## What is Paint Vault?

Your entire paint collection, in your pocket.

Paint Vault is the companion app for miniature painters, scale modellers and hobbyists. Browse a catalogue of 25,000+ paints from 121 brands, track exactly what you own, and never buy the same pot twice.

SCAN YOUR POTS
Point the camera at a barcode and the paint lands in your inventory. Thousands of references are already matched, paint sets included.

KNOW WHAT YOU OWN
Your inventory, searchable and filterable, with storage locations, quantities, custom paints for anything not in the catalogue, and stats on your collection.

FIND THE RIGHT COLOUR
- Colour match: photograph any colour and get the closest paints you already own
- Find alternatives: out of stock, or switching brands? Get the nearest equivalent
- Harmonies: complementary, triadic and analogous schemes, built from real paints
All of it runs on CIEDE2000 colour science, the same maths the printing industry uses.

COMPLETE YOUR SETS
2,000+ paint sets are described pot by pot. See what is missing from a box before you buy it.

PLAN YOUR PROJECTS
Create a project, attach a reference image, pin down its palette and write your mixing recipes so you can repeat them months later.

SHOPPING LIST
Everything you are missing, in one list, ready for your next order.

WORKS OFFLINE
The whole catalogue, your inventory and the colour tools work with no connection. Everything syncs when you are back online, and your data is encrypted on the device.

Available in 9 languages. Free, with ads. Every feature is free - a single one-time purchase removes the ads for good. No subscription.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.18 — 2026-09-15

• First sync is faster and survives slow connections.
• You are now told when an update is available.
• Fixed: colour tools found no matching paint on a fresh install.
• Harmony accepts pasted hex codes; Find Alternative remembers your brand.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-11

What's New in 1.9.16

• Colour tools work on a fresh install again: Colour Match, Harmonies and Find Alternative could return no result right after installing. Fixed, and the catalogue repairs itself on next sync.
• Colour Harmony: pasting a hex code like #A52A2A now works as expected.
• Find Alternative and the Harmony paint picker remember the brand you last chose.
• Going ad-free (or Pro) removes the banner immediately, without restarting the app.
• You are now told when a newer version is available on the App Store.
• Signing in with Apple or Google from the Account screen brings you straight back to your account.
• New installs are offered to link an account after the welcome steps.
• Barcode scanner: UPC-E codes are read correctly; codes that are not product barcodes are ignored.
• Shopping list syncs across your devices on every plan.
• Clearer "Remove ads" screen: it lists exactly what the one-time purchase changes.
• Stability and performance improvements.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-09

What's New in 1.9.13

• Signing in with Apple or Google from the Account screen now brings you straight back to your account, with your email and plan visible right away.
• New installs are again offered the option to link an account after the welcome steps, so your inventory is backed up from day one.
• Barcode scanner: UPC-E codes are now read correctly, and codes that are not product barcodes are ignored instead of producing wrong matches.
• Shopping list now syncs across your devices on every plan.
• Clearer "Remove ads" screen: it lists exactly what the one-time purchase changes (no ads, offline use, Google Sheets sync, lifetime).
• Stability and performance improvements.
