### 2/5 — Used to be such a fan…

*2021-09-25, version 3.1.4*

I paid for this app back when it was a one-time payment. Enjoyed the features enough and liked showing it off to friends every now and then. Came back one day to find that I pretty much threw my money away since they decided to become a subscription based app. No discount for their early supporters, no new features to justify the insane markup in price. Disappointed in this business model, $4.99 a week is an egregious price for a mixing app of this kind. Maybe one day they’ll attempt to win me back somehow.

### 4/5 — What a difference the update made

*2021-06-24, version 3.1.1*

The bug I reported has been fixed. My only real gripe so far is the picture suggestion for tracks on the automation function doesn’t do anything. It would be nice to add to those tracks by tapping the pic just like with the active tracks. The suggested tracks have no functionality other than a pic. Sometimes they pop up on the top bar when you add a track but often times they don’t.

I’ll be giving it the real test this weekend so I’ll. Update and let you know how it goes.

### 2/5 — What is happening

*2021-04-24, version 3.0.6*

I am so sad to say that my Pacemaker no longer works properly and it appears that I am now being hijacked to pay $4.99/week. It worked fine until I began taking the updates.

I paid for this application over 4 yrs ago and put it on my iPad and iphone but when I go to tap the link to restore purchase it does not work. I am now left with an app that is useless. $4.99 per week is also highway robbery. I have a gig to do in 2 weeks and I am now in panic mode and so terribly sad that supporting them even paying a fee back years ago does not allow me continued usage. I’ve even sent in fantastic feedback as a deejay and music curator respected the world over for my achievements in the world of soulful dance music. I am one of 11,500 voting members for The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and signed developed and released a body of of music of 1000 singles and 80 LP’s Licenced signed and appreciated the world over.

There’s no way for me to even contact customer support when the application opens up as well.

Hopefully someone reads this at the company and does the right thing here reinstating my original purpose.

### 4/5 — Come back to the app was a mistake

*2021-03-06, version 3.0.3*

I used this app through the beginning of quarantine, loved it. It was free and I made some very impressive mixes. I decided to come back to the app and now all my mixes don’t work (half the songs aren’t playable) and I can’t even look up the same songs from top artists. Why am I required to pay $20 a month if I can’t use any song that I want? Doesn’t make sense to me.

### 1/5 — A few “great” things about the new update

*2021-02-25, version 3.0.2*

Update 3.0 was amazing I really loved these features:
- you can no longer play 99% of your songs
- you have to pay for pacemaker + to do anything now
- Previously purchased effects from way back to before + are no longer usable without paying for a premium service (because you can’t use the app without a subscription)
- the app is slower than slow
- hopefully you want to pay 5 dollars a week to listen to like 10 percent of your previously made playlists!

This update really knocked it out of the park! Great job!

What the heck happened to this app. There is NO reason that I shouldn’t be able to use Pacemaker like I have been for the past 4 years. I paid for the ability to use features in this app and now I can’t even use those features without paying for a subscription. These guys are crooks. It doesn’t really matter though because even if I could still use the app without paying 20 bucks a month they quit supporting like 99% of there music anyway. Overall do not download.

### 2/5 — Long Time User Cancelled

*2021-02-23, version 3.0.2*

I’ve been a long time user and absolutely loved this app. Unfortunately the price has just sky rocketed. In that process the app hasn’t been made that much better. This costs more than what I pay for Apple Music for my entire family and Apple Music has way more music. If this app was better, like consistent across iPad and iPhone, AND if I could stream my mix tapes via Apple Watch it might be worth the price. The only thing the Apple Watch is good for is a remote control to your phone, which it’s been like this for years. Make the Apple Watch stream the mixes so I can use this expensive app when I go on runs and I might consider the cost. I pay for an entire office suite from Microsoft for less. It’s just too expensive.

### 1/5 — Unable to see my old account

*2021-02-20, version 3.0.2*

A while back when I first used this app I purchased several in app purchases like sounds , effects, and many more . But now not only did they scrap all of my playlists but also took away all of the add on’s that I had bought already. On top of all this it is now forcing me to pay 4:99 in order to even hear a playlist let alone mix . I used to live this app , now it’s just going to sit in a pit because nobody will pay that price .

