### 2/5 — Inaccurate and not kept current

*2025-11-17, version 16.1*

This app could be excellent but lax attention to keeping information current makes it barely worthwhile. Alterra is apparently so focused on squeezing every penny out of its properties that it can’t be bothered to spend the funds to keep even its webcam feeds current, and don’t get me started on its inaccurate reporting on which ski runs have neen groomed. What a shame.

### 2/5 — Hey, come on, I like the new map. It was great.

*2025-03-04, version 16.0.2*

why give it to us and collect all this feedback and then just take it away with no option to turn it back on? yet another administrative misfire.

### 3/5 — Great App Huge battery Drain

*2025-02-18, version 16.0.1*

Love the app but when you turn on the GPS this thing drains the battery faster than a flushed toilet. Fix it please. I know others have the issue.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2025-01-04, version 16.0.1*

I’m constantly getting a “updated: (null)” error. Also the ops updates are all showing the timestamp “1 min ago”. I tried deleting and reinstalling. Nothing worked

### 4/5 — Live Webcams?

*2025-01-04, version 16.0.1*

Need to enable app to show webcams as live video

### 4/5 — Quality has fallen way off

*2024-12-19, version 16.0.1*

This app used to be state of the art but so far in the 2024-25 season the info for lifts and runs has become haphazard at best. On the Palisades side they just don’t reliably list which runs are open and if open, which runs are groomed. For example, they currently list the Granite Chief lift as open but all runs are shown to be closed. The Alpine side seems to be still good, so whomever is responsible for updating the Palisades side needs a kick in the pants.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t Track All of Your Skiing

*2024-04-12, version 15.0.5*

The app has great features for navigating the mountain and skiing with friends.
However, the app only tracks about half of the runs that I ski and lift/gondolas that I take.

### 3/5 — App has great utility, can’t turn off promo notifications

*2024-03-10, version 15.0.5*

App does a great job keeping skier informed about closures, openings and planning to visit the mountain. BUT…. And this is a HUGE BUT…. It automatically reactivates promo/offer notifications after you deselect them. EVERY TIME. This has been going on all year- and it’s time to remove the app and bookmark the palisades site the old fashioned way. There’s no amount of operations news that’s worth wading through BOGO happy hour app notifications or brunch with Johnny Moseley reminders. Infuriating.

### 2/5 — Skier

*2024-03-10, version 15.0.5*

If your going to sell so many passes at a minimum please staff the mountain! It’s overcrowded, dangerous and no hot food to eat. It’s a shame what’s happened to this mountain.

### 2/5 — Too many notifications

*2024-02-05, version 15.0.3*

Please add a function to enable notifications by location. I love having live updates when I’m in Tahoe, but don’t need them on a Monday at work.

### 4/5 — Far too many push notifications

*2024-01-04, version 15.0.1*

Helpful app for understanding snow and lift conditions and status. But far too many push notifications for promos are sent.

### 3/5 — Friends

*2023-04-11, version 14.0.7*

Friends don’t save and it it annoying to add them back every time and you can’t view other people

### 4/5 — Can you please support iOS 12?

*2023-02-12, version 14.0.5*

Really like this app, but I can no longer use it for tracking as now it only supports iOS 13.1 and up. My phone is still 6 which canno upgrade to 13.

### 3/5 — Looses data, previous years seemed better, upgrade issues?

*2023-02-05, version 14.0.3*

No recorded data for the 2nd half of my day
Also doesnt send complete info to Strava with map etc like it did in previous years, just see total mileage and 0 for runs and vertical

### 3/5 — Few changes to be made

*2023-01-22, version 14.0.2*

I really like the app but there are some changes that you need to make. 1 the lift wait time is inaccurate most of the time and the wait time is a lot longer than it says. 2 I don’t like that there is a time limit because sometimes the group expires when I’m not done skiing. 3 on the home page it counts the carpets as lifts and I think they should be separate and there should be a fraction of the total and the amount of lifts there are open

### 2/5 — Strava problem. Would love developer feedback.

*2023-01-08, version 14.0.2*

Absolutely love the app while on the mountain. Seems to track position of me and my group, lifts taken, and vertical feet very well. However, I am an avid user of Strava and the uploads to Strava at the end of the day never reflect what was recorded in the Palisades app that day. There are always lifts and vertical missing when it is transferred to Strava. Typically on the order of 50%. It happened last year and I had to resort to running both the app and Strava while I skiied which drains more phone battery. Used the app again today thinking it would be fixed by this season, but exact same issue for my son and I today. My cousin who did not ski w us today had same issue. Fortunately I started Strava while skiing today just in case. Frustrating.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Outdated

*2026-04-05, version 17.0*

After having to make an account, delete the app because it didn't work, have two separate codes sent to my email I finally logged in. And it says to use the Ikon app this one is outdated.

