A file you shared to Papel (an image or PDF, for example) could sometimes disappear silently — especially if you were using Papel without an account. Now it reaches you every time, retries even with tricky timing, isn't processed twice, and if creating a new collection fails you get a clear message instead of silence. The source app no longer freezes after sharing. Once the file is handed off to Papel, the share sheet closes properly and you can keep working in the original app. ### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-03 What's new Sharing and export in one place. The share button in a collection now opens a clear choice: share link, export as PDF, or export as photos. The same choice opens by long-pressing a collection on the home screen. Passwords on shared links now really protect them. Older password-protected links created before this version need to be cancelled and recreated. Smoother lists with lots of collections and documents. A collection created automatically is now named in your phone's language. Fixes. Sharing and export on tablets no longer shows an error. Scanned images no longer stop loading after the app is updated. ### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-08 What's new Papel works without an account and without limits. There's no sign-up on first launch — the app works right away, with unlimited collections, documents and scans. An account is only needed if you want cloud backup or sharing a collection via link. Signing out doesn't wipe your data. "Sign out" now only disconnects cloud backup — all your collections stay on the phone. Signing back in is free, so after reinstalling you can download your data from the cloud without paying. Lifetime access is always available. A one-time payment instead of a subscription now has its own card on the paywall. Fixes. A renewed subscription turns itself back on, no need to tap "Restore Purchase". The app no longer crashes after a purchase. Clearer pricing in currencies without decimals. ### 1.2.3 — 2026-06-16 What's new Adding documents from other apps. From Files, Photos, Mail or your browser you can use Share and Papel will appear among the options. Pick a PDF, photo or image, choose a collection (or create a new one) and the document is added. A PDF is split into individual pages, an image is saved as a single-page document. An invoice from your email lands in the right collection in two taps. The scanner remembers your filter. On first use, the "Document" filter is preset — it has higher contrast and a black-and-white look that makes receipts and invoices easier to read. The filter you picked last in the preview is applied automatically next time you open the scanner, so you don't have to switch again. ### 1.2.2 — 2026-05-21 What's new Brand-new document scanner. We replaced the third-party scanner with our own solution that fits Papel's design. The scanner now automatically detects document edges and takes the photo by itself when you hold the phone steady. After the shot you can move each of the four corners pixel-perfect using a magnifier. Readability filters are available (Auto, Document, Grayscale, Black & White, Brighten), you can scan multiple pages in one session, and pinch-to-zoom in preview. No external dependencies — everything runs on your device, no third-party SDKs. Better readability for receipts. Narrow receipts now have significantly higher resolution — small print is legible without zooming in. A4 documents stay at their original quality. Better thumbnails for long receipts. The thumbnail of narrow receipts now shows the top of the document (where the logo and company name are) instead of the middle. Easier to find what you need at a glance. Small improvements. Page preview in the document detail fills the full card width. Filter chips in a collection always show the count (even zero).
