Then I was forced to upgrade to Vocab trainer 2. Now in this new version I cant find a way to import my personal dictionary from the previous version. Years of work just relinquished. Ich habe dort meine ganzen selbst angelegten Vokabeln. Die möchte ich weiter üben auf die alte Art. Den ersten Buchstaben anzeigen und dann alle möglichen Buchstaben aufdecken, hat die App für mich zum besten Vokabeltrainer gemacht. Mal abgesehen davon, dass ich nicht selbst bestimmen konnte wieviel ich lernen möchte. Ich verstehe den Sinn der neuen App nicht! Die ist überhaupt nicht zu gebrauchen! The old version was clear and to the point, the best vocabulary trainer in the App Store hands down. Basic features were free, the additional purchases worthwhile and well integrated. The new version on the other hand is all over the place. The UI is so inconsistent that I’m really wondering whether this is the work of a professional (I hope it’s not) or if somebody on the project did it on the fly. And what is it with the graphics and animations? Does Oxford think I’m some sort of imbecile? The *basic dictionary* is a paid feature now! What am I even going to use this app for without paying? Apart from that the migration process didn’t even migrate my custom vocabulary list. That means my ESL students whose native language is not in the set of provided interface languages (for example, Farsi) can’t use the OVT app at all and I as a basically monolingual ESL teacher can’t demonstrate the app to my students. It is ridiculous not to provide English as an interface option in an English learning tool. Second, this app is useless for adding additional words (not in the built-in course) unless you Jane an English dictionary in which to find them. But an English dictionary is not loaded by default. When I try to add one by clicking on “add languages” in dictionary mode (using the French interface because there’s no English interface), it just prompts: Enregistrer (Register). Then when I click the Register link, nothing happens. I have wasted many hours trying to solve this problem. I would give it a 5 however, the text used in the sentences when explaining the meaning of a word is tiny and hard to read. Is it possible to to give the user an option to enlarge this text? Otherwise, the text size throughout the other sections of the App by contrast is very large. I am happy with that! There is a dictionary feature within the App that enables you to add additional words you wish to study. It says that it is free to try for a period then you have to subscribe. Just keep it as it is. ——————————————— An Update... Date: 05 Apr 2022 I would like to add some notice to the new app (Vocab Trainer 2). As long as I still prefer the previous app “Vocab Trainer” in terms of design + UI + easy to use etc. Why the developer behind the app (Vocab Trainer 2) would not allow users to choose the “English” language in-app setting > profile App. So, even if English are not my first language or I am not a native speaker, the option should be there. maybe the developer only thinks about new users who are still at (Beginner Level) and prefer their first language to use. But, please also consider users who prefer to use the English language as a primary language in the app settings and leave them to decide which is better for them.
