## What is Pacific Coast Highway Almanac?

The Pacific Coast Highway is the most scenic drive in America. This is the guide it deserves.

From the Victorian seaport of Port Townsend, Washington, to the sun-drenched shores of San Diego, California, the Pacific Coast Highway Almanac covers 124 carefully curated historic sites along one of the world's great coastal roads. Whether you're driving southbound through Washington, Oregon, NorCal, and SoCal — or heading north toward the Olympic Peninsula — every stop has a story worth knowing.

What's Inside:

124 historic sites across four regions — Washington, Oregon, Northern California, and Southern California
Richly researched histories and significance narratives for every site
Professional AI narration for every stop — listen while you drive
GPS-accurate navigation — tap any site to get directions with a single touch
Northbound and southbound modes — browse the route the way you're driving it
State filter pills for quick regional browsing
Full-text search by site name, city, or keyword
Favorites — save the stops that matter most to you
Vintage and classic vehicles depicted throughout — celebrating the cars and trucks that made this highway legendary

Built for the Road:
Every site entry includes visit duration estimates, proximity notes, and practical tips from someone who has actually driven this highway. This isn't a recycled Wikipedia summary — it's original research written for travelers who want context, not just coordinates.

From the makers of the Route 66 Centennial Guide — the definitive app for America's Main Street — PDR Heritage Roads brings the same depth of scholarship and passion for American road history to the Pacific Coast Highway.

Strap in. The coast is calling.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.50 — 2026-07-04

Version 1.5 — GPS Accuracy Pass

We re-verified GPS coordinates for all 124 sites along the route, from Washington to Southern California — cross-checking each one against current mapping data and, where needed, historical records.

Four locations got position corrections, including Seaside Promenade (OR), Brookings Harbor (OR), Muir Beach Overlook (CA), and Santa Monica Pier — each was pointing several hundred feet off from where it should be.

Under the hood, this builds on the coordinate navigation fix from our last update, so Apple/Google Maps directions should now land you right on target at every stop.

### 1.20 — 2026-05-29

Managing your favorites just got easier. You can now clear all of your saved sites in one tap directly from the My Favorites screen — no more visiting each site individually to remove it. A simple "Clear all favorites" link appears beneath the trip time card whenever you have sites saved. A confirmation prompt protects against accidental deletions.

### 1.12 — 2026-05-21

Fixed audio narration problem on site #7.

### 1.1 — 2026-05-20

No release notes.
