### 3/5 — On a wait list

*2023-12-22*

Signed up and was put on a wait list. Not sure if this is scammy or really popular.
I look forward to changing this review.

### 2/5 — Waitlist

*2023-12-20*

My problem with this app is that it collects your information and then places you on a waitlist (??) without letting you browse and see if there are even any groups that you want to be a part of. I don’t even know what I’m waiting for. Weird system.

### 2/5 — Confused

*2023-11-13*

I went through the signup process, was proceeded to be notified I am now on the waitlist, but I currently receive notifications of different groups to join and when I click on them, I am brought to the waitlist screen. It doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense and it’s becoming frustrating. Same thing with emails, I am now getting emails of different talks to join, but the app still states I’m waitlisted. Le sigh.

### 2/5 — Buggy technology, flailing company

*2023-04-01*

I was a Pace customer for more than two years. I can’t decide which was worse, the video chat system that dropped members without warning and had buggy camera functions or the fact that they kept jerking our group around.

It’s a good place to meet people, but there’s no benefit to staying long term because they can and will change the rules and nuke - oh, I’m sorry, “sunset” - your established group.

### 5/5 — Incredible app! Find a circle/group that is motivating!

*2022-12-19, version 2022.30.01*

This app is life improving!

### 5/5 — Extraordinary!

*2022-11-09, version 2022.27.01*

I joined pace about six months ago and the experience has been nothing short of incredible. I’m in two groups (it’s such great value that you can be in several groups - up to 3 I think - for no extra cost) and they are both amazing. I think that has a lot to do with the matching process - I’m in groups with people who are at similar life stages and are working through similar issues. I am amazed at how deep both groups have gone in such a short time and how deeply connected we feel to each other. The facilitators are beyond excellent and create really safe containers in which we feel totally confident being vulnerable and in which we feel heard, held, and receive loving support. Before joining pace I was concerned that something would be lost in the online experience (vs in-person) but the opposite has proven to be true. The convenience of joining from anywhere and having the opportunity to connect with people from all over has made pace far more rewarding than an IRL meeting. I have no doubt that some of the people I’ve met through pace will become lifelong friends. Truly a 10/10 experience in every way.

### 5/5 — PACE. - Using the Power of Technology for Good

*2022-10-22, version 2022.25.01*

I was in desperate need of counseling and support, but I could not find any resources in my area. So I turned to the internet and serendipitously found PACE. This organization truly delivers a 5-star product. From a competent matching system to highly trained facilitators, I have found a safe place to go to for support.

### 5/5 — Try it!!

*2022-07-02, version 2022.18.06*

There are some very negative reviews on here and I just wanted to jump in and say I love Pace. It has exceeded my expectations. I have found a lot of comfort in hearing from people with similar perspectives. I’ve also been stretched by hearing other perspectives. I now see my individual therapist less and do pass every week. Try it out with an open mind!

### 2/5 — This is a review of the app, not the organization

*2022-04-18, version 2022.12.01*

iPhone 7+, Multiple app issues: (1) The ‘Contact Us’ button tries to open the native email feature on the iPhone but I don’t use that on my iPhone; I use a gmail app, so ‘Contact Us’ should show its email address or allow it to be copied. (2) Status shows ‘Group Matched,’ but doesn’t tell you which group, nor anything about how to contact Facilitator(s), not any information about whom the Facilitator(s) may be. (3) There was no link nor any button within the app that allowed me to join the onboarding / initial consultation call.

### 2/5 — Uses insecure communication exposing contact info

*2022-04-11, version 2022.11.02*

My early experience was pretty good. I liked the format and the moderators. The app worked well enough.

But after my second session, the company emailed my group using CC, which exposed our email addresses to each other - and last names and companies were apparent for some. Given the stance the company takes on confidentiality and saying that they give you control over how you share your name with the group, I can't believe they don't have better practices in place.

### 2/5 — Lots of app glitches

*2022-02-20, version 2022.05.01*

The idea is solid, but the app itself is poorly developed. Out of four sessions, I had trouble joining through the app three times.

Then, when I tried to cancel my subscription, there was no easy way to do this. Please flesh out your app more thoroughly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Just straight to collecting personal information?

*2024-01-27*

I wouldn’t trust this app. Zero transparency, I have to give you my phone number before knowing what I’m getting into? Nope. You have a great idea here, but horrible way to implement it, especially since you’re literally marketing to people with trust issues.

### 1/5 — Problem with the app

*2024-01-07*

I am unable to make my account. It keeps giving my an error every time I press “confirm” after reading their policies. There is no support to reach out

### 1/5 — Money hungry company

*2023-07-27*

Money hungry company. They put you in a group. You bond. They change it because they want more members. They make you lose bonds. They make you regret you ever used Pace. They make people’s mental health worse who have a hard time opening up. You get a group. Open up. Then they change it all so all the members leave. Horribly selfish.

### 1/5 — Can’t use the app

*2023-06-18*

I downloaded the app and it immediately makes you put in your cell number so it can send you a code. The problem is when I put in the code it just says “unable to log in with phone and passcode”. I tried multiple times and it still didn’t work

### 1/5 — Horrible customer service

*2023-03-27*

Horrible customer service. Only text. No phone. They messed up my account. Removed me from my group based on their directions to me. I missed my group because of them. They do not know how yo treat customers. They only care about money. I asked for someone to call me. They do not. They care about money and that is all! They completely ruined my experience.

