### 3/5 — Works but app is glitchy

*2026-03-08, version 5.2.5*

App works but the logo identifier is useless; location services doesn’t work as it seems the developer hasn’t kept up with iOS updates. It’s a manual process but it still does what it says. Hope they clean up the bugs.

### 2/5 — No Longer Working

*2026-02-28, version 5.2.5*

I was somewhat skeptical of this app, but after paying for an upgrade and using it for several months, my junk mail has gone down. The logo identification feature almost never works and comes up with some really bizarre potential matches.

After upgrading iPadOS, the app no longer works. Whenever I try to take a picture of logo, I get a message stating the flash is disabled and I cannot add the mailer.

Developer has not responded to my contacts through the app.

### 3/5 — Works behind-the-scenes, but the app is terrible

*2026-01-10, version 5.2.5*

My main complaint is you have to use their photo recognition to find the company. It only worked for me a few times. I always end up searching manually, but I have to take a photo and wait for it to process.

The entry process for your name and address is very tedious. I don’t know why you have to fully enter a new address for each person. Can I not just use a previous entry as a starting point?

It just feels like they have never used the app or they would have noticed these

It seems to work on the backend though, and my junk mail has gone down significantly! So 3 stars

### 2/5 — Ineffective

*2025-11-30, version 5.2.5*

The app requires you to take a photo of the envelope to determine the sender. But it is almost never accurate. So I just take a photo of my table, which it categorizes as “Scott’s Lawn Service” or similar nonsense, and override it with the correct answer.

More to the point, it doesn’t work anymore, if it ever did. At first I saw maybe a 30% reduction in spam. Better than nothing, so I kept at it. Now it is practically useless. I have submissions from 4+ years ago that it confidently claims are “unsubscribed” and there they are in the mailbox again the following week.

### 2/5 — Cancel subscription?!

*2025-04-22, version 5.2.4*

Well 1st IF I got an email notice of pending subscription renewal, I didnt recognize JetLLC, so it renewed-also it seems after countless requests to stop so many charities requesting$ theybstill come-been a year

### 2/5 — App is poor, too soon to speak for the service

*2025-02-22, version 5.2.2*

It hasn’t been 12 weeks yet so can’t speak for whether or not the service has an impact but the app is very poorly executed. It effectively NEVER recognizes the sender or addressee when I scan mail requiring a manual selection every time. These are all typed addresses and any decent software should be able to recognize them with out an issue. Ten years ago this wouldn’t have surprised me but it’s much less than I expect from an app in 2025.

### 2/5 — Misleading, even with the paid version

*2025-02-08, version 5.2.2*

We paid over $70 for the lifetime version of this app, based on all of the positive reviews. However, here we are over 4 months later, and have had to resubmit a couple dozen unsubscribe requests that “FAILED”. What gives? It’s very disappointing. While we have went from receiving 20+ junk mail charitable solicitations per day to 10, that is still way too much. Please do better holding these awful vultures accountable!!

### 2/5 — Used to be decent

*2025-01-31, version 5.2.2*

This app stopped a lot of mail at first. But now it never recognizes the company when I take a pic of the mailer and all my recent submissions are still showing “processing” over a month later. The app really went downhill

### 2/5 — Borderline Useless

*2025-01-08, version 5.2.2*

The app claims to find the mailer by using a picture that you take off the return address or the brand name. That simply is a lie, as it does not work. You inevitably have to manually search for the mailer, and after finding it in the long list of known mailers the app promises to send a request to up to out. It warn you that it will take 6 to 12 weeks to do so. About half at a time None of that works.

### 3/5 — Decent but needs work

*2024-12-20, version 5.2.2*

Been a subscriber for many months however I’m very disappointed in the inability to add new mailers to the list. This is a major flaw

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2024-12-13, version 5.2.2*

9 weeks later, I am still getting most junk mail that I reported and it is not working at all. For example , Money Mailer reported on 10/8, Junction Dental Care still in processing submitted 10/8 and never sent. If this continues I would repot this app for fraud.

### 4/5 — Lifetime Sub not recommended here’s why…

*2024-10-26*

So I bought a lifetime subscription after using PaperKarma for about a year just paying the annual and I like what they do. I think it does help stop a lot of junk mail however I got logged out and I forgot the password and when I was trying to log back in, it was saying oh do you want to renew your membership? and I was like what is it talking about? I have a lifetime membership??? and it just kept going back to that even when I went for support so I give up I’m just gonna pay $25 a year because I do like the service and I guess they need the money so I do not recommend the lifetime because it’s not going to be a lifetime membership, just give them the extra money. They probably really need it…. or don’t be a member. Your choice.

### 3/5 — Buggy

*2024-10-06, version 5.2.1*

Adding names and addresses is buggy. It doesn’t update correctly between the address book and submitting

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-01-09, version 5.2.5*

I paid for an upgrade so I could add addresses. However I’m still unable to do that. And customer service has not respond to my email.

### 1/5 — Getting worse.

*2025-10-18, version 5.2.5*

I understand that removal of your name from various mailing lists is a tedious process. However, when I subscribed to this application years ago, the success rate was substantially higher. Right now, not only can the application never find the mailer when I take the picture with the app, even if the mailer is well known. For example, American Automobile Association.

