## What is Pamily?

Pamily is a small, private place for the lives you share.

It's a family planner that runs on your device — no account needed, never any ads. Birthdays, school pickups, the shopping list, the note on the fridge: everything stays on this phone unless you choose to sync or share it, and synced data is end-to-end encrypted before it leaves.

— What Pamily does today —

• Family Calendar — day, week and month views in each person's colour. In the Day view, tap a time to add an event or hold one to move it. Birthdays show up every year, double-bookings get flagged, and "Just mine" hides everyone else's plans.

• Calendars you already use — one tap from the Calendar tab. Follow school, club and holiday calendars by link and they update themselves. Show your phone's calendars next to the family's, copy family events into one, or import and export .ics files.

• School notices, read for you — share a photo, PDF or forwarded message into Pamily and it picks out the dates, ready to add as events and to-dos with one tap.

• Ask Pamily — on devices with built-in AI, ask what's on or what's due, or just say what to add. It runs on your device, and nothing is added until you tap.

• Tasks — a shared to-do list bucketed by today, this week, later, and done. Assign one person or several, mark urgent, set due dates, tick them off.

• Chores — repeat on the schedule you set and rotate through the family, with Done and Snooze right on the reminder.

• Notes — a digital fridge. Pin what matters, snap the school flyer straight onto it, attach PDFs, and turn any note into a checklist. The shopping list lives here.

• Meals — plan the week's dinners, assign the cook, and send each dish's ingredients to the shopping list in one tap.

• Nudges — a morning summary of the day, and after you save an event, the to-dos it usually brings, like a present for a party.

• Pamily (Family) — every member with their own colour, role, avatar and birthday. Quiet Wins shows who's been carrying the load.

• Extras — subscriptions and school fees, an Annual Rollup of your family's year, and a home-screen widget for today.

— Sync the whole household (optional) —

• Personal plan: sync your own devices through your own iCloud or Google Drive. Pamily never holds your data.
• Family plan: one person subscribes, everyone joins free with a QR invite — one shared workspace on every phone, updated in seconds.
• Everything synced is end-to-end encrypted on your device first. Servers only ever store ciphertext that cannot be read — not even by the developer.

— Privacy by design —

• No account, email, or phone number needed; sign-in exists only for the optional Family plan.
• No advertising SDKs. No data sales. No third-party trackers.
• Ask Pamily and notice reading happen on your device.
• Anonymous crash reports and usage counters (Google Firebase) help fix bugs — never the contents of your calendar, tasks, or notes. Opt out in Settings → Privacy.
• Local-only mode: one switch turns off sync and diagnostics entirely.
• Wipe everything from one tile in Settings; deleting the app deletes it all.

— Backup, on your terms —

Export an encrypted backup anywhere you trust — iCloud, Google Drive, AirDrop, USB. Portable backups use a passphrase you choose and restore on any device.

— Built for the everyday —

• 18 languages, with local dates and formats.
• Adaptive layout for phone, tablet and desktop.
• Accessibility — Dynamic Type up to 2.0×, large tap targets, screen-reader labels on every control, WCAG-AA contrast, reduce-motion respected everywhere.
• A komiks look — display type, mono labels, hand-drawn stamps — that doesn't feel like every other planner.

Pamily is built quietly, by one developer, in New Zealand. It will never sell your data, because there's nothing to sell.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.3 — 2026-09-29

Shopping sorted by dish, who ticked what, and a plan for two.

Shopping by dish
Ingredients sent from a meal stay with that dish: the shopping list and the fridge card file them under the dish's name, and the dish shows what's still to buy.

Who added it, who ticked it
Every line on a list says who added it and who ticked it off, and a note's History shows the ticks too.

Repeats that say when
Repeating chores and events say the day: “Every Monday”, not just “Weekly”.

Family Duo
A new plan for two people, each on all their devices: partners, co-parents, a parent and a grandparent.

Personal cloud on every device
Subscribed to Personal cloud on another device? Go to Settings → Sync & subscription, tap “Already subscribed on another device?” and sign in with the same Google account.

