### 3/5 — Good but also confusing.

*2025-06-19, version 2.0.1*

So I had just downloaded the app and I was scrolling through the foods to see what can and can’t be eaten for the new diet I’m wanting to try, and I see a lot of things that contradict its self. The best one to really pop out without having to look is it says in the flowers and vegetables section that Yam is paleo, but Yams are not. It also states that potatoes are highly processed and toxic and that’s why they aren’t paleo. Same with saying that eggs from birds are paleo which had me thinking what other eggs are there? Fish and insect eggs or maybe platypus eggs? Though I didn’t think you could eat those anyways lol. Honestly I think you have to use your own judgment on most of the foods it lists. Like for instance everything to make a salad minus the dressings are paleo but if you get a salad from a restaurant it’s not paleo because it says it’s all processed foods yet it’s the same stuff you would buy from the grocery store other then any meats you may get in the salad. But anyways this is my opinion and only my opinion.

### 4/5 — Great

*2024-05-12, version 2.0.1*

Very nice app. Easy to use. All it needs is scanning ability to scan products at the store to see if they are compliant. Then it would be perfect and worth 10 stars!

### 4/5 — Helpful

*2019-11-03, version 2.0.1*

A good guide but not many uk products unfortunately so can’t search for much

### 3/5 — Pretty Good App

*2018-03-26, version 2.0.1*

This app is really helpful when I’m grocery shopping however the pop up ads are super annoying

### 2/5 — Ok

*2018-03-11, version 2.0.1*

Not a lot of food manufacturers in Britain included. I assume that it’s based in the US or Oz or similar.

### 2/5 — Great idea, inconsistent info

*2018-01-12, version 2.0.1*

Although I love how the app works, it will lead you astray on some of its answers. Dairy is never paleo but it gives a yes to some things for being fermented, and a maybe/no on other things that are fermented. I notice it also gives a maybe to skim milk but a no on whole milk. If you were going to consume dairy (like a primal diet) skim milk would be the last thing you would put in your body. Skim milk is as not compliant as it gets in dairy.

### 3/5 — Only Essential Apps

*2016-11-26, version 2.0.1*

Condensed. Not necessary to list the whole fast food chain menu. Just put the name of the company & why nothing is good from them. The app needs to be updated. Put a eat this not this section, with the core or foundation of the paleo diet. New ICON please.

### 3/5 — Great app but

*2016-01-17, version 1.4*

Has a lot of bugs.
Example eggs says no this is not paleo on top. However, it says enjoy this is 100% paleo on the bottom.

### 3/5 — Good to a degree

*2015-12-10, version 1.4*

This is useful in general but, as has been said some titles are too long unless you are doing a manual search. Also, there is a good deal of conflicting info i.e. Eggs not paleo but chicken, duck eggs, goose eggs, and "eggs from birds" are all paleo. Lastly, when I try to favorite something it forces the app to close.

### 5/5 — Simply Useful!

*2015-10-20, version 1.4*

Great little go-to app for a quick reference to see if a food item is safe for Paleo dieters. It saves me loads of time when shopping or considering a recipe. Thanks to the developers for keeping it simple.

### 2/5 — Great concept

*2015-10-13, version 1.4*

Loved the idea of this app and it's helpful at the supermarket here in Aus.
It doesn't remember searches though - eg. Type in Tea and it brings up a refined list of different teas. You select a tea to find out if it's Paleo or not, you want to look at a different tea but your search is lost. The only way to look is to type in 'tea' and start all over again.
Frustrating when you want to find something.
Agree with previous comment on Australian food types.

### 3/5 — Great idea

*2015-08-23, version 1.4*

I love the idea behind this but there are several foods that have conflicting information. When I tried to find a way to contact the developers their site wouldn't work and I don't see another way to contact them.

I have the same complaints about the names being too long so you can't ever see what it really is you're looking at. I guess it's work if you were typing out the name to search but just browsing it's frustrating.

### 3/5 — favourite?

*2015-07-18, version 1.4*

the app is really good but when you try and favourite something it crashes. also, it would be nice to have some more information when you tap on a food?

