But whether print or digital, the one issue/problem I find abominable is errors in the print! It’s unconscionable to me that a news organization can allow such errors in a publication. I find them too often as if no one is proofreading. That problem will always keep you from getting a five star review from me and if I could have voted 3 1/2 stars, I would have. This app makes it easy to select articles for further reading and to share them with others. The arrows can be a little difficult to navigate where I end up opening an ad instead of going to the next page. I miss that. ### 5/5 — Great Journalism *2021-08-07, version 4.32.64* The Palm Beach post is an award winning paper and we should all feel fortunate to have such a first class publication in our county. I have read a newspaper from cover to cover everyday since I was in elementary school and I want the printed word to survive the electronic generation. It is great to have the convenience of reading the hometown news on my tablet or phone when I am out of town but nothing beats picking up the paper at the end of the driveway, pulling off the bag (and recycling it) and jumping into the days new, puzzles and entertainment. I hope we always have the paper option. So many hometown papers have closed down because people are reading their so called “news” on Facebook or other platforms that are nothing but misinformation peddlers. If we want this great country to survive we must read the real news from honest, educated, hardworking and award winning journalists. Long live the Palm Beach Post and others of it’s ilk. I like everything about it. You can scan Thur the paper fast viewing 2 pages or hit the fit button on the bottom right to blow up one page and move the screen with your finger. In 2 page mode click on any article & it pops up zoomed & readable. The format is very user friendly , easy to read, and the best digital news periodical interface I have ever used. ### 5/5 — Very unique, useful app *2021-06-05, version 4.32.64* This app gives subscribers the chance to experience the paper both in the way they would read it in the hard copy version as well as a very readable digital version of each article. I really like how you can see the actual newspaper page to choose the story you want to read, but when you click on it, you get to read the whole article-without having to turn the page :-) It’s a great use of technology that allows the newspaper to keep his character but still be easily accessible on a mobile device. Kudos to the developers! ### 4/5 — Newspaper app *2021-04-24, version 4.32.64* I’m happy that you moved the page arrows out of the way of reading. If I have to use the email (del when the app only shows the Accent section) I find that it has borders at the top and bottom that are bothersome. Also, the biggest problem with the app is not only just receiving the Accent section only and forcing me to use the email, but the "triple-play" on Accent! Not needed, not required and therefore it is a nuisance. In a hard copy of a newspaper a triple of the Accent section isn’t printed and inserted into the paper; a big waste it would be! Considering the software is basically the same as for iPhone, I do not know why the iPhone downloads work and the iPad does not! ………………………………….. For days, I have been getting an error message saying that “there was an error downloading the edition.” Unfortunately this means that there are unreadable pages. While my review still applies, it is unacceptable that a fundamental problem goes unnoticed or at least unresolved for so long. ……………………………………. My earlier review: Over time this app has become more and more user friendly. I am glad to see that they continue to work to improve it. Palm Beach Post has very good reporting and a good range of views on the opinion pages. Its corporate owner maintains the local news devision which is very important. ### 1/5 — We pay for home delivery *2022-03-08, version 4.35.16* Although we pay for home delivery,today as on too many other days we either get no paper or it’s delivered late but only after we call. Today we called twice. The first time we were promised a late Delivery. The second call told us we’d get the paper tomorrow. Will we? I have no faith in the promises made by this paper. The problem is we like the paper. But we don’t like the delivery issues. ### 2/5 — App Comment *2020-10-05, version 4.31.78* This was the best newspaper app in the past for reading the print addition on an iPad. I read many papers and this was, once again the best. If you’re now reading the print addition and you press on an article, you no longer get the full iPad screen digital view. You only get a 1/2 page with the other 1/2 page being the print version on top of the screen. Why? Jeffrey Price ### 2/5 — Terrible *2020-03-02, version 4.31.64* Have gotten a digital edition for years which was easy to use. This ‘new, better, corn is impossible. Can’t maintain a single page, is jumpy when moving from area to area, just difficult to get to any specific area you want to read. Keeps going back to double pages on screen which have to be fought with to get only one in the window. Can not understand what the Post thought was/is so great about this edition. Rather have it the way it was!!! ### 3/5 — Was easier before.... *2023-03-23* Having the paper displayed as before was less clumsy. It is harder to page forward and up and down-the screen is very touchy and I often have to double back. I find that when 2 pages are shown, I will skip over when I don’t see a headline that catches my attention. And because it is noticeably smaller, I probably don’t see them clearly and skip ones I may have normally read. Is it because your ads are more obvious now that these changes were made? I read three online papers and the Palm Beach Post works best. ### 3/5 — Review of PB POST App *2022-09-20, version 4.36.13* While I like having it online, there are glitches that remain unresolved. Every time I open it I get a message saying there’s a problem, do I want to ‘Retry’. I click Yes & the message appears again. I click yes again & then ignore it. Also, you should at least be able to update the online paper with breaking news. The major news in this app is a day or 2 old. ### 3/5 — Palm Beach Post E-edition *2022-05-27, version 4.36.05* The app is okay, not great. It frequently doesn’t load the current edition of the paper and you have to search for it in the e-editions. Sometimes pages are missing from the edition. The games: crossword,word scramble & soduku are a waste of space because they can’t be played on a ereader. Having electronic games would be fantastic! ### 3/5 — Problem with loading paper *2022-04-28, version 4.36.05* Almost every Sunday and occasionally on other days we can’t get the paper. A message says “no internet connection “, which is not true. We are able to get everything else on the computer and we have been in different cities and different homes. We have called about it. Usually, later in the day it will work. ### 3/5 — No history *2022-01-22, version 4.32.64* If you get interrupted/distracted while reading an article and the phone goes to sleep, the app refreshes and you lose the article you were reading and there is no way to find it again that I’m aware of. I am thrilled to be able to stay on top of not only local news, but state, national, and world news; with the thorough reporting in the Palm Beach Post. Delivery is seamless, and if I am busy and can’t read an issue that day, it’s always available when I have the time. So far, two weeks in, I've only ever signed in once. Past that, I am really impressed with the general concept and presentation. You get to see the whole paper page if you request the print addition. The headlines are readable in this mode. Tapping on an article of interest will zoom in to a readable image. A second tap gets you back to the full page view. If the article continues on a different page, the link is provided, and sends you there. Options allow you to select the section you want to read.