But almost always, the submissions via the app result in absolutely zero impact. I continue to receive junk from the same companies three months later, six months later, one year, two years. Even repeat submissions for the same company do not result in any improvement.

If my success rate of having the junk mail stopped via PaperKarma is 20%, then even that is probably an overestimation. Not recommended.

### 1/5 — Please remove photo aspect

*2025-09-26, version 5.2.5*

Please remove photo of logo aspect as it never works - 100% failure rate - and only wastes users time.

### 1/5 — App is currently broken

*2025-09-25, version 5.2.5*

September 25, 2025- App is completely broken, nothing is working.

### 1/5 — Full of bugs

*2025-09-25, version 5.2.5*

App crashes half of the times I try to use it

### 1/5 — Not worth the price

*2025-08-16, version 5.2.5*

I decided to pay for this app because I get a lot of junk mail. Do not pay for it. I was supposedly unsubscribed from certain mailers (according to the app) but I’m STILL receiving mail from those companies. Also, support is almost non existent. I wish I could get my money back, because even though it wasn’t much, it’s still not worth spending if this company isn’t going to do their job.

### 1/5 — Pointless service- does nothing

*2025-07-31, version 5.2.5*

Still getting junk mail after 12 weeks, this app and service are completely worthless.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2025-06-02, version 5.2.5*

Won't let me register, it just gives me a vague error message that doesn't offer any helpful information

### 1/5 — Not As Advertised

*2025-04-21, version 5.2.4*

While the app has good intentions, it does not deliver. Does not recognize the addresses I submit by photo. Will be deleting this.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-01-23, version 5.2.2*

I spent hours and hours taking pictures of every piece of junk mail I received, only to have stacks of junk mail continue to come. So frustrated. I paid for this service and am still out of luck. I appreciate PaperKarma trying to help consumers, but this is a waste of time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-04-16, version 5.2.5*

I’ve used this app to unsubscribe from hundreds of mailers and for 95% of them, I never heard from them again!

### 5/5 — Reduced junk mail!

*2026-03-14, version 5.2.5*

When I moved into my condo as a first-time home owner, I was getting dozens of advertising mail every week for the past previous owners and there were many. I would see several different household names that the mail was addressed to. I’ve been using this app for 4 years since I moved in and have seen a big difference in the reduced mail I get now. It took a few weeks/months to see the majority of the mail reduce. Now I only get mail addressed to me (with an occasional random mail to someone else) but I can even eliminate the ones I don’t want to get. As I keep getting mail from random companies, I keep using this app. The companies I request to stop sending mail, do actually stop. This has been such a useful service and is really worth it. So grateful it exists.

### 5/5 — Give it a couple months and you’ll start to notice the difference.

*2026-01-31, version 5.2.5*

We’ve been using PaperKarma for several months now, and the difference really stood out when we went out of town. When we returned, we had only about a sixth of the mail we’d received during the same trip the previous year.

Last year, after placing a mail hold with the post office, we came home to nearly five pounds of mail—almost all of it junk, aside from a few holiday cards from family and friends. This year, after using PaperKarma and being gone for the same amount of time, we had only a couple of advertising pieces. Everything else was legitimate mail from friends, family, or businesses we actually needed to hear from.

Be patient—you’ll see that it works. Keep taking photos of the mailers you don’t want, and over time the junk pile really does shrink.

### 5/5 — Best app to save time and the environment

*2025-07-13, version 5.2.5*

I was so sick of getting junk mail when I read about Paper Karma in a substack article. It’s the best $25 I ever spent. Not only do I not have to spend hours sorting through junk mail for recycling, garbage and shredding, but our mail has been reduced to a maximum of one or two pieces a day, when previously it was 7 to 10 pieces a day. Junk mail pollutes our environment. It also wastes our time. Get Paper Karma today and save yourself the hassle. Just a few minutes a day and within a few weeks you will notice a huge difference in the amount of junk that comes into your house.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-07-12, version 5.2.5*

I was just scrolling through two years worth of unsubscribed mailers and enjoyed seeing the names of many many mailers that I have stopped receiving mail from.

### 5/5 — My favorite app of all time

*2025-05-14, version 5.2.5*

Paper Karma has completely stopped all our junk mail. I tried repeatably to stop Amex card offers but they kept on coming until Paper Karma. It did take a little time to get off the lists but it works. We hardly get any mail these days. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — This app works

*2025-03-12, version 5.2.2*

It just works - 5 stars because I haven’t received any junk postage in the last 2 months. Thank you for saving me from this spam nightmare 🙏🏼

### 5/5 — Works and makes a difference!

*2024-06-02, version 5.2.0*

I have been using this app since 2015 to make a visible dent on junkmail. I am happy to report that this app really works: The reporting process it follows actually leads to results, and it makes it pretty seamless to request to be taken off list.

It's great to have a way to fight back because the truth is advertisers don't think you'll take the time.

### 5/5 — Would give 6 stars if I could

*2024-04-19, version 5.1.15*

Amazing app. Easy to use, and does exactly what it says it does. My junk mail has gone down to zero. Absolutely love it

### 5/5 — Look forward to junk mail now!

*2024-03-14, version 5.1.14*

We have a lot of folks at our address and make a lot of orders and donations. So I was swimming in junk. Now with Paper Karma I can take action and it’s fun. I laugh because now I’m excited to get the mail to see if I can send in more junk!