### 4/5 — Great App!

*2021-02-05, version 3.0.1*

I wanna start by saying that the app is so much fun to use. And easy kinda....the one thing that bothers me is that sometimes the music won’t show up at the top when I search for a song...instead you have to scroll through many random songs to find the song you're looking for. That and the price are the low points of the app. As for everything else 👌👌👌

### 1/5 — Why even have the pop up?

*2021-01-29, version 3.0.1*

Why do you have a pop up every time someone touches their screen? Better yet why even have it be a free download, there is not a single thing in this app that you can do without plus, YOU CANT EVEN LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLES MIXES THAT THEY POSTED. The pop up that never leaves should not say “get the full experience” because you don’t have anything to begin with. What you should have put is “get the experience” just leave out the full and then it wouldn’t be false advertising and lying to everyone who downloads the app. You couldn’t even put like 20 tracks people could have used to test the app before your greed took over?

### 1/5 — Disappointed with performance

*2021-01-28, version 3.0.1*

I have been a Pacemaker subscriber for more than three years. When many of my playlists lost many songs, I loved the app so much I figured out could make it work.

In the last week however, the performance is the app is dismal. It will not pull up tracks in my library it it takes FOREVER to pull them up. My phone and the app are all updated so I know that is not the problem. The search feature for tracks is also horrible. This is incredibly disappointing given that most members are losing a lot of tracks. Now we have a subpar app to deal with too. I’ll give it a few more weeks, and if it doesn’t improve, a subpar app and subpar tracks give me no reason to spend money on it anymore.

### 1/5 — Ha! What a joke for an appp

*2020-12-22, version 3.0.1*

If I could leave 0 stars I would. You thought blocking me on Instagram would keep me from getting the word out but NOPE. For an app the user pays for this thing constantly glitches and freezes. The new update literally wrecked all of your playlist and removed THOUSANDS of songs from the set list to choose from. “Stick with us” they said after 🥴 don’t waste your time or money you will only have about 10% of your music in your library to use. Maybe 1% of that will actually mix and then it will glitch anyway. I’m choosing not to curse so this doesn’t get taken off but rest assure I would if I could.

### 1/5 — New 3.0 version is completely unsatisfactory

*2020-12-18, version 3.0.0*

I have been using this app and paying for it for the last several years and absolutely loved it. But since this new 3.0 update,I can only access a quarter of the songs from my old mixes. A 60 min playlist is now 15 min long at best. Not only can I not use my mixes anymore but everyone else’s mixes only have about a 1/4 of the songs in them as well. The selection that is available on there now is unsatisfactory to say the least. If pacemaker cannot get access to all of these songs back, I will have to cancel my subscription and use another app such as Rock My Run or Fit Radio instead. This app created a passion for me in making my own playlists for my classes. I feel like a part of me is lost now without it. Do not get this app unless they can get the rights back to all of the music they previously had! Make this right Pacemaker

### 3/5 — LET US KEEP OUR MUSIC PLEASE

*2020-12-17, version 3.0.0*

As a fitness coach, pacemaker is an amazing app to let us personalize our playlists without having to play with our phone to change songs. I’ve been using this app religiously for years and have about 200 mixtapes I recycle and continue to make new ones. But PLEASE, LET US KEEP OUR MUSIC!! Too many changes in music licensing and we are losing all of our past playlists with updates. Please, keep it the same and let us keep the playlists already made and don’t take our songs away!!

### 1/5 — Don’t Update to 3.0

*2020-12-17, version 3.0.0*

I used to love this app. Would use it’s automix feature when I want a simple mixtape for a night walk or drive. I was able to do that for free even if I couldn’t adjust the weird transitions or levels. Something I was fine with. The auto mixing feature on this app is amazing and the best I have seen for a quick to go mix.

