## What is Palaner?

Palaner finds things to do, and the people to do them with.

Tell it what you're into — the music you love, the nights you still talk about, the things you'd never normally come across — and it learns. Every time you open the app, what's on in your city this week is already sorted, with your best picks at the top: gigs, club nights, comedy, talks, markets, run clubs, supper clubs, exhibitions and more.

It works in any city. Home or away, Palaner shows you what's on around you. It reads listings from Resident Advisor, Eventbrite, Bandsintown, Songkick and many more, then ranks each one against your taste, not just by what's closest or biggest.

Talk to it like a friend:
– "what's on tonight"
– "something outdoors on Sunday"
– "cheap techno this weekend"

It gets what you mean, and it tells you why each pick fits you.

Tap Interested on the ones that catch your eye, mark yourself Going, and see which friends are going too. Start a group chat and Palaner joins in, suggesting things to do that suit the whole group. Tap the bell on an artist to hear when they play near you.

Palaner is free to use. Palaner Plus is an optional auto-renewing monthly subscription that raises your monthly message limit from 30 to 300. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2.2 — 2026-10-22

Palaner now works on iPad: a wall of event posters, with Palaner's chat open beside it.

• Tap the heart or thumbs-up on an event and your face joins the row of people on its card.
• See which friends liked an event, and your own likes show on your profile.
• "Also going" now includes people who are interested, clearly marked as interested.
• People you may know: "See all" opens bigger cards.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-17

• Your Feed is now a row of tabs, and "See all" in a Palaner answer opens one.
• Ask Palaner to change your feed ("free only", "this weekend") and it does, with chips to undo each filter.
• Artist alerts open straight to the show, and search finds an artist's shows in any city.
• Improvements to signing in.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-15

• Palaner now speaks 20 languages, including German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and Korean. It follows your phone's language.
• Tap See all on any Palaner answer and it becomes its own tab in your feed.
• A new event page: when, where and price on one ticket, with Interested, Going and Book right below it. Prices show in your own currency.
• "Save" is now "Interested".
• Tap the heart on any event in your feed to mark it Interested.
• Tap the bell on any artist to hear when they play near you.
• Search any artist to see all their upcoming shows, nearest first.
• New Settings: one searchable list, and a Notifications screen where you choose what Palaner tells you about, or pause it all.
• See which friends are going to an event, right on its page.
• "Down for" now shows your friends' faces, so you can see who's keen at a glance.
• Tap a quoted message to jump to it.
• Invite a friend and you both get extra chats.
• Get a heads-up when someone in your contacts joins Palaner.
• Group chats: Palaner joins a new group unless you uncheck it, and ‘With my taste’ lets its picks suit you. Notifications show the group and who wrote. A quote shows who wrote it, and reactions stay put when someone edits.
• Endless "People you may know", and friend requests you can withdraw.
• Lots of smaller fixes.
