t peaches and plums included

### 1/5 — But...

*2018-08-19, version 1.0.1*

If the numbers and info were correct it’d be great I’m sure.

### 1/5 — It won’t let you add your own foods.

*2018-04-09, version 1.0.1*

I like to cook a lot and go to smaller restaurants. This app does not allow for the addition of food that isn’t listed in the app. Many common foods such as biscuits and lunch meat aren’t listed in the app. It makes the app almost pointless to the point I’ve considered writing my own app just to allow for there to be something better on the market. This app was suggested by my urologist after I got a kidney stone and I just wish there was a better app out there.

### 1/5 — JB

*2017-10-30, version 1.0.1*

This app has me frustrated ! Why aren’t the foods listed with the value in ml? If your trying to stay at 50 what good does this app do if you can’t add up the count ?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Inaccurate

*2024-12-28, version 1.0.1*

Oxalates are shown in this app as measured in grams. Milligrams might be accurate, but many of the values are not correct

I loved using this app but it no longer works on newer phones

### 1/5 — Confusing and useless

*2023-11-01, version 1.0.1*

This app has multiple items listed contrary to values on other lists. Not a lot of items. It made it even harder for me to figure out what was good or not

### 1/5 — App Not Update for IOS

*2023-07-19, version 1.0.1*

Get with the program update yourapp

### 1/5 — Not supported on iOS 15.6.1, unable to contact developer

*2022-09-02, version 1.0.1*

App states that it won’t install on iOS 15.6.1. Unable to contact the developer to advise them of this.

### 1/5 — No sources cited

*2022-07-03, version 1.0.1*

The author does not specify values nor sources.

### 1/5 — Needs an update

*2021-10-16, version 1.0.1*

I check everyday my oxalate intake and this app can not be used with iOS 15. Says needs to be updated to work with current iOS version. Last update this app received was 5 years ago. RIP to the developer ✝️ 🙏

### 1/5 — Search function is maddening

*2021-07-17, version 1.0.1*

Search function acts as though you’ve hit the search button every time you take more than a half second to enter the next character. It’s so frustrating! Also, note to developer: not all doctors are men.

### 1/5 — Not comprehensive

*2020-11-29, version 1.0.1*

Almost everything I tried to look up didn’t exist in the app. Not helpful for me. I’m deleting it today.

### 5/5 — iOS Update 18.5

*2025-07-24, version 1.0.1*

Any chance this can be updated to run on iOS 18.5? Great app I would love an update for compatibility.

### 5/5 — Update

*2025-02-03, version 1.0.1*

I love this app, but now that I have bought a new IPhone (15 Pro Max) this app doesn’t work anymore! Can you please update it, so I can install it again. It is so so handy to refer to multiple times a week.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2024-05-24, version 1.0.1*

I like the app, too bad they’re getting rid of this app or at least trying too. It was also free.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2019-05-08, version 1.0.1*

Great tool, thanks. Can you please confirm you mean Madura instead of Mandura of Australia teas in your listing. Thanks

### 5/5 — Very Helpful App

*2019-01-15, version 1.0.1*

I was at a loss when my husband was instructed to follow a low oxalate diet after a bout of kidney stones since this info is not on nutrition labels. While this doesn’t include detailed info, recipes, or every food product by name or brand, it’s a great free tool for food shopping and for supplying an answer for hubs when he asks, “Can I eat that?”

### 5/5 — Super Convenient!

*2018-04-20, version 1.0.1*

This app is easier to use and, more importantly, more accurate than the other low-oxalate app in the App Store. I finally feel like I can manage my new lifestyle. Would love an iPhone X update tho!

### 5/5 — Easy Access for better decisions

*2017-11-23, version 1.0.1*

I spent the first year of try to navigate a low oxalate diet relying on a very limited list from my doctor and the lists online that had some conflicting and confusing information about what was okay and what was not. When I had another urine test, my oxalate levels were still too high.
I went looking for an app and found this. It makes deciding whether or not to eat something easier. I found foods on this that were problematic that I had been eating fairly regularly. I feel more informed. There is no more “I think this is okay”.
A low oxalate diet is extremely challenging. This app helps me do better at it.

### 5/5 — Love this App!

*2017-05-10, version 1.0.1*

Not only does it have foods but they have also looked at different products you can find in a normal grocery store like glutino crackers. This app has helped me a lot.

### 4/5 — Nice quick reference

*2024-02-03, version 1.0.1*

I like this app to just quickly refer to for oxalate load when shopping for groceries or eating out. Sure it is not perfect, because oxalate loads differ with soils, etc. Unfortunately I just switched yo an iphone 15 and was sad to see this app dies not work on the new phones. Hoping that will be updated. One suggestion for improvement is a better Search function, as it seems to only allow one key word essentially?

### 4/5 — Great app but should be kept up to date

*2019-01-19, version 1.0.1*

If you had the joy of suffering from kidney stones you will go to great lengths to avoid build up of new ones at almost any cost. That’s why I still have high hopes for apps like these to provide the nutritional data that prevents calcium based stones.

My request to the developer is: please disclose your medical sources to back up your data, and, if you have lost interest in maintaining this app (no changes to data in 3 years worries me as products change) then you might want consider selling /handing over to a medical institution to ensure the highest possible scrutiny and integrity of this data, as it does affect people’s kidney condition in the long term.

I hope that there will be either a relaunch or update in the nearest future.