### 1/5 — Doctors suggesting self harm

*2023-02-23, version 2023.02.06*

I am extremely disappointed and angry about my experience with the group therapy app Pace. Not only did the app fail to provide the support and care that I needed, but one of the doctors, Dr. Julius Austin, even suggested that I harm myself. This is completely unacceptable and shows a total lack of professionalism and empathy on his part. Furthermore, the Pace care team seems to have a complete disregard for their clients. Despite multiple attempts to contact them about the issues I was facing, I received no response or acknowledgement of my concerns. It is deeply concerning that a mental health app would be so dismissive of its users, especially when they are struggling with serious issues. In addition, the behavior of some of the other members in the group therapy sessions was incredibly problematic. There were multiple instances where members were disrespectful, disruptive, and even abusive towards others in the group. This is completely unacceptable and goes against the very purpose of a safe and supportive therapy environment. Overall, my experience with Pace has been nothing short of a complete disaster. Not only did the app fail to provide the help and support that I needed, but it actively caused harm through the actions of one of its doctors. The complete disregard for client concerns and the disruptive behavior of other members only add to the list of problems with this app. I would strongly advise anyone considering using Pace to seek help elsewhere, as this app is simply not capable of providing the care that those struggling with mental health issues need and deserve.

### 1/5 — Says app doesn’t work without update, no update available

*2023-02-13, version 2023.01.04*

I can’t use the app because it’s out of date. And App Store does not have an update…

### 1/5 — Wrong on times. No customer service.

*2023-02-02, version 2023.01.04*

I clicked to enter a drop in meeting at 9:05am. It was 9:05am. It even let me click it. It then said the meeting was past and did not let me join. It was not past. That is why it let me click it. It was exactly 9:05am. I had set an alarm so I could join if I made it home. I did. What am I paying for if I cannot even join a 9:05 meeting at 9:05. It even let me click book so I was not past 9:05am. Then there is zero customer service to contact in the moment to get into the meeting. I will no longer recommend this app. The meeting times are already not good. No meetings Fridays. I guess people do not need mental health on Fridays.

### 1/5 — It’s terrible

*2023-01-08, version 2022.31.01*

The platform encourages people to be honest and share deeply of themselves, but the group leaders are just people who may not even have mental health training. Other people in the group will behave however they want with no boundaries. It’s NOT confidential. It’s designed to be hurtful.

### 1/5 — Not private

*2022-02-04, version 2022.03.01*

Wants to collect all your personal details before even letting you explore the app. It’s not designed for support but for grabbing your data for advetisement purposes

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app to connect folks

*2024-03-18*

I’ve been in 2 groups for a year and a half and just met one of my groups IRL for the first time. I would have never had made these connections without this app. I’m so thankful for that.

### 5/5 — Love Pace HATE the app

*2023-07-24*

I’ve been using Pace for about a month and I feel better than I have in a long time. The group facilitators are passionate and committed. I feel very connected to the other members and I’m able to open up to them. This app though, is horrid. It’s infuriatingly slow, glitchy, and the chat feature takes forever load. I do my sessions on my laptop because the website works better.

### 5/5 — Togetherness

*2023-05-31*

Pace is a great way to spend time with people who are supportive of what you’re going through and listen so well. It’s a comfortable place to be and you will feel connected weekly!

### 5/5 — Great for feeling connected and personal growth

*2023-04-06*

I’ve been a member of two very different groups at PACE for a long time now! Meeting weekly with a group of people and hearing what they think and what they’re facing is invaluable.

The format of the sessions and the app continue to evolve. I think the changes are usually for the best.

I appreciate how much they seem to care about bringing people together in a small, safe, and intimate online environment.

Their professional facilitators are there to lead the group every week and participate. They have impressive backgrounds and people skills.

### 5/5 — My favorite night of the week!

*2023-03-15*

I can’t say enough about how incredible my group is. I walk away every week feeling hopeful and inspired by hearing other’s experiences and grateful to have the opportunity to share my own. The $ value is 10/10 & the people are 15/10!! Thank you to Pace for bringing these absolutely wonderful people into my life!

### 5/5 — Loving my Pace experience

*2023-02-17*

Thank you Pace for bringing these wonderful women into my life. I so look forward to our gatherings! To be heard, supported and understood is such a wonderful gift!

Also am really loving your concierge service - special kudos to Samantha!

Finally a big loving shout out to our immensely loving and talented facilitator Ani! Thank you to bits Ani. Much gratitude!

### 5/5 — Woke

*2022-12-23, version 2022.31.01*

I believe in woke, respectful for each other’s diversity. PACE has a consistent Woke approach. Thank you for that.

### 5/5 — A crucial aspect of my week

*2022-12-23, version 2022.31.01*

My Pace group is an essential part of my week and greatly contributes to my mental health and well being. The app is seamless and easy to use. I highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Come get your cosmic hug

*2022-12-20, version 2022.30.01*

I am so grateful for this app. What a service to humanity. I have only been in one group, but it was the right group for me. My deepest gratitude to the founders and team that designed this solution. This is what the world needs. I hope there can be a version for kids soon. May Pace grow and cover the earth!

### 5/5 — Very Well Thought-Out

*2022-12-20, version 2022.30.01*

Great app, feel validaed and connected. The designers of this really had people in mind, and were very thoughtful about making sure you are places in the right group.