But unfortunately, you have to pay $8 a WEEK to use this app now. I get every app developer needs money and there are music licensing issues that Pacemaker has been dealing with, but I have no idea why they won’t let free users exist on the app anymore.

I have used this app for about a year now and loved it. I wished I could just do a one time buy to keep using it. I would easily pay $15 dollars or so for it, but the subscription model as finally turned me away and made it unusable for free users.

I can’t justify spending over 20 bucks a month for a mixing app, and I have a feeling most people won’t either.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2020-11-12, version 2.8.11*

Hi, ive been playing with this app for a while now and I loce it. But if I'm going to pay this much for it, I would really appreciate if you guys could squash at least most of the bugs. On my iPhone 12, I have experienced spontaneous crashes, the scrubber completely ignoring me when I touch it with my finger, and most of all, when I add a new song, very often there is not transition that shows up on the timeline and pressing that little lightning button literally does nothing (even when I jam it repeatedly). The fix for all of these issues is always the same, restart the all. But it's frustrating how often I need to do this

### 3/5 — Fix ur app❤️

*2020-11-11, version 2.8.11*

This app is the best at what it does, I’ve tried a lot of these apps. The matching AI is good. The auto mixing isn’t great, but why get a mixing app if you’re not going to do it yourself you know. But my main concern is that at random times this app gets unbearably glitchy. I’ll play around with two songs and when I listen back to the stitch, my actions don’t register and I have to refresh the app to try again. Again, I love this app but it’s been out too long for it to be acting up like it does. Please fix, thanks.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbage. Not worth the hype. Very buggy app. Terrible customer service and privacy policy.

*2023-01-31, version 3.1.16*

Prior to this being subscription-based, you used to be able to do a 1-time purchase for individual features that you then owned. The dev is allowed to switch to a subscription-based model, but locking people out of the software they already paid for is stealing. When adobe went to a subscription model for photoshop, indesign, etc, people who already paid the several hundred dollars for and older photoshop didn’t get locked out of it, you just don’t get all the automatic updates and new features because those aren’t the ones you paid for…. Im on the 1-week trial now so I could access a mix I made over 5 years ago. Nothing about the functionality of the app has improved in the slightest. They’ve just added some CORNY filters and fx as well as some skins. It is buggier that it was years ago! What a joke.

### 1/5 — App Trap

*2023-01-08, version 3.1.16*

I was an avid user when this app first came out. Even purchased the membership. Few years later what I purchased isn’t valid. Ok far but I’d pay more if there were real changes to the app. Nothing new changed with the features. Only benefit is y’all profit with making the app a subscription membership. That being said please refund me my money. My initial terms and conditions from 2015 that I approved when I downloaded this app does not mention any type of subscriptions 🤷🏾‍♂️. Run me my $4.99 plus NY taxes please 😩. I know y’all sick of me but for real I’m so disappointed.

### 1/5 — SMH

*2022-04-04, version 3.1.11*

I had this app when it first hit the market a couple years back. This was my go to app. before you only had to pay one price to receive all effects. Since then you’ve lost more then half your musical catalogue , you can’t use the app entirely without a subscription. before you could at least dj your own music library not anymore. this five dollars a week is Ridiculous especially since you no longer offer the features that made this app great. “djay” app which is considered the best professional deejay app on the market is cheaper then this just saying.

### 1/5 — This is just sad to see

*2022-01-08, version 3.1.9*

I remember using this app about 6-7 years ago and when i used it, it had loads of good music to be honest it felt like it had every one that i needed to make a party have a good vibe but now, it simply does not have any music that is relative at all. All the music in pacemaker + is a joke like honestly does anyone really know any of these artist let alone listen to them, honestly i give up you tell us to wait and bear with y’all but come on be real feels like this will never change no one seems to collaborate with this app and all i see is steady decline.

Just disappointing and sad…

Best of luck

### 1/5 — A warning to others

*2021-11-10, version 3.1.6*

I paid in full for this app and all of its add-ons previously. When I inquired about the removal of my access to an app that I paid for, I was given access to the old version via Test Flight, which has now been taken away as well, leaving me only to subscribe to pieced together half hearted software at an extreme premium.

