## What is Palmtop?

Palmtop turns a sentence into a little app that lives on your phone — and lets you pass it to the people who need it.

Describe what you want (“an order form for this week's vegetables”, “a packing checklist”, “a poll for Friday dinner”) and the AI builds it, right on your phone. Open it, change it, keep it.

SHARE WITH YOUR PEOPLE • Send an app as a link or a file — through WeChat, WhatsApp, iMessage, email, anything. • Choose whether your data goes along. A filled-in list can be the whole point. • Circles: a family, a class or a team that share apps with one tap. Post an app, everyone gets Install; post an update, everyone gets Update. • Replies: a form you share sends its answers back to you. Orders, sign-ups, votes — collected in your Inbox, exported to a spreadsheet.

START FROM A TEMPLATE The Gallery has an order form, a sign-up sheet, a poll, a checklist and an expense splitter. Install one, then make it yours. Templates need no AI at all.

BRING YOUR OWN AI • Paste a free Google AI Studio key and Palmtop builds by itself on your phone. • Or install Palmtop Hub on your Mac, Windows PC or Linux machine and let the Claude Code there do the building and keep your apps in git. Your key and your apps stay on your device. Requests go from your phone straight to the AI provider, or to your own computer.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts. No tracking. The one server we run is a blind relay: it moves encrypted bytes between phones and computers and cannot read them.

Palmtop is for the small things software should have made easy years ago: the order list for your farm, the chores rota, the group poll, the tracker that is exactly what you want. Say what you need. Then hand it to someone.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.17 — 2026-10-21

• New starter apps for a first run: My Pills (scan a medicine label with your camera and get a reminder every evening), Tip Calculator, a sign-up sheet, an order form, a poll and a checklist.
• The starter apps and the Gallery now stay up to date without waiting for an app update.
• A clearer Welcome page: how to make an app, change it by asking, and share it with people.

### 1.0.16 — 2026-10-20

• Reminders: an app you make can remind you at a time of day, for example a medicine tracker that reminds you every evening. They arrive even when Palmtop is closed; see and remove them in Settings.
• Apps you make can read a photo with AI: scan a medicine label, a receipt or a business card and have the app fill in the details.
• Build right away: a free starter AI is built in, limited per day. Or add your own key: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral, OpenRouter and more.
• Pair with PriorStates Studio on your computer by scanning its QR code in Settings, and build with the AI you already pay for.
• Links in a mini-app open where they belong: a map in Maps, a web page in Safari.
• Back up and restore your apps, and get told when a newer Palmtop is available.
• Attach a photo or a file to a request, or say it instead of typing.
• In English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Español and Português.
