One cable provider in my area is not enough ## Newest reviews (12 of 54) ### 2/5 — This is why it’s going to be the PAC-8 again *2023-03-09* I would consider paying a nominal fee to watch the PAC-12 tournament while I’m laid up but I’m not going to waste my time and money signing up for some other worthless streaming or tv provider to get access for a couple of games. Considering the top tier business schools in this conference it’s staggering that a greedy money play like forcing content through the PAC-12 network could overlook the money they could gain from direct sales through this app. ### 3/5 — Almost awesome *2022-05-27, version 4.8* Pac-12 app shines for viewing Highlights. If you are fortunate enough to have a subscription to the Pac-12 Network l, the live feeds are great too. The app inexplicably falls apart in terms of being a source for basic things like box scores, stats and standings. It’s inconvenient to have to visit other apps to get this basic info. ### 4/5 — Water Polo *2021-09-26, version 4.2* Being an old timer Water Polo player I think the pac 12 could show some of the games instead of repeat games, example football games that are being shown 3,4 or 5 times, or watching games from last year, we have two pac 12 channels and too many times both are showing the same repeat sporting events at the same time. I am not saying show all games but it would be nice to see 3 or 4 each week. ### 2/5 — Not authorized *2021-09-04, version 4.1* Highly annoying that I lose connection when watching a game. When I go back to watch it I get an error message saying that “I’m not authorized to view this content”. To fix this it says to logout of tv provider and sign back in but yet the message still pops up. The only way to not get this message is to uninstall and reinstall the app completely and only then can I watch the game for like 30 minutes before the error message pops up again ### 4/5 — Love this except: *2021-03-24, version 3.6* It works great for softball games which are hardly ever broadcast on regular tv but I just wish they would show the scores. There’s a score button and even several days after a game they still don’t show the scores. ### 4/5 — Add more ways to watch. One cable provider in my area is not enough *2020-12-06, version 3.5* You fired so many employees to cut costs. Widen your distribution channels. Leadership is a joke. Grow your eye balls let us watch the technology is there. It’s all about bad mgt choices why this isn’t on. We have 6 Pac 12 alumni in our family. You serve one with your distribution, shameful. ### 1/5 — Low Rent/ JV Broadcasting *2020-02-01, version 3.0* The PAC 12 Network is Over promised, under delivered. Reminds me of a bunch of politicians making promises to those below them (Athletic departments and general public) and delivering a sub par product... but paying obscene comp packages to those “leaders” at the top. The PAC 12 Network is an embarrassment to the Conference of Champions, just as is the case with the current leadership. The PAC 12 Network and Larry Scott have run the Conference into the ground. PS... when the app is in a commercial break there’s a typo. It says “set push notifications” where I believe you are trying to say “push set notifications”? ### 1/5 — Worst of the Major Conferences *2019-11-10, version 3.0* You guys already have a tough time competing with other conferences in the major sports, now customers who want to watch have no other option but to subscribe to cable or a live streaming service. 7 years and no deal with Directv/AT&T and many other providers. Even the ACC network which is another major Basketball conference has there own channel thanks to Disney/ESPN and seems to be doing much better already. With all these options to stream content from ESPN+ to CBS All-Access it doesn’t make sense why a non tv subscriber can’t just subscribe to PAC-12 directly. Honestly it’s time to follow suit of B10 SEC & ACC and make a joint-deal with either FOX or ESPN ### 2/5 — Everything about this network is low quality *2019-08-31, version 2.35* I wish the pac-12 network would spend half as much money on their platforms as they do on office rent. I can’t sign in through their google app, it just keeps acting like it’s loading. There is no fire stick application to use. And then when I try to cast the UW football game from my phone, it refuses to load, yet somehow I can cast an Arizona volleyball game that is on at the same time. Please figure your stuff out, I want to be able to enjoy this conference’s sports teams, but you make it nearly impossible. **Developer response:** That sounds like a frustrating experience, and we're sorry about that. Thanks for your patience! ### 4/5 — It’s great but... *2019-07-28, version 2.34* The PAC-12 app is great it’s allowed me to follow some of the sports that don’t often make the cut on TV like women’s volleyball that may be being streamed but not on the broadcast. The only problem is my cable provider recently got rid of pac-12 so now as the fall season comes around I’m scrambling probably going to get Sling but though they are a pac-12 provider they don’t have access to live TV? I don’t know why but why isn’t there a pay to view access like HBO Now for people who don’t have access to the cable providers listed. It would be so much better. Love the app but access is limited based on where you live and cable providers available. There should be a pay option ### 1/5 — Streaming consistently unstable on all devices *2019-05-29, version 2.33* The past few weeks, streaming live sports on the iOS app has been consistently unstable. The selected stream will start, have limited buffering and then reliably crash after a minute or two, leaving the playback on a black screen with a buffering circle. This has been occurring on every stream attempt for at least 2 weeks, and is occurring on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV platforms. This problem seems to be occurring for other users too. ### 1/5 — Streams...sometimes... *2019-05-18, version 2.33* Worst sports streaming app ever...trying to watch a game right now, but won’t stream for more than a couple of minutes then goes to black screen with buffering circles spinning. Never buffers back up until I exit the video and reopen. Maybe 1 in 5 times I watch something it streams a complete game without having to close and reopen...even then it will stop and buffer or pause randomly then restart. ESPN and Fox Sports and CBS Sports etc stream much better and more consistently. