## What is Pack Pulse Start?

Pack Pulse Start is a local-first departure-readiness workspace for travelers who need more than a generic checklist. Build journey loadouts by person and bag, watch weight against limits you configure, clear manual departure gates, and learn from what you actually used.

DEPARTURE BRIEF
See packed progress, planned weight, open blocking checks, days to departure, per-bag load, and the next useful action in one operational view.

BAG LOADOUTS
Assign every item to a traveler and container. Record quantity, per-item weight, priority, notes, and whether it is planned, staged, packed, worn in transit, or intentionally sourced at the destination. Pack Pulse flags unresolved critical items, unassigned items, and loads over your configured bag limit.

FOCUS PACKING
Work one item at a time instead of scanning a long list. Critical items lead the queue, and you can narrow the pass to one container. Mark an item packed and the next unresolved item appears.

MANUAL DEPARTURE GATE
Work through checks organized for before travel day, the day before, at the door, and on arrival. Blocking and advisory findings remain visible until you resolve them. Every gate is a manual confirmation; Pack Pulse does not claim to verify carrier, government, security, health, document, or destination rules automatically.

RETURN DEBRIEF
Mark each item used, unused, forgotten, or needing replacement. The app creates factual next-trip suggestions from those saved outcomes, including unused weight and items that should be promoted or repaired.

PRIVATE, PORTABLE RECORDS
Journeys are stored in the app's local container. Export all journeys as a JSON archive through the Apple share sheet. No account, cloud backend, advertising, tracking, third-party analytics SDK, subscription, or in-app purchase is required.

Pack Pulse Start is a planning and manual verification tool. Confirm current requirements with the carrier, government agency, healthcare professional, or other authoritative source responsible for them.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-23

Pack Pulse Start 1.4 is a ground-up rebuild centered on departure readiness and bag operations.

- Build journey loadouts by traveler and container.
- Track quantity, item weight, bag limits, priority, assignment, and packing stage.
- Pack one unresolved item at a time with critical items first.
- Resolve a manual departure gate grouped by time window.
- Review used, unused, forgotten, and replace outcomes after a trip.
- Turn saved outcomes into factual next-trip suggestions.
- Export a portable JSON journey archive.
- Use an adaptive iPhone layout and native iPad sidebar.

No account, cloud backend, subscription, advertising, analytics, tracking, remote configuration, or hidden feature was added.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-23

Packing insights, on a new tab. See clear charts of what you pack most, how complete your bags are by category, and where the items you always forget tend to pile up — plus a quick look at which trip is coming up next. Everything is calculated right on your device from your own trips.

Packing reminders. Open any trip and switch on a reminder to get a nudge one day, two days, three days, or a week before you leave. It is a normal on-device notification, so it works with no account and nothing leaving your phone.

Backup and restore. Save every trip, packing list, and your always-pack memory to a single file you can keep in Files, AirDrop to a new phone, or email to yourself. Loading it back lets you either replace what is on the device or merge the backup in without losing anything.

As always, Pack Pulse stays fully offline — no account, no ads, and no tracking.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-19

What's New

Version 1.2 (Build 7)

Pack Pulse Start now does what its name always promised: it builds a real, per-item packing list and remembers what you forgot.

NEW - Smart packing list generator
- Tell Pack Pulse your trip type, number of nights, weather, laundry access, whether it's international, and your planned activities, and it generates a complete, categorized packing list on-device.
- Quantities scale to trip length and drop when you have laundry, so a short carry-on trip gets a short list.
- Duplicate suggestions are merged automatically, and documents and electronics surface first.

NEW - Check off individual items
- Each trip now holds real, checkable items grouped by category, with per-item quantities and an "Essential" badge for documents, medication, and chargers.
- A pack-progress bar fills as you go, an unpacked-essentials warning keeps the critical items front and center, and "Mark all packed" closes out a finished bag.
- Add or delete any item, or start a fully blank trip and build it by hand.

NEW - Always-pack memory
- Record the things you always leave behind, and every list you generate from then on includes them automatically, tagged "Forgot before."
- One tap after a trip remembers everything you didn't pack, so it won't slip through next time.

Also in 1.2
- New item-level packing CSV export (one row per item across all trips), plus the existing trip summary and trips CSV. The text summary now includes each trip's full packing list.
- The Today smart brief now reports packing progress and unpacked essentials across your open trips.
- Sample trips ship with generated packing lists and an always-pack memory so the app is useful the moment you open it.
- The Info screen now reads the real version and build, and links to the always-pack memory.

Everything stays fully offline - no account, no ads, no tracking, and no permissions requested. One-time purchase, no subscription.