My only recourse now is to warn others to stay away. The app could change without warning and remove paid features or further degrade functionality for the same price or even more.

You pay for access to the app. It never belongs to you. If you subscribe to it, treat it as if the features or the app itself could be removed at any moment. Don’t treat it as more than just a fun toy.

It is the first app I’ve ever paid for and purchased all features because I was so impressed. At one time, this was exciting software.

Fool me once…

### 1/5 — TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH (And They Know It)

*2021-09-17, version 3.1.4*

So the app opens up, even loads up your songs from Apple Music. And then, it happens. You’re offered to subscribe to Pacemaker+. You decline and you’re back at the song list. Press your song choice again, and it’s back to the ad. At this point, you realize this is a bait and switch. Nevermind they forced people to update without publicly acknowledging the major changes ahead. So disappointed they don’t even offer the regular dj features anymore. I’ll find a replacement app, but nothing will beat it. And regardless of the reply, unless it’s offering your users the ability to revert to just the core app, nothing will be of true resolve.

### 1/5 — Was a great app before subscription base

*2021-07-03, version 3.1.1*

I absolutely loved this app when I original purchased it. I paid a flat fee for Pacemaker and loved it so much I invested more money into it purchasing additional type of effects. Then one day Pacemaker got a update and was now monthly subscription based? Now if I wanted to continue to use Pacemaker I needed to pay $5 a month. Apple shouldn’t allow apps be able to suddenly go subscription based. Now the app is useless. Does not work unless you subscribe. All the money I invested into the Pacemaker is gone. Very disappointed.

### 1/5 — Updated Version is Useless

*2021-04-16, version 3.0.5*

I used to LOVE this app and use it constantly even just to listen to music, but ever since they switched to this new version that requires you to subscribe its completely useless. None of the music I want to mix is even available to play anymore ! I lost all my mixes in the update because I can’t even play any of the songs. If you’re gonna try to make something useful for people to get into DJ-ing, maybe don’t minimize your audience by leaving out a whole realm of electronic and club subgenres.

### 1/5 — Money grabbing in effect now

*2021-03-29, version 3.0.3*

Imagine: having a customer pay $40 a year for the app, and it works well for over 5 years. Then they decide to go for the cash crab and increase it to almost $200 a year and making it WORSE! That’s what they’ve done to this app. And if you’ve got a yearly plan, the app (after asking for a while) just wholesale switches you to the new option (where you can’t sync songs from your library EVEN if you have Apple Music, nexuses the old subscription hasn’t ended and you can’t pay for the new one yet).

Just a disaster. Almost like they “Whedonized” the app, like Joss Whedon totally destroyed a great movie like Justice League.

Avoid! And this is coming from a former supporter and promoter of this app.

### 1/5 — Subscription really?!?!

*2021-03-01, version 3.0.3*

I purchased all the effects A few years back and I’ve been enjoying this app ever since now after this update I somehow cannot use it anymore to DJ I have to have a subscription to DJ while I already had power all the in app of purchases so for you guys to do that and not at least let people that have had this out for years now like stick with that or allow them to have that option which is DJ on that I use app it makes no sense I am very disappointed this is not an any Wayfare and get business I think you guys should consider reading this and changing your policy or just no subscription at least for me and those I have had this out for years now I depend on it since I’m a DJ and I can’t be paying for a subscription I just so dumb when there was no subscription to be paid a few months ago this is what you call innovation progress well I don’t see it I just see it as another way to make more money from us

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — There’s no point in buying this

*2020-12-06, version 2.8.11*

When I was getting it it was free so ya know I thought it was gonna be free I could make some pretty good music and mashups but when I loaded in it was just a stupid scam that I had to pay 7.99$ for per month for no reason it’s nothing so idk why I have to pay for it at least just make it free to use and have it free where we could use it there are just some features that require payment instead of making the whole app 7.99$ for nothing

### 5/5 — Couldn’t be happier than without it!

*2020-08-29, version 2.8.10*

Sorry for the rough riding, glad you made it Bro. All of you included in that gender neutral usage of the word “Bro”, including those I may have forgotten to forgive. I forgive and love and acknowledge and value all of you not to mention I owe you all some big bucks. I’m sure we’ll be able to work it out now that I’ve graduated :). Cool, cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool beesZzzzzZ.