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2023-11-26* The only time I need to watch this soon to be defunct network is tonight when my beloved Irish play at Stanford and I want to watch in my outdoor man cave. I download the app, it asks to login to my tv provider (I obviously said Allow) then I’m supposed to be able to watch the game. I’ve tried to cast this to two different devices and all it does is show the screen that tells you how to download and cast to a device. It won’t even play on my phone. When I check the settings it shows I’m not logged in to my tv provider even though I allowed it during the install. ### 1/5 — Content disappointing and difficult to navigate *2022-10-10, version 5.2* I enjoy watching full replays of football games! Football in 60 which in reality is football in 45 is just annoying! I like to hear what the commentators have to say not the disjointed comments football in 60 provides. The app is incredibly hard to navigate. You cannot drill down to exactly what you want to watch. I also miss the ability to watch replays when I am available to watch. I just opened the app and actually got “lucky” enough to find the game I wanted to see only to have the video not play! Seriously with service like this why bother! ### 1/5 — The app that destroyed an athletic conference *2022-10-02, version 5.1* It’s no wonder the Pac-12 is coming apart. It is hard enough finding games on network television. But the feeds to games in the app often don’t work, and the fact that you can only access the app through the limited and often fringe providers like Fubotv who carry the network, make everything about watching Pac-12 sports insufferable. ### 1/5 — Is this a joke? Technical difficulties for weeks now? *2022-02-25, version 4.4* I have been getting this error for weeks now, you can’t get your dumb channel on DirecTV and now I can’t even use my cable login? Embarrassing “Sign in Error, we are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later.” Par for the course for the supposed “conference of champions… What a joke and no wonder the entire conference is completely irrelevant. Did I mention that this app is a joke? Asking for a friend. ### 1/5 — This app was good for 30 seconds… *2021-12-18, version 4.3* If only I could give this app a half a star, I logged into this app got it signed in went to watch what I was waiting to watch all day and then I go to watch it and cast it on the TV for me and my mom to watch and it stops working try deleting the app and trying again doesn’t work says there’s some error when there’s not completely disappointed and frustrated with this app if you want to watch for sports team definitely wouldn’t suggest using this app because it is terrible and completely annoying and know what I’ve been waiting to watch all day I can’t even watch I hope they see this so they can fix there app to make it functional for everyone to use. ### 1/5 — Too greedy! *2021-09-19, version 4.2* Why am I paying way too much for Directv when the Pac-12 network isn’t included in one of the most expensive tv providers?!! More static “pac 12” logos while other commercials are airing. Middle of the road broadcasters and poor video quality. I don’t know how other conferences run or look but, I assume they look and sound better than this. Also forget using ur phone while watching the game. Switch from the app and it will disconnect. Hope the new head honcho gets things fixed ### 1/5 — Sign in doesn’t work *2021-02-21, version 3.5* I paid for the Pac 12 network through Dish TV, but my husband needs to use the app as some of the games are on while he is at work. The sign in button is not working. It’s not working on his phone, on my phone, or on the iPad. The ‘key’ symbol and the settings log in both just spin. It is horrible that parents cannot only not attend the games due to COVID, but now we can’t watch our kids play via an app we pay for. ### 1/5 — App is Not Good *2020-12-09, version 3.5* Continually times out and buffers when the internet isn’t the problem and everything else is working. Often times the first few minutes of games have no audio before randomly appearing and then you get the hear the hot mic during commercial breaks. Home page isn’t as user friendly as it could be. Needs serious improvements and is very frustrating to try to watch a game. ### 1/5 — Pac-12 has the worst digital strategy of any conference *2020-12-07, version 3.5* This is the First Apple app review I’ve ever written- for years I’ve watched Scott make false promises of a future state where fans of the conference around the country can watch their alma maters’ play football and basketball. As a direct tv subscriber, the Pac-12 has failed its teams and fan base by not figuring out a way to broadcast content while working on executing the longer term strategy. Tonight I thought I could stream my favorite team’s game but after a few minutes it cut my off. It’s sad that USC and UCLA got the exit ball rolling enough that other teams panicked and grabbed onto the nearest Lifeboat they could find. Kliavkoff was a horribly ineffective leader - too bad he got the job the lex to the conference’s demise. My hope is that with the cross country travel that lesser financed programs than the two SoCal schools will see that joining conferences 2 time zones away was and is a Stupid Idea. Maybe there will be a reconsideration after a year or two of players tired from all the traveling that many of these schools will reconsider their moves to the Big 10, Big 12, and ACC conferences. ### 5/5 — Expand *2022-04-02, version 4.6* An avid sports fan living on the East Coast and with children going to USC I would love to see PAC-12 sports on a cable provider here. I think it is imperative to do this so the rest of the country can be exposed to PAC-12 excellence. A person who will negotiate business contacts that are fair and equable across the sports community. Many of us felt that the former management used the position for his own personal benefits. We look forward to leadership that will set a example of honesty and openness for our nation’s future leadership. High standards, and moral commitment are needed more than ever in today’s society. ### 5/5 — Arizona /Oregon State game!!!! *2021-05-23, version 3.7* This baseball game was supposed to be on our TV today- but you are showing ASU /USC which is not as significant when it comes to the baseball PAC 12 championship possibilities. Very disappointed - ! I have Xfinity and we watch Pac-12 networks all the time. Last night the announcers at Corvallis, Oregon said - see you tomorrow at noon for the third game in this series. No wonder pac 12 is in trouble. Only issue I have is the most recent version of the app displays a message in the middle of the screen advising that I’m “viewing the app using airplay” when mirrored to a television. It is not a large type message and anywhere but the middle of the screen would be tolerable.