### 1/5 — Bring back this app, the Ikon app sucks

*2026-01-04, version 17.0*

So palisades decided to discontinue this app in favor of just using Ikon’s app. Please bring it back. We lost ability to get notification about important updates like lifts opening or closing due to wind, etc. we lost ability to be able to know exactly where on the map a specific trail is, and we lost all the unique achievements that made tracking so fun and challenging. Such a disappointment!

### 1/5 — Sherwood chairlift stupid

*2025-04-21, version 16.0.3*

I just came over to alpine from palisades on the base to base gondola ride and that takes about 15 min each way, I came over excited to ride Sherwood only to find that tree line top is closed. And I can’t access Sherwood. On the app however it showed that Sherwood was open and tree line top was open so I could access Sherwood, it also showed the shuttle was not running to Sherwood. Please make it more clear if top lifts are closed and if I have to board a shuttle to get there. I am not one to complain but it just wasted 30 min riding base to base!

### 1/5 — Ops Blog!?!

*2024-03-01, version 15.0.4*

OK 1 star is a bit one dimensional but come on - why is it so hard/impossible to navigate to the Operations Blog from the app - there is a whole tab called “Today” with info about how I do yoga but no mention of whether mountain is open… today. I’m happy to link out to the web but put a big tile at the top for it…

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2023-01-13, version 14.0.2*

Uses more battery than most other apps. Requires network connectivity….meaning, you cannot put your phone in airplane mode and have the tracking just use the gps. And don’t integrate with Strava because it will send bad gps data to Strava and Strava will flag all your alpine ski activities.

### 1/5 — No Apple Watch app?

*2022-12-04, version 14.0.1*

It says Apple Watch app but when I go to download App Store says requires iPhone what’s up with that?

### 1/5 — Completely useless

*2022-11-23, version 14.0.1*

I was skiing at Alpine. The app told me I was not on the resort and was hiking. Mega-stupid.

### 1/5 — Not updated

*2022-04-12, version 13.1*

The App isn’t updated with real time stats. For instance today April 12th it says 18 lifts will run yet another source (mountain ops) says 10. No grooming report!

### 1/5 — Great except it needs to allow larger groups

*2022-01-29, version 13.0.7*

Max group size is too small!!!!!! Please fix this.

Updating to 1 star to try to get the point across. 5 star app if they solved that one problem of too small max size for groups. It’s the only reason I use the app in the first place is to see where friends are.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2021-12-14, version 13.0.3*

App is used for mere seconds before my display goes blank, sometimes it will flicker back but other times I have to lock and unlock to get functionality back, hope they can fix this soon.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Loved the Tracking your friends feature!!

*2025-03-10, version 16.0.2*

Hit up Palisades for the first time with a few people and had an absolute blast! The app had a big part in that too as navigation would’ve been hopeless without it. The ability to track your friends on the mountain was super useful for regrouping and the built in achievement feature definitely makes me want to come back. I can tell that the team has a ton of passion for the project and it shows!!

### 5/5 — Skibidi

*2024-12-08, version 16.0*

Very skibidi app sigma need help ohio rizz

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-04-18, version 15.0.5*

I usually don’t review apps because I feel like they do the job that they intended. Someone definitely put a lot of thought into this app. I have poor vision, but I really appreciate the ability to track where my friends are and I can just push on their icon and it will zoom in their area, so I can see it! Thank you developer!

### 5/5 — Gud

*2024-03-31, version 15.0.5*

Very skibidi

### 5/5 — Deep POWDER in TAHOE!!!

*2024-02-29, version 15.0.4*

AWESOME APP

### 5/5 — Real-time update available

*2024-01-06, version 15.0.1*

This app gets real-time update all the time.

### 5/5 — Comprehensive Resort App

*2023-05-17, version 14.0.7*

This has everything you would ever need at a ski resort. Trail maps, lift statuses, and a scary accurate run tracker. Achievements make the day a competition between you and your fellow skiers. Finally, there is a full list of restaurants when you’re ready to finish the day off. 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Must have

*2023-01-25, version 14.0.3*

If your going to Palisades you need this app. Conditions, wind closures, maps are seamlessly integrated. 10x better than the epic app.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-12-21, version 14.0.1*

Gtg

### 5/5 — Old lady bumps and some beasts

*2022-12-17, version 14.0.1*

My guy and I are close to but not quite 65 yrs young. We’re on our first stop out of many Ikon touring. Well Palisades rocked it for us. We thought we’d take it easy but your beastly bumps and old lady bumps were so fun. We’re not ready to slow just yet. Thank you for the amazing experience.
