### 3/5 — HELPFUL CRITIQUE

*2026-07-13, version 2026.7*

Add interval workout options, try and cater more to heart rate zone trainings and not just trying to get good times for your paddles, if this was a all around paddling workout app it would have more potential for a lot of paddler to choose this app for all there paddling needs

*2026-06-25*

**Developer response:** Hi there, please reach out to us via Help & Support so we can look into this further. It may be that there are some additional permissions that need granting in order for the calorie data to sync to Apple Health.

### 2/5 — Map shifting occurs in mainland China.

*2026-06-07*

It is well understood that map offset issues exist in mainland China. However, unexpected problems have occurred during actual use due to this offset.

Specifically, I have noticed significant discrepancies between the starting and ending points of the GPS maps when syncing data to the Apple Fitness app. The starting point correctly matched the system map's location. However, shortly after starting, the positioning immediately shifted to another spot several hundred metres away.

Consequently, the rest of the map was recorded with this offset, and only the initial portion remains accurate to the actual map. If the entire map were offset, it would be understandable and acceptable. However, the current issue is quite strange and hard to accept.

When I open the map in the app, it appears correct despite the offset because the entire thing is shifted consistently. This is different from what I see in the fitness app, where only the starting section is not offset while everything else is, which creates a misalignment.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for leaving us a review. Unfortunately there are some map offset issues in some countries including China that are out of our control. We try our best to reduce how much these affect you tracking your sessions, but if you feel it's not working as expected please reach out to us via Help & Support so we can look into this further and fix it. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Good but I already have Strava

*2026-05-28, version 2026.5*

3 days trial of the pro version is stingy. This app doesn’t seem to do much more than my Strava app for what I need it for (local lakes and rivers in Michigan), I don’t need another subscription when Strava does more than this app does (besides maybe show you wind speed?)

### 2/5 — Kostenlos funktioniert super

*2026-05-23*

**Developer response:** Hi there, I'm sorry to hear you experienced some problems. We don't recommend deleting the app since it does risk losing your paddling history, you're always more than welcome to reach out to us via Help & Support instead so we can look into any issues for you. The free trial period should absolutely unlock all the Pro features, so it sounds like something went wrong if your trial was not recognised. Since we were not made aware at the time we were unable to resolve this for you however we would like to offer you another free trial period so you have chance to test out the Pro features. Please reach out to us via Help & Support in the Account tab and we can issue this to you.

### 3/5 — Great app.. Except

*2026-05-20, version 2026.5*

Overall, I enjoy using this app. I moved over from PaddleWays and have used this ever since. My biggest problem with this app is the end session button. Twice now I’ve hit the distress button causing unnecessary stress for then people on my call list. There should be a clear button on the app to end the session away from the emergency button. It’s not well laid out. Please fix. If this happens again, I will go back to PaddleWays. Very frustrating.

### 2/5 — Wouldn’t work. Gave up

*2026-05-04, version 2026.5*

Downloaded at home prior to one of my last paddles for the season. Enabled location services. Saw there was a big fat go button to start my paddle. Great. Simple. Got out on the water. Sun in my eyes and on the phone. Kept hitting Go but it wouldn’t go. Kept bringing up all the stuff I had enabled and not enabled (like Health, which I don’t use as I have reacted - medical symptoms - to three major brands of Smart watches and can’t use them. Just wanted to track my route and my time). I exited that numerous times and clicked on every other option on the screen but just ended up with terms and conditions etc. Kept looping back to the Go button that wouldn’t go. Wasted 20 mins of paddle time. Deleted app and ditched free trial.

### 3/5 — Watch app has disappeared from my devices

*2026-04-21, version 2026.4*

Reported this issue and have had no response. It worked great for years so im disappointed it has broken. All my records are in the phone app so I don’t really want to have to move to another service. Hoping for a response soon.

### 4/5 — Gone from watch?

*2026-04-14, version 2026.3*

Been using g for a few years. Love it, but it seems to have disappeared from my watch!? Used it last week. Came to hit “Go” again this week and the entire app has gone from my Apple Watch

### 5/5 — Fantastic customer support!

*2026-04-07, version 2026.2*

I had an issue with the watch face freezing up getting locked in water lock mode. Contacted customer support and Holly replied very quickly. She researched the issue and stayed with me. Until it was resolved, easy, quick fix. Thank you, Holly and Paddle Logger.

### 5/5 — Love it! Highly recommend.

*2026-04-07*

Easy to use. Great value for the pro version. Unreal customer support! Thanks team!

**Developer response:** Awesome to hear thanks! Glad we were able to help and keep on paddling! 🤙 get in touch and share your sessions any time!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Apple Watch Stuck on KM

*2026-07-23, version 2026.9*

Emailed support several times to fix this issue and never heard back from them.

### 1/5 — dreadful

*2026-07-15, version 2026.7*

not at all intuitive, despite paying a lot of money for subscription support do not respond. I just can’t work out how to log manually, how to edit stuff. I consider this app to be an absolute waste of money.

### 1/5 — Too many permissions

*2026-07-12, version 2026.7*

I just want to use the app like I have for the past 9 years. I don’t want to type in my health. The app will not work. I just want to hit GO

### 1/5 — Use

*2026-06-13, version 2026.6*

Irritating as all get out. I cannot get my iWatch or iPhone to cease the damn app. It’s dangerous. I risk falling in the water and hitting my head on rocks trying to cease the damn app

### 1/5 — Keine gps Funktion

*2026-05-17*

Leider kein Tracking

**Developer response:** Hi there, please reach out via Help & Support in your Account tab if you are unable to track any sessions. It may be that there are some GPS or Health permissions that need to be granted in order for your paddling workouts to track and save. We'd love to get this sorted for you.

