Developer responded directly confirming the policy was outdated boilerplate and the actual stack is limited to Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and iCloud sync. Has committed to updating both the privacy policy and App Store labels to reflect reality. Raising to 3 stars on the basis of the response and the clarified actual stack. Will revisit once the updated policy and labels are published. The app itself is solid after 9 years of development, iCloud sync works well, and the new CSV export is very useful. **Developer response:** Thank you for the detailed feedback. You're right to flag this. The iubenda privacy policy is outdated boilerplate that was never properly updated. Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Intercom, and Fabric Answers are not integrated in the app. We're updating the policy and App Store privacy labels to accurately reflect what we actually use: Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and iCloud sync. We appreciate your patience while we get this corrected. ### 2/5 — Heavy third-party tracking not reflected in App Store labels *2026-04-14, version 1.6.1* The app works well and the iCloud sync is reliable. My issue is with what is not disclosed clearly. The UK App Store privacy label shows only “Data Not Linked to You: Identifiers, Usage Data, Diagnostics.” The iubenda privacy policy discloses a different picture: Meta Pixel conversion tracking, Google Ads conversion tracking, Google Analytics with cross-device User ID extension, Intercom with email collection and user profiling, Firebase Remote Config for A/B testing, and Crashlytics collecting geographic position. Data is processed in the United States across multiple Meta and Google services. The policy also references Universal Analytics (sunset by Google in July 2023) and Fabric Answers (deprecated in 2020). Either the SDK stack is out of date or the policy is stale. Neither is reassuring. For a paid packing list app at £9.99 per year, this is a heavier ad-tech stack than free competitors. I would expect either a thinner analytics footprint or clearer disclosure in the App Store labels. Ich verwende ein Dutzend Listen für den Sport- und Hobbybereich, so dass ich nichts mehr vergesse. Die App läuft sehr stabil und die Synchronisation geht perfekt vonstatten, was mir deutlich wichtiger ist, als bunter Schnickschnack und zu viele Funktionen. Keine meiner mühsam angelegten Listen ging jemals verloren, Sicherung erfolgt zudem über die Icloud. I keep several lists going because the type of travel I do varies. I like to go back - see what items I used versus what I missed. Help selection is nonfunctional. It just opens a draft help email. I did that. Days later there has been no answer. Time to get Apple to refund the purchase. Some normal features need explanations and “how to”. I created two lists but they disappeared immediately and could not be retrieved. Save your money. Has potential ### 1/5 — Why did they ruin this app? *2025-11-03* This app was so good and I loved it. I had to replace an old one I used for years and this was perfect. Until today. When I go to use it and can’t get a whole page view of my list on my iPad. It has a split screen. I only use it on my iPad and can’t seem to change the setting back to what it was. If I wanted to see a tiny list I’d use it on my phone!! I just want my big list back. Will dump this and get another app, because I need to use it. Such a pity. The split view design was introduced to make multitasking and organizing multiple lists easier, but we completely understand that some users prefer the previous fullscreen experience. Gone! The list disappeared on the Mac. No list on either device. I did my research and decided to go with this app, Packing List Checklist. It was important to me to be able to import some of my lists from the old app. When I ran into a roadblock, I emailed the developer. Within the hour (maybe less) he responded and guided me thru the steps. He was awesome!!!! It’s hard to find this great of customer support and I really appreciated it. And the app, I’ve already used it for 2 trips in 2 weeks and I love it! I’ve used packing lists that I created in Word tables for years, for business and leisure. I have different lists for different types of trips. This app saves me from printing out my list and checking things off with a pen. Then adding all kinds of notes for reminders. With the app, I just use my phone to check things off, add things as I go, and delete things I don’t need. I just entered all my items by categories - and it feels the same as when I printed it out. I feel confident that I packed everything I need. And the reminder checklist of leaving the house stuff is there too.