Ask Pamily thinks ahead
Tell it what's coming up and it offers the steps to get ready, each due in good time: swim gear packed the night before, a present bought before the party, cash for the school gala. It says what else is on that day, puts “we need milk” on the shopping list, and keeps to your words: no time when you gave none, not the whole family when you named nobody. On a scanned notice, “tomorrow” is tomorrow, and what the notice asks you to bring is due the evening before.

Also
• A family member's new phone gets the family's key without waiting for the plan holder's phone.
• Trying to join a family that's full now says so.
• Easier to use at large text sizes, with bigger buttons to remove list items.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-24

Small things that were missing, now in.

Delete from the page
Events and fridge notes can be deleted right from their own page, with Undo, and a task found through Search can be deleted from its edit sheet. Undo on a note brings back its checklist and attachments too.

Skip a chore just this time
Deleting a repeating chore asks: just this time, or the chore itself. Just this time moves it to its next date without anyone losing their turn.

PDFs you can see
A PDF on a note or an event shows its first page, and opens in a page-by-page viewer with pinch to zoom. Share it from there when you need the file elsewhere.

Also
• Tap a line in History to open the item it is about.
• Remove an attachment from an item's page.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-23

Reminders that keep their word, and a family that can see who did what.

Repeating reminders keep coming
A chore set to "every 3 days" now reminds you every 3 days, tick or no tick: the next few occurrences are always armed. Repeating events, the morning summary and subscription renewals keep coming the same way. Done from the notification rolls a repeating chore to its next date instead of closing it, and Snooze sticks.

Who did what
Tasks, events, notes, subscriptions and meals now remember who added them and who last changed them. "Recently changed" on Today and Family shows the latest, "What changed" lists everything, and each item carries its own History. Pick which member is you in the Family tab with one tap, and your changes carry your name.

Family changes
On the family plan, one notification tells you when someone else added or changed something. Settings → Reminders → Family changes.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-17

Pamily now speaks 18 languages.

Your language, your dates
Pamily is now translated into German, French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Turkish, Russian, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, alongside English, Filipino and Spanish. Dates, weekday strips, month names and number formats follow whichever one you read in. Settings → Language lists every language in its own name, or you can leave it to follow your phone.

School notices, in your language
The reading that picks the dates off a photographed or shared notice now knows the months and weekdays of the language you use: "18. September", "18 de septiembre" and "9月18日" all land on the same day. As always, it happens on your device and nothing is added until you tap.

Search knows its accents
Type "cafe" and Café comes up; type "tuan" and Tuấn does. Names and notes match whether or not you bother with the accents.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-14

The biggest Pamily update yet.

A day, hour by hour
Calendar has a new Day view. Tap an empty time to add an event there, hold an event and drag it somewhere else, or drag its bottom edge to change when it ends. Repeating events ask whether to move just that one or the whole series, and a move can be undone straight away.

School notices, read for you
Share a photo, a PDF or a forwarded message into Pamily and it picks out the dates, ready to add as events and to-dos with one tap. The reading happens on your device, and anything you don’t add is kept as a note on the fridge.

Ask Pamily
On devices with built-in AI, ask what’s on Thursday, what’s due, or whose birthday is next, or just say what to add: “dentist Tuesday 9am with Lia”. It runs on your device, nothing is added until you tap, and you can talk instead of typing. You can scan a notice with the camera from here, too.

The calendars you already use
Follow school, club and holiday calendars by link, and they keep themselves up to date. Show your phone’s calendars next to the family’s, or copy family events into a calendar you already use. Calendar files (.ics) import and export, too. It’s all one tap from the Calendar tab, on the new Other calendars button beside Day, Week and Month, and an empty week offers to follow your school’s calendar.

Small things that add up
• Birthdays show on the calendar every year, from each person’s date of birth.
• Save a party and Pamily offers the present and the RSVP as to-dos.
• A morning summary: one notification with the day’s events and to-dos, at the hour you choose.
• “Just mine” clears away everyone else’s plans.
• A task can be for several people: one tick closes it for everyone, and everyone gets the credit.
• Chores can repeat on the weekdays you pick.
• Each day on the calendar shows its meals.
• Swipe between weeks and months, and choose the day your week starts.
• Sticky notes show the whole note, and pinning takes one tap.

Fixed
• Repeating events now show, and remind you, on every date they happen, not just the first.
