I would really find this helpful in many other ways like foreflight does. Emailed Rowan and was able to solve the problem en route. Know that instant response is not always possible but the team at OzRunways go all out for customer service and it’s appreciated. They also present freely at flyins etc. Pricing is also good value.10/10 from me. ### 5/5 — OZ runways *2023-12-03* I think it is the best thing since sliced bread as we say, it beat’s a cab full of maps with line’s drawn all over the place we’re you could spend most of your time looking at map lines and looking for objects on the ground to make sure you are on track and so not looking outside to often, at least OzRunways gives all the information right in front of you like boundaries and radio info, your track stands out like sour toe with great are coverage so you can’t get lost if you wanted too, and all the weather conditions are there to look at there is no need to put yourself in danger it’s all there. However, this company avoids making phone calls and hides behind an email address. At least with Avplan you can plan a flight from any point and select it as a start point. Oz Runways seems to have you start from wherever you are, eg suburban melbourne. Then you have to stuff around to delete your first leg. No start here available or obvious. Maybe there is a way, but it’s definitely not obvious. When you enquire, you get an email instead of a phone call, especially when you have requested a phone call. You need to do better !!! ### 2/5 — Unfortunately average *2024-08-18, version 12.3.3* Its very good as stand alone or for planes with analog instrumentation. The lack of connectivity to systems like garmin G3X is Unfortunately its lets down. I will not be renewing. I can do IT support for Banks and multi national corporations. Wasn’t wanting to do that for aviation- I just need programs that work reliably. Love the improvements ### 5/5 — A great app for flight planning and safety awareness *2025-10-02* I have been using OzRunways for about 8 years, and it is a really excellent app for flight planning, checking weather, and having the most up to date charts much more cost effectively than buying paper copies. In particular it is great that there is a high uptake of people using the app and broadcasting their position, from the RAAF to gliders, and your iPad will show other users of OzRunways and those with ADSB. It doesn’t remove the need for a good look-out but it is a great feature. The ‘pilot notes’ are great, particularly where they relate to fuel, and sometimes great places to stay. In addition I have really enjoyed designing flights all over Australia, some of which I have then done. I have now updated to the IFR subscription and anticipate that OzRunways will continue to be my go-to app for flight planning. ### 5/5 — Add manual customisable checklists please!! *2025-09-06, version 13.2.1* Please add the ability to add customisable checklists to the app, integrate it in just how foreflight has done it , I’d much rather stay with OzRunways so please add it sooner rather than later in an update! ### 5/5 — Top Flight Planning App *2025-08-07, version 13.2.0* After spending many years in the airline industry where much of this work was done for you and you were really looked after, when I went back to my roots in GA I was somewhat reticent about how I would go about flight planning. A friend recommended OZ Runways and I have found it as good as anything that I have seen provided by the airline industry.
