“Total failure” is the message that keep popping up when I launch the app… total failure. Any suggestion?

Please download the latest version (14.0). That fixes the issue.
Go to AppStore > [your account] > "Update all" and it will download if you are on WiFi.

Spare, slim listings for each word.  Save yourself $10.99 and buy another better version.  I was hoping it would be a helpful professional tool for writing — this is not thr most articulate version.  Basic words, seems more appropriate for elementary or middle school use, than for adults.