### 5/5 — Pretty amazing app (for me)

*2020-05-17, version 2.8.8*

I saw this app a long time ago while scrolling through story’s on Instagram, and I thought nothing of it. This time I saw it again, and I thought “hmm, maybe I should just give it a try”. Well dam is it amazing! It may be a little hard to understand how things work at first, But it’s easy to figure out. So nothing to bad. I already made a 3 1/2 hour mix of songs I love! This is a game changer for me and my friends who want a homemade radio station type vibe. And I mean can we talk about the transitions!
👌🏽😩 honestly for me they’re amazing! What can I say, 5 stars my friend.

### 5/5 — My favorite instrument besides guitar

*2020-04-16, version 2.8.5*

I’ve been using this app for years to transcribe music. Easy to loop specific parts then slow them down. And it’s great for making loops to practice playing over.

I love the flat graphic style of this app and glad the team has resisted the temptation to bloat it with junk. Some nice motion design details all over, from the screen transitions to the little icons that pulse when they’re on. Inspiring stuff.

### 5/5 — Wow, This is amazing!

*2018-12-31, version 2.6.0*

I’ve been using this app to create special mixes for different events such as New Year’s Eve and it killed it! Yes, the transitions may be a little bad sometimes, but an app this great has to have at least one flaw. Other apps you have to pay to use or are just to complicated. But not this one! I’ve been looking for an app like this for awhile, so glad I found this!!!!!!!!

### 5/5 — Perfect for group fitness

*2018-12-27, version 2.6.0*

Really cool app! Highly recommend if you’re a trainer who gets to pick their music for fitness classes. Love being able to create my own mixes without an awkward pause and without having to play the entire song. I’ve had multiple problems with my account login information, my app quitting suddenly, or my subscription (even though I paid for a year already). However, I still rate 5 stars because of the amazing customer service/support team.

### 5/5 — Psyerxes

*2018-04-18, version 2.4.6*

Using this app isn’t fun anymore just because of the new technology you’re using. Your team says that the new analyzer technology can’t gather the songs information in the other hand i can’t play with spoty music cause if the net is on push notifications distribs the volume while I’m palying in party. Please make the analyzer work with local musics. It’s getting on my nerves and i have to use other apps that do the same. Please make it happen.

### 5/5 — Tempo changer?

*2018-03-05, version 2.4.4*

Did you take out the tempo feature because that was the only reason I got the app

Do you think it would be possible to add the tempo changer to the next update??? I don't have an iPad and I find that feature the most useful? I love the app by the way I just wish it had that one extra feature

### 5/5 — Amazing and so much fun!

*2018-02-20, version 2.4.4*

This app is so awesome. It seas designed very well and makes it incredibly easy to put seamless mixes together. And if you are more experienced you can really blend some tracks together into something special. I’ve mixed a couple playlists together to use while coaching my Orangetheory Fitness classes and they were a hit! And making mixes can be highly addicting! 🤪🙌🏼

### 5/5 — Great for exercising!!!

*2017-08-05, version 2.3.4*

I use this app at the gym and while running. I can load any of my iTunes playlists of individual tracks and it's like a DJ is mixing my playlist for me. Granted the transitions from track to track aren't always that great, but other times the transitions are amazing! No more downtime while tracks are ending and starting. The intensity of my runs and work outs has drastically increased because of this app.

Some options I'd like to see and even be willing to pay for are...
1.the ability to rate a transition so the app can learn when it's working well and when it's not.
2.When I'm in the lock out screen and I hit the next track button it jumps the current song ahead to where the app was planning on mixing the next track instead of forcing the mix at that point like it will do when inside the app.

Again, love this app even though I don't use it for its intended purpose.
