Long and confusing sign up process. Immediately deleting now. **Developer response:** We apologize for displaying the Washington Post. They were on the app in previous monthes. ### 1/5 — Worst onboarding *2020-11-19* The biggest mistake an app can make in a world of spam emails and privacy concerns, is make it's first onboarding page a mandatory email request. I want to experience the app a little before I begin handing over my data. **Developer response:** Hi, we've removed the overly complex onboarding process. We hope you find it easier to get onboarded. ### 1/5 — Portrait mode only? *2020-10-12* The login screen is portrait mode only, so it doesn’t work properly on an iPad. I assume the rest of the app is similarly broken, so I didn’t waste my time registering for it. When they fix this to allow landscape mode like other proper apps, I will try it again. Until then: deleted. ### 1/5 — Prompts You to Sign Up Right Away *2020-09-29, version 4.0.3* As soon as you open the app, you’re forced to either sign up or log in. There’s no way around it. Can’t check it out first before deciding if you want to give them your email address. Instant delete. **Developer response:** We now have Sign in with Apple, which allows you to hide your email address. ### 1/5 — Where's the explore page? *2020-09-12, version 4.0.0* I'm not able to find the explore page. It only lets me search by publication and not topics like the description says. And when I try to contact you, the link doesn't work. **Developer response:** Hi, Apologies for the misleading text in the search bar. This is an upcoming feature. Also, tap on the + button on the upper right hand corner to find a page where you can discover new publishers. Sometimes while trying to read an article, sometimes when just moving through the app. Can’t even find a way to contact the developers of the issue so guess my review will have to suffice. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for pointing this out. We are working to fix the issue. ### 2/5 — ADD DARK MODE *2020-10-27, version 4.0.4* can’t read. please add dark mode. ### 3/5 — Good start but needs more sources & dark mode *2023-11-16* It’s a clean app but I currently have no reason to use it over any other news aggregator given a lack of sources.
