## What is Pansophia?

Pansophia is an offline STEM reference for engineers, scientists, and students — 25,400+ formulas, compounds, and reference tables across 18 disciplines including physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and every major field of engineering.

No account. No ads. No tracking. No internet required. About a third of every discipline is free.

WHY PANSOPHIA

Every entry is curated, cross-referenced, and verified — not generated. When you need a decay constant, a beam capacity, or a CAS number, it has to be right, and it has to work without a signal. Built for the lab bench, the job site, and the exam desk.

The kind of data you used to search for daily, or flip through a mountain of handbooks to find — now in one place.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.0 — 2026-07-24

3D MOLECULE VIEWER — EXPANDED

94 more substances now render in 3D. Ions, solvents, indicators, and protecting groups that have no CAS number — and so previously had no model — now display full interactive structures. Over 1,000 substances now have 3D models.

3D structures now appear on chemistry reference entries, not just compounds. Solvents, buffers, catalysts, and indicators in the lab reference sections now carry their own interactive models.

Multiple forms per structure. Where a substance exists in more than one meaningful conformation or crystal form, you can switch between them, each with a caption explaining what you're looking at.

Conformer ensembles for 15 flexible molecules. Butane through octane, ethylene glycol, glycerol, the short-chain alcohols, glycine, alanine, the diacids, and diethyl ether now carry multiple low-energy conformations with their Boltzmann populations — so you see how the molecule actually moves rather than a single frozen pose.

### 2.1.2 — 2026-05-21

A major redesign:

• Rebuilt navigation. All 18 disciplines on one screen as a compact icon grid. Each discipline opens to a visual button grid of its sections (Core Topics, Reference Appendices, Discoveries, Worked Examples, Canonical Experiments, Thought Experiments, Unsolved Problems, Methods) — no more endless scrolling through collapsible lists.

• Bigger free tier. About a third of every discipline is free, forever — no account, no time limit, no favorites picker. The first entry of every section is always free, plus a personalized random selection so different installs see different free entries.

• Chemistry: new Chemical Compounds button collects all 1,212+ compounds in one place. Reference appendices now are split by topic on Chemistry, Materials Science, Math, Civil/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, and Computer Science.

• Streamlined first launch — dive straight in.

• Accessibility throughout: Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, Bold Text, contrast.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-05-11

Increased free content from 25% of 3 disciplines to 33% of all disciplines! Major redesign of navigation system to make it much more visual and easy to see the available content without scrolling menus. Multiple bug fixes including unrendered LaTeX, cut-off content, and misplaced concepts. Added ability to zoom onto function plots for closer looks, and added new plots for material stress/strain/yield, statistical distributions, and many others!
