The course materials were well-structured, the instructors were professional and patient, and the emphasis on safety gave me real confidence underwater. The flexibility of the online learning portion was also a huge plus. My only critique is that at times it felt a bit commercial—there’s a lot of branded gear and upselling. Still, I’d definitely recommend PADI to anyone starting their scuba journey. ### 4/5 — Works pretty good *2024-03-28* It works pretty good but there is one bug and that’s when you tap on a video. It does not show the video it just has the audio but then if you click off the video and then click back on it will load. I don’t know why this error is like this, but everything else is very high-quality. ### 2/5 — App Crashes *2023-08-06* I had to log my dives on the website. Pictures don’t appear on the app either? Sincerely, PADI Customer Relations Support Team ### 2/5 — A lot of content but there are better ways to learn *2023-03-31* The app crashes constantly (white scree) I have to regularly restart the course, choose my language etc. There are no bookmarks or ways to note where you stopped. If I open a chapter it is instantly marked as read (with a read checkmark) and there is no way to see which questions I already answered. I think it would be great to take this stuff to a new level. PADI Customer Relations ### 4/5 — Not sure why reviews are so low. good app *2023-03-08* While you do have to download the content, it just takes a second or two. My only issue with this is that you need service or wifi to log in, so even if you have downloaded the content, you can’t do it offline which is inconvenient while traveling. Don’t count on doing your work on a flight or out of the country. That is the only reason I don’t give 5 stars, it would be really great if u could do it offline. Otherwise the app is totally functional and much easier to use than the website on a phone. Idk why the reviews are so low, I’ve had no issues with it crashing and it seems to save my progress well. the website doesn’t work for my iPhone so I’m glad I have the app. ### 2/5 — Log in/video issues *2022-10-04* I had various log in issues where the app would crash, or go nowhere once I entered my password and pressed log in. The videos - on about 50%, the image disappears once you press play, and I’m watching a blank screen with a voice over, this is not helpful for training and I have nothing else to do the training on. However, I can only scroll a couple of inches down a page, the scrolling is super laggy, then the whole screen goes white and the app crashes. No idea how I’m going to do my course because I don’t have access to a computer. So I am not able to do the exam! I was not able to start my diving course on time because of this! Even the diving school could not help me with it! I am super disappointed in the whole padi organisation being this unprofessional and not being able to provide a working app in 2025!!! But this is the most infuriating piece of garbage app that I have ever had the displeasure to download. The inability to complete courses when it’s downloaded off line and then simultaneously not alerting you to the fact that these aren’t completed has made me want to fly to the founder of PADI’s house and kick them in the face. It will almost certainly be forgotten by 99% of people who use this app as they will be caught up in the beauty of SCUBA. However this app is a scorn on the animals and wildlife that live beneath the waves and I highly encourage any marine life reading this to take arms and begin a siege on PADI HQ to find those responsible for this travesty. **Developer response:** Dear Lion. Even when you are connected some times it will dump you out of the learning module and back to the main screen. Apparently some modules will continually do this so you have to end up opening up your laptop and going online to see the information. It’s super slow to scroll, then it crashes the material and takes you back to the course table if content. Terrible courseware. ### 1/5 — Nonfunctional *2022-09-08* “More than 70% of the planet is covered in water” and apparently this also applies to PADI’s servers since it’s almost impossible to download anything. If you are away from perfect top speed internet (i.e. most of the world’s good dive spots) the download will initially stall out, then refuse to ever activate again, with only the cryptic message “Scorm package not ready” to keep you company. An einen akuten Absturz kann ich mich nicht erinnern. ### 5/5 — Die PADI App funktioniert *2022-11-29* Es gab immer wieder Probleme mit dieser App. Als ich IOS auf allen meinen Geräten aktualisierte, ging alles endlich, wie es sollte. Das eLearning finde ich inhaltlich und gestalterisch top. Der Zugriff ist lebenslang inklusive aller Aktualisierungen. Die Veröffentlichung in den verschiedenen Sprachen sollte schneller gehen. Einige Kurse gibt es leider noch nicht auf deutsch. ### 5/5 — Open water diver *2022-11-03* The app functions well, however this is about the open water diver because I want to prevent others from making the same mistake I did with timings. You should aim to spend only about four minutes on every single topic within each section as then that reduces your times significantly (although sometimes it can take up to 12 minutes depending how long each topic is) I did not do this at the start. The E-learning time guidance of 10-15 hours is really wrong. The dive shop I went to said they usually say it will take 21 hours, which seems more accurate. I spent about 30 hours on it although I spent to long on the start so without that slip up I still probably would have spent around 25 hours. ### 5/5 — Very useful *2022-07-14* You can either use the PADI app to complete your online training, great if you have good WiFi connection.
