### 4/5 — I love it but...

*2013-05-10, version 5.0*

It's too hard to put palettes from my list into the viewer. It needs to be dragged in diagonally but more often than not that just scrolls, I find it very frustrating. Is there any reason why just selecting it wouldn't be an easier way?

### 5/5 — Favorite Color App

*2013-04-08, version 5.0*

Using this app is just like eating chocolate - hard to stop with just one (palette).

### 5/5 — Great Way to Customize a Palette

*2012-10-08*

Just bought an Ipad 3, and found this app. To redo my living room, I needed to capture the colors in my Chinese screen, as that will remain when all else goes. With my Ipad I could snap photos of different parts of the screen and learn the color numbers for the hues captured. It adds an extra margin of safety in decorating as i pull shades for my personal palette. It was so easy to use!

### 4/5 — Nice idea, but a bit flawed

*2012-04-08*

A few problems
   - App exits/crashes frequently. Doesn't appear to lose your work when it does so that is good
   - Can be very hard to activate a palette as the app fails to distinguish drag for a palette activation from scrolling the palette list.
   - Pulling a palette from a picture tends to find many similar colors and miss some more interesting ones. Aligning the picture helps a bit.

One feature request - it would be nice to add a gradient tool.

### 5/5 — Fab

*2011-07-27, version 3.0*

Revising an earlier review. I had trouble figuring out the delete function, so I emailed the developer, and got a QUICK response. Problem solved, and I love this app!

### 5/5 — Best Color App Around

*2011-03-16*

I reviewed all of the other apps available for the iPod Touch/iPhone and found this one to be far superior to the others. The developer has done an amazing job in providing a very functional and versatile tool at an extremely reasonable price.

I'd like to suggest the ability to load in full Pantone color catalogs. I also concur with an earlier reviewer's request that we be given the ability to both remove the borders as well as define a unique background color.

Once again, fantastic job!

### 4/5 — Great Update!

*2010-08-27, version 0*

This is the best Palette app out there. The latest update for iPad is impressive.

### 4/5 — Useful but not accurate

*2010-03-05, version 0*

This is a good app for finding and creating a mix of colours for web or paper. It will be very useful for me thinking about colour schemes when away from the pc. However, when it tried to extract a palette from a picture, it missed some key colours which were strongly present in the image. That needs fixing. But it's still good though I'm not sure why I paid six quid for it.

### 5/5 — Versatile & Useful

*2009-11-20*

I have 4 apps of this type and this is hands-down the BEST. It's easy to use and loaded with info. Play with it a while to discover all its capabilities.

I use this app a lot and have had zero problems with it. I love it that I can identify a color at a single pixel level in a photo up to an entire photo. From that I can get all sorts of info related to the color(s).

Very cool. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

### 5/5 — I'd pay $50 for this.

*2009-11-02*

It is priceless to a more or less color challenged web developer. I've used a lot of color tools, this was the most natural for both capturing (from a web page or photo or screenshot), fine tuning (with blending! and color wheel suggestions), and coming up with new schemes. Buy this.

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2009-10-18, version 0*

This is the PERFECT little program to create your own color pallettes! The best part is: UNLIMITED PALLETTES! This is the BEST color mapping app in the app store! *gives a big round of applause*

### 5/5 — Great little tool

*2009-10-17, version 0*

I bought on sale, but would pay full price for the decisions it worked out for me today.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Drag and drop

*2017-09-26, version 8.0*

Drag and drop to the palette doesn't work

### 1/5 — Frustrating App

*2014-02-08, version 6.0*

I can't create new palettes or anything! I try to drag everything to the pallet location and I can't do anything. As for the instructions, you can barely see where to go because the whole screen is black. Make this app more intuitive please!

### 1/5 — what happened??

*2010-01-19, version 0*

I used to love this app. I used it in brochure and web design all the time. Now that they have removed the colourlovers support, it's completely useless. What a disappointment!

### 1/5 — COLOURlovers

*2010-01-11, version 0*

Please, bring COLOURlovers back!!! It was the only reason why I bought this application in the first place!!!

### 1/5 — Removal of Colour Lovers

*2010-01-04, version 0*

This application has no use to me anymore, I loved the fact i could find color templates via colour lovers and export them to photoshop or illustrator. I'm a graphic artist and I'm upset that this update is a downgrade.

### 1/5 — 2.0 sham!

*2009-11-10, version 0*

Why the heck in earth would you choose to "update" the icon for an app (aimed at designers) an add a ridiculously disguisting "PRO" across it's icon?

What a strange choice!

I am holding back from updating to the latest version for this reason. I can't see myself wanting to use this app for design inspiration when all it's icon says is "don't click me!"

### 1/5 — Hmm

*2009-02-26, version 0*

Love the idea. But the app still crashes - a lot.

### 2/5 — Change the price with the new downgrade.

*2010-03-02, version 0*

Without Colourlovers support it is not worth the price of $9.99 and the author knows it. To be honest is not really a 1.99 app now. As it stands now it's barely a 0.99 cent utility. I rarely use this, and I dropped 10.00.

### 2/5 — Keeps crashing!!

*2008-11-10, version 0*

And yes I did restart my iPhone. I love this app!! But since the update it will not save anything!! :(

### 4/5 — Needs Support for PMS

*2016-11-20, version 7.1*

Needs Pantone Color Matching support.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great!

*2023-02-11*

I don’t even know what this thing does, really. I just wanted to give more money to the developer of MyStuff Pro. Such a good app.

### 5/5 — Best Color Palette

*2020-06-28*

It is easy to use

### 5/5 — The Best mixer color

*2019-04-03*

This are the best app, great vale! Happy for pay

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2018-06-25*

This is a game changer. I use a digital planner in GoodNotes. This allows me to pick colors for my “pen” to match my stickers. And added bonus, I can export the colors as Procreate swatches!

### 5/5 — I wish all my apps where this good.

*2015-06-26*

For anyone interested in painting from photos, or learning how color works, this app is an indispensable tool, particularly if you're working in pastels. It quickly analyzes the colors in an image or web page and creates a palette of 25 colors (or less depending on your needs). It's very accurate and has a color wheel analysis tool. It runs on my iPad AND iPhone. Simply great!

### 5/5 — Useful and well made

*2014-12-04*

Just found this app because I needed a way to organize colors and figure out some palettes. This app is great! It had all the convenience features I wanted and is very intuitive and easy to use. The only feature I would add is maybe a few more options to display the palettes and palette colors so that I can compare the palettes to each other better and also get a better view of the colors in a single palette. I wish the preview would let me view more than colors.

### 5/5 — Super useful

*2014-10-02*

First off, I want to say that initially I had a problem with the app functionality, and got in touch with the developer. He addressed all my issues, and the app works great now.
I totally recommend this app to designers or anybody who would like to create or save a palette of color. I find it to be so amazingly useful. I am still exploring it, but even in the limited ways I have used it so far, I find to be so awesome. Really can't say enough about it.

### 5/5 — Still the BEST!!!

*2013-12-29*

I have been using Palettes Pro for a long time and it is one of the most useful apps I have ever purchased (especially if you are an artist or designer). I am so happy the developers have continued to improve and supported it, unlike many other apps that have fallen by the wayside as the years have gone by.

### 5/5 — Lol

*2013-10-18, version 6.0*

The mixer is great for computer work though I kinda wished there was a traditional wheel for paints. Picking color and mixing is easy haven't exported yet.

### 5/5 — Love_it

*2013-04-11, version 5.0*

Use this app! Don't have time to look up web colors, need that specific color you saw in that graphic or pic, don't have a color picker and you work on your Ipad? This is it.
