## What is Pagio?

A month after the last page, most books start to blur. Pagio keeps the line you loved, the hours you put in, and the day you finished.

LIBRARY
There’s a place for every book: the ones you want to read, the ones you’re reading now, the ones you’ve finished, and the ones you set aside or came back to for a second time. Browse by author, genre, tag, or publisher when you’d rather start from a name than a cover.

UP NEXT
Line up what you’re reading next and keep it in the order you actually want to read it. Add books from anywhere in the app, reorder them whenever your mood changes, and the one on top waits for you on Home. Can’t choose? Tap Surprise Me and Pagio picks one of your unread books for you.

SHELVES, COLLECTIONS & SERIES
Shelves hold whatever you want them to: favorites, comfort rereads, gifts, beach reads. A book can sit on as many shelves as you like. Collections keep books in an order you set, like a reading challenge or your top ten of the year, and can nest inside each other. A series gathers every volume in reading order, so a long story stays in one place.

IMPORT
Already have a reading history? Bring it along. Import your books from Kindle, Goodreads, Bookshelf, or any CSV file. Pagio matches up as much as it can on its own, so you’re not retyping years of reading.

READING SESSIONS
Time every session and see how long you spend with each book. Jot a note without leaving the session, switch to night mode for reading in bed, and check your progress and your streak, which forgives one missed day, before you save. Follow your current session and page progress from the Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island, or your Apple Watch with Live Activities.

WIDGETS
Keep your reading on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen. The book you’re in the middle of, with buttons to start or pause a session without opening the app. Your goal and the pace it needs. Your streak and the week behind it. A month of reading as a calendar, for your whole library or for a single book. Each widget can follow whichever book or goal you choose.

GOALS
Set a reading target in books, hours, days, or pages, and see whether you’re ahead or behind as you go. Add a quiet reminder if you’d like a nudge, or leave it off.

QUOTES & NOTES
Save the passages that moved you and the thoughts they started, with the page they came from. Everything you’ve marked lives together in your library, ready to scroll, favorite, or share as a card.

CHARACTERS
Keep track of who’s who in every book, with a name, a role, a photo, and a line or two about them. Link your quotes and notes to a character, and everything about them gathers on their own page.

STATISTICS
See where you stand, then dig in. Four sections cover your overview; your collection by genre, publisher, format, language, and rating; the habits behind when and how long you read; and a history with a day-by-day calendar and your all-time records. Scope any of it to a month or a year, and turn a month you’re proud of, or a book you’ve just finished, into artwork worth sharing.

SEARCH
Search millions of books by title, author, or ISBN, or point your camera at a barcode, and add the one you want in a tap.

SYNC
Your library syncs across your devices through your own iCloud account, not a Pagio server.

OFFLINE
Add time, update progress, and browse your library anywhere, even without an internet connection.

Every feature is in the free plan, which holds a limited number of books. Pagio Premium, monthly or yearly, removes the limit.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.1 — 2026-10-30

Ever opened a book in your library and found the author's name written differently from the cover? We've been cleaning up the catalog Pagio draws from: names the way your edition prints them, publishers as they call themselves, translators and co-authors where they belong. When a book you already have could use the cleaner details, Pagio suggests them, and a tap is all it takes. Happy with yours? Keep it, and that's settled. New books arrive with the clean details already, and they're quicker to add, too.

Your reading session on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island got a makeover. The cover of whatever you're reading takes center stage, glowing in its own colors. Same timer, much better company.

And for anyone reading on an iPhone Duo: open it, fold it, turn it sideways mid-sentence. Pagio keeps up, and whatever you were typing stays put.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-09-28

Somewhere around chapter nine, a name turns up that you're sure you've met before. Every book can now keep its own cast: who each character is, the part they play, a photo if you have one. Point a quote or a note at someone and it stays with them, so when they walk back into the story, everything you noticed is a tap away. Six hundred pages and four dozen names, and suddenly it's a fair fight.

Reading sessions have a new look. The book's own cover fills the screen while the clock runs, and there's a night mode now, for the chapters that happen after lights out.

And if rating story, writing and feeling separately always felt like homework, a single overall score will do now. Half stars are optional too.

Stars aside, iOS 27 is out, and Pagio is already there. Your move.

### 1.5.2 — 2026-09-09

Pagio has widgets now, for the Home Screen and the Lock Screen. The book you're in the middle of, your streak, your goals, your month. You can even start and pause a reading session without opening the app, which is a strange thing for us to be proud of, and yet.

There's also a new section in your library, Quotes & Notes. It's just everything you've ever marked while reading, together at last instead of scattered across the books you found it in. Scroll it, favorite the ones you mean it about, share the ones worth sharing. Half of them will be lines you'd forgotten you kept.

Then there's the quiet half of the update. Local search stopped burying the obvious answer, so what you were after is usually sitting at the top. Books can be marked as gifts now, and your spending only counts what you actually paid for. Collection stats learned to plot money over time, which we tested carefully and then closed quickly.

### 1.5.1 — 2026-08-19

Book Roulette. You own books you have never opened. Everybody does. Ask, and Pagio picks one of them for you, with rather more ceremony than the decision deserves. It plays fair: nothing you've already started, nothing already lined up in Up Next, and never the fourth book of a series you're halfway through. Ask twice if the first answer doesn't sit right.

Every book you finish now gets a card of its own. The book, and the reading it took, in whatever style suits it. Keep it to yourself, or send it to whoever keeps asking what you're reading. No judgment either way.

Everything else in here is fine print, and we've spared you the reading. The book screen did get redrawn, though. That one you'll see.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-10

A reading app should be easy to open and hard to put down. We spent the summer on the first half. This is the biggest update Pagio has had since it launched.

HOME
Your library had quietly taken on a second job. Streak at the top, goals in the middle, whatever you were reading wedged in above the shelves. All useful, all in the wrong place, and together they turned a library into a dashboard. So they've moved to Home, which is where the app opens now: what you're in the middle of, how your streak is doing, where your goals stand, and the book you've lined up next. Your library gets to go back to being a library.

UP NEXT
You already have a to-read pile. It's mental, it's never written down, and it rearranges itself every time a friend won't shut up about something. Up Next is that pile with an address. Add books from anywhere in the app, drag them into the order you actually mean, and the one on top gets the good seat on Home. Start reading it and it slips out of the queue without being asked, which is more than can be said for the stack on your nightstand.

STATISTICS
The old stats tab told you what you'd read. This one tells you what kind of reader you are, and it brought receipts. Four sections instead of three, Overview, Collection, Habits and History, and most of it can be pointed at any month or year you have data for. Which genres, publishers and formats your shelves quietly lean on, and how much of your money agrees. Whether you're a morning reader who's been telling people otherwise, how long you last in one sitting, how often you finish what you start. History keeps a calendar of every day you read, your year laid out month by month, and a small pile of personal records that exist to be beaten.

MONTHLY RECAP
Sharing your reading month used to mean sharing a calendar. Now it means four artwork styles, ten backgrounds, three shapes, and a live preview you can nudge until the whole thing looks effortless. Eleven attempts in private, one post. Nobody has to know.

LIBRARY
And it didn't only give things up. Your authors, genres, tags and publishers used to live in Settings, filed somewhere between your reminders and the legal notices, or tucked behind your stats. Strange place to keep the people who wrote your books. They've moved into the library, each with a section of its own, next to books, collections and series. That's four more ways in: by who wrote a book, what kind it is, how you labeled it, and who published it. On iPad it's all sitting in the sidebar. Settings, meanwhile, is a deeply boring screen these days, exactly as intended.

Plenty more changed that isn't written up here. You'll bump into it.
