## What is Panjo?

Panjo turns music learning into a playful habit.

Hear a melody, then play it back on a Caribbean steel pan reimagined as a spiral — the same shape a sea shell grows in, and the natural arc of your thumb. Each round adds a note, so the song builds up under your fingers.

Pick how hard you want it: Beginner shows colours and note names, Advanced drops the names, and Expert goes fully monochrome for five times the reward. Earn coins, climb levels, and unlock 35 illustrated trophies.

Play solo, or start a band and share a song with up to three friends in real time.

No account required. Your progress stays on your device. Offline-friendly and privacy-first.

Full songs, and a stage that looks the part.

• Twelve songs now play their complete melody instead of a single phrase — Tingalayo, Yankee Doodle, Oh Susanna, Deck the Halls, Auld Lang Syne, Für Elise, Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Air on the G String, Habanera, the Blue Danube and more.
• The play screen now sits on the song's own artwork, softly blurred.
• The notes strip shows every note in its colour, so the melody reads at a glance.
• A three-band equaliser joins the audio settings — bass, mid and treble.
• Song artwork now rides inside the song panel on the splash screen.
• Smoother swipes between songs, a calmer home screen, and bigger trophy art.
• Free play before you start: the pan is live the moment you arrive.

### 1.2.8 — 2026-08-18

Two new voices join the band: a singing oboe and an 8-bit retro console, free for everyone in this release. Every instrument in the picker now has its own hand-drawn illustration.

The scorecard got a glow-up: your finished song's own artwork fills the screen with a shiny verdict badge. Tap your shell count on the home page to see where every shell came from.

The big pan button now opens a dedicated practice room: pick any song and its notes appear as a playing guide, no score, no timer. Rotate your phone for two pans side by side.

Also in this update: smoother sound on older phones, fixed melodies for Pop Goes the Weasel and When the Saints Go Marching In, a dedication page, and plenty of polish.

• BANDS — make a band of up to four, share a six-character code, and play the same song in real time. Race head to head, pass a melody around, or split melody, bass and harmony and play as one.

• NEW VOICES — a richer, more realistic steel pan, plus violin and trumpet.

• TROPHY ROOM — 35 trophies with hand-drawn badges. Tap any one to see its artwork full screen.

• ARTWORK FOR EVERY SONG — each tune now opens on its own illustration.

• BUILT FOR TABLETS — real iPad layouts across the app.

• Sign in with Apple, a rebuilt Settings screen, and a lot of polish.

• BANDS: create a band, invite friends with a code or link, and play live — race the same song, pass the melody relay-style, or split the parts as an ensemble.
• CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE: every song starts with Beginner, Advanced or Expert. Beginner shows colours and note names, Expert hides both — and pays five times the coins.
• Original artwork for every song, and 35 illustrated trophies to unlock in the Trophy Room.
• A brand-new guided tour: pick your language, then meet the pan, the song panel and the trophies hands-on.
• The spiral now coils the other way (flip it back in Settings), fills the screen, and shows note length as you play.
• Fixes: song previews no longer cut out, the point chime follows your instrument, and Sign in with Google works again.
