It keeps asking you ‘Do you want to renew?’ and frozen there ### 1/5 — Poor excuse for an app *2025-08-11, version 2025.24* Truly dreadful app that doesn’t deliver any helpful functionality. ### 1/5 — Not working *2025-03-18, version 2024.25* Can't start on iPad Air (IOS 12.5.7) as it instantly crashes while opening. ### 2/5 — Good when it works *2026-01-24, version 2025.44* Yes you can view your Primamry and children’s accounts in one go, and that’s great, but half the time the app doesn’t work. Trying to renew books that are due, a dialogue “Are you sure?” opens with Yes and No, and of course you click Yes (why should this dialogue even exist??), but it pops up again and again and again, nothing happens. Only option is to click No, and your books aren’t renewed. Tried deleting and reinstalling the app, still the same issue, nothing works. Now I can’t even open the app. So frustrating. ### 2/5 — Bring back the reservation status feature please *2023-10-06, version 2023.1.8* I 2nd with the other reviewer. The new version look nice. But the status of reserved books is gone which is not convenient. Now you have to click on every single reserved book to see which one is ready to pick up. Please bring back this feature in the next bug fixing. Thanks. ### 2/5 — Useless for me *2019-10-18, version 3.9.6* I can see my details which is all well and good but I have no books. My children however have 10 each but I can’t see any details of their accounts despite being linked to mine. I’ll be deleting this app and returning to the website! ### 2/5 — Still a way to go *2019-10-14, version 3.9.6* V3 of this app - you can search but it seems you can’t reserve a book, if all the copies are on loan; you have to go through the website. The search results don’t make it clear whether it’s a paperback, ebook, etc until you go into each one. Not particularly useful, sadly. ### 2/5 — Pages don't scroll down - can't see crucial info *2016-05-21, version 3.9.6* Has this app even been tested at all? On a book listing page, if you expand a given library to see the book's availability, the page doesn't scroll down so you can't read it. Until problems like this are fixed this app is useless. Will stick to using the website which sadly is not optimised for mobile devices. ### 3/5 — Pretty good. *2026-07-03, version 2026.22* The app works well for looking at online resources and keeping track of your books on loan, but it would be a lot better if you could search for books available in your local library! ## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Simple, clear and easy to use *2016-01-15, version 3.9.3* A friend alerted me to this app and I've been really impressed with how simple it is to use. Trying to use the main site on a phone was frustrating at best. I like the clear display and simple click throughs. Reservations, renewals and account checking all very intuitive. ### 4/5 — Latest update totally useless - edit *2020-06-17, version 2020.1* Appears to be working again now. Ok, I know the libraries are currently closed but when they reopen, I'm hopeful that any info will arrive here. ### 4/5 — Why no wish list? *2017-09-06, version 3.9.6* This is a great app for accessing the library catalogue, loans, and reservations, but not as good as it could be, because the wish list isn't accessible from the app. This means that every time one wants to add to the wish list, or reserve something on the wish list, one has to go to the website. ### 4/5 — Why has alpha version been released? *2016-01-07, version 3.9.3* In fairness now both tech issues are fixed it works well so changing rating for now lack of a renew all button a shame Original review Yesterday it couldn't find the server, today it crashed on login, iPhone6+ screen too small to get to buttons renewal list too long and no scroll bars Why does Samsung version need access to so much sensitive personal data? ### 3/5 — Used to work well… *2024-09-17, version 2024.25* I used this regularly to keep track of both my children’s loans and appreciated the fact I could be signed in alongside my children’s accounts without having to switch. Recently the app keeps logging me out which means I have to re-input 3x library card numbers and pins to access the info I used to get at the tap of a button. This is so frustrating as a quick check on loans, renewing and ordering books used to be so quick and easy! Please resolve this- it used to work fine!! ### 3/5 — New features, but buggy *2023-11-22, version 2023.1.8* This is a useful app, and helpful that it can save your barcode for you if you don’t always have your library card to hand. I was excited to see an update to allow saving books to different lists, but unfortunately this feature does not currently work, I’m looking forward to an update where it does! ### 3/5 — It’s a very useful app *2023-09-29, version 2023.1.6* It’s a very useful app. I use it all the time to keep track of the books we’ve borrowed and to reserve books. The new update is good except for tracking the books ready for pick up.