### 4/5 — It's not bad

*2015-07-12, version 1.4*

It's not bad but it's not great either. Some of the names of foods-example: When scanning snacks and fast food: there's not enough room on the line to say the whole name of the food-(Awesome Foods-Bell) is all it shows. I have no idea what that is because I have never seen the brand awesome food to before and I don't know what Bell is. So it doesn't really help me. They need more room to complete the names of foods.

### 2/5 — Almost there, but not quite

*2015-06-08, version 1.4*

This seems to be American based and may be good there but for Australia there are a lot of items missing. Good for general reference

### 4/5 — Good

*2015-01-08, version 1.3*

I like it, and it's a great reference for paleo foods, especially when just starting out, but I would like to know why something's not paleo instead of having to google every time I look up a new food

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — ADS!

*2018-04-21, version 2.0.1*

I have paid for this app twice and I’m still getting ads. Deleting now.

### 1/5 — Full-screen pop-ups; Ironic ads...

*2017-01-30, version 2.0.1*

Full-screen pop-ups every 30-60 seconds make this almost unusable. Plus, the large banner ad for McDonald's at the bottom of the screen isn't exactly helpful. Nor is the ad for Planned Parenthood. I just want info on the Paleo diet.

### 1/5 — Incorrect info

*2016-08-04, version 1.4*

This app says many things that are not Paleo are when you look them up. VERY misleading. This app would have me eating chocolate, cottage cheese, drinking coffee, wine and champagne willy nilly. None of which are Paleo. And putting diet sodas in the "may be okay" range? Ummmm, nothing could be further from the truth. This app seems to have a low carb diet confused with the Paleo diet. Diet drinks contain so many ingredients/chemicals that cavemen were NEVER exposed to, and that is the whole point of Paleo. To AVOID those things.

### 1/5 — Crashes all the time!

*2014-12-25, version 1.3*

Could have been the coolest app ever, but since it is ALWAYS crashing, it is impossible to use. Please fix this... :(

### 1/5 — Crashes without fail

*2014-12-10, version 1.21*

I would really like to use this app. Fix the bugs!

### 1/5 — App looks cool

*2014-12-09, version 1.21*

Continues to crash when I use it. About to delete unless there is an update in the next few days

### 1/5 — Unusable due to crashing

*2014-12-09, version 1.21*

Crashes every time I try to use it. Great concept, but does not work technically.

### 1/5 — Crash crash crash

*2014-11-30, version 1.21*

Horrible

### 1/5 — Can't use it!!

*2014-11-26, version 1.21*

I've just downloaded it but it's no point because as soon as you click on a category the app crashes and closes!! Pls fix

### 1/5 — Rubbish! App doesn't even work.

*2014-11-26, version 1.21*

Pretty much all you can do is open the app. When you click on "anything" it crashes every time. Pointless really.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Pain be gone

*2025-04-16, version 2.0.1*

I started this diet exclusively 100% after seeing a show on Dr.Oz that people with back pain went on this diet and their pain went away. My back hurt for 2 months, after being on this diet for days I started to feel better. I used this app exclusively for 6 weeks. I lost 11 pounds during this time, but most importantly, was pain free.
You will find some conflicting foods if you look at other paleo diets on different websites, but this one worked great for me!

### 5/5 — Simple

*2019-01-15, version 2.0.1*

Simple and nice

### 5/5 — AMAZING!!!!

*2018-09-29, version 2.0.1*

Paleo food helped me through becoming a paleo person. It told me what I can and can’t eat and why. It has helped me live through being paleo and seeing why the food I used to eat was filled with sugar, fat ect. 💜

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2018-07-27, version 2.0.1*

This app was a life saver...I had trouble figuring out what I can eat but now i know and am more aware and serious about my Paleo diet. One of my favorite parts about this app is the FAQ. The FAQ is so helpful because I learned a lot I didn’t know and now I am very aware once again. I owe it all to this app!

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2017-11-17, version 2.0.1*

### 5/5 — Works Great

### 5/5 — I love it

*2016-11-06, version 2.0.1*

Very helpful

### 5/5 — Love it

*2015-11-30, version 1.4*

This app is great! I was standing in the breakfast line and wasn't sure what I was able to eat so I typed in everything that they were serving and this app let me know what was paleo and what wasn't. Great app! I