### 1/5 — dreadful

*2026-04-24, version 2026.4*

not at all intuitive, despite paying a lot of money for subscription support do not respond. I just can’t work out how to log manually, how to edit stuff. I consider this app to be an absolute waste of money.

### 1/5 — Not Impressed

*2026-04-20, version 2026.4*

I did not understand that you had to have Apple Health active in order to use this app. I don’t use Apple Health and therefore this app was completely useless to me. Deleting it and looking for another more flexible option.

Also ganz ehrlich:

**Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for leaving us a review. We're sorry to hear you experienced some issues while tracking on your Apple Watch. We wish you had reached out to us via Help & Support at the time so we could investigate this further for you. We are committed to improving the app and frequent updates help to fix bugs like this one. We would have been more than happy to resolve this had we known about it. It's not our intention to make tracking difficult or inaccurate and we genuinely want to help people improve their paddling. Your heart rate is tracked using the Apple Watch's inbuilt technology, so we do not make changes to this with our updates and if it was inaccurate this may have been due to something else. There are many things that can affect heart rate tracking accuracy, but we're glad to hear it was a one-off and did not happen again. If you're still having issues with tracking and data not showing on your Apple Watch please do reach out to us so we can look into this further.

### 1/5 — Very disappointing

*2026-04-07, version 2026.2*

This app does not work. The paddle plan thing is broken and crashes the app immediately. Without using a plan I can record a workout but when I save it crashes again. I’m a first time user and was recommended this app but will not be using again.

### 1/5 — Full Of Bugs For IPhone 12

*2026-02-26, version 2026.1*

Dont bother

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A “Must Have” App!!!

*2026-08-16*

I absolutely LOVE the Paddle Logger app! I started getting into kayaking and SUP end of Jan 2024. Someone suggested that I download this app. I love seeing how many sessions that I have logged, the split times, the mileage I’ve logged, the route that it displays I took, safety features I have access to (contacting others if I don’t return from a scheduled trip) etc.! I’ve been able to beat my 1 mile race time, time & time again and have pushed myself to hit certain mileage goals per trip. If you’re interested in all of the above, you must download this app! Happy paddling!

**Developer response:** Wow! Thanks for the epic review! It's awesome to hear how Paddle Logger has been a part of smashing your goals and it sounds like you've been working hard. Happy paddling!!

### 5/5 — Great app.. Except

*2026-07-14, version 2026.7*

Overall, I enjoy using this app. I moved over from PaddleWays and have used this ever since. My biggest problem with this app is the end-of-session button. Twice now I’ve hit the distress button, causing unnecessary stress for the people on my call list. There should be a clear button on the app to end the session away from the emergency button. It’s not well laid out. Please fix.

Update 7/14/26
The App developer contacted me, stating they are working on an update to the distress button location. Thank you for responding! I will continue to use this app and look forward to the update.

### 5/5 — False alarm

*2026-07-13, version 2026.7*

For some reason reason probably users error. Set off alarm, worrying family. Don’t understand why.

### 5/5 — I love it

*2026-07-13, version 2026.7*

The app is perfect for route tracking and logistics, I highly recommend it

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-06-16, version 2026.6*

It does every thing I need and want it to do and more. Shows the path we went on a Google map along with the speed color code. Time, distance plus more.

### 5/5 — Helpful support

*2026-06-15, version 2026.6*

I had an issue caused by myself cancelling a trial. They were able to sort it out for me and get me back on track. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Super App fürs Kajak

*2026-05-29*

**Developer response:** Hi there, thanks for leaving us a great review. We do already offer a feature to plot and explore new routes, but this could be improved by importing a GPX. We've added your idea to our list of things to think about as we work on future development of the app. Thanks again!

### 5/5 — Watch app back!

*2026-04-30*

Developers have reverted support so that you can still use it with Watch OS 10 which is what I’ve been using. They took that away but they’ve put it back presumably due to customer request so I think that’s highly commendable. It’s always been a great thing to use and I’m fantastically pleased that they put back support for my watch (10). I use it exclusively from the watch. I just wish customer Service could’ve actually told me about the watch issue! (I have now had communications, but it seems the original email went missing).

**Developer response:** Hi there, it sounds like something is going wrong here and we'd love to look into it. Please get in touch via Help & Support within the app and we can offer some further assistance to reset this.

### 5/5 — This app got really GOOD!

*2026-04-27*

I’m one of the OG app purchasers, I’ve been here since v1 was released. It’s always been my favorite paddle tracker because it’s truly designed for paddleboarders, it’s not one of those fitness apps that added SUP as an afterthought. This app is FOR PADDLEBOARDING and I love it for understanding our workouts and what we expect to track. My wife loves it because it notifies her where i am and if I’m on time or not (or alive!).

This latest version is AMAZING. One button workout starts, health app syncing, ranking and stats from all your paddles from the beginning of time, syncing photos to your map, it’s awesome and fun.

This is my only paddle app these days, it does everything I need for paddle tracking, emergency notifications, stats, workout reviews, you name it. This is the app for us.

**Developer response:** We're so glad you love the app! Thanks for your amazing review.

### 5/5 — The best!

*2026-04-16, version 2026.3*

Absolutely love this app. Usually inspirational as well as informative in my paddling life. One great thing is that it’s ever an issue fantastic Customerservice. If you paddle stand-up or prone, doesn’t matter you gotta have this.
