### 3/5 — Have to buy the MacOS app again

*2026-08-30, version 3.8.5*

I’ve been a user of Paprika for over a decade. Love the app. But with a recent MacOS upgrade I’m being told I have to buy the Paprika app all over again. Not happy.

### 4/5 — Missing an old feature

*2026-08-22, version 3.8.5*

I’ve been using Paprika since it started as a free app. Recently, something changed when you copy a URL into the app browser. In older versions, it would auto detect a copied URL and open the appropriate web page in the app’s browser. Now, you need to delete the preloaded URL and paste the new one. Not a huge deal, but would move the app from 4.5* to 5*. Great app guys.

### 3/5 — Sync and Notes tab please 🙏

*2026-08-19, version 3.8.5*

I generally like paprika but...
- true calendar SYNC please! aka “subscribed“ calendar not manual export that I’m supposed to remember each time i want add to Calendar app
- recipe view needs tabs for Notes! (and maybe Nutrition Facts) next to existing tabs Ingredients and Directions please!

- sometimes I want to view more than one store at once, as a merged list, not actually moving items between lists. That way, I can easily look in store X, when I'm there, for things I usually or preferably buy at store Y. Sometimes any store will do, just to get what I need. Other times, only one store ever has what I need. So combining several stores' lists as a view, as needed and on-the-fly, would solve all my problems and probably bring peace to Earth.

### 2/5 — Didn’t download Instagram/facebook recipes

*2026-08-14, version 3.8.5*

Great price but you have to copy/paste internet URL into paprika. Might as well use Pinterest for free.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-06, version 3.8.5*

So easy and simple to either import recipes or type them in using the predictive text. I do wish you could filter by categories more precisely. At the moment, you can’t isolate to something that’s in both categories, it slams both categories together.

### 5/5 — Fantastic for recipes and more if you get creative

*2026-08-06, version 3.8.5*

FEATURE REQUEST: give us a button for the Google News app. (Currently, need to send to external browser then share to Paprika from there.).

I love this app. I picked it up years ago as we started on our seafaring cruising life to keep recipes. I normally don’t use them for cooking unless it’s baking but this app lets me save them ALL. I now have quite a collection. It’s easy to use, effective, worth it. Super easy to pluck recipes and sometimes even from behind paywalls. You can make this as easy or as complicated as you wish! This app gets all the stars!

If you get creative, you can use it for other things too including inventory and crafting.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I want

*2026-08-05, version 3.8.5*

We started using this app 3ish years ago, and it does everything we want without unnecessary frills or advertising. The extraction of directions and ingredients from webpages has been 100% reliable, and the abilities to use menus, build categories, edit recipes, and generate grocery lists are super handy. One of the best apps on my phone! Highly recommend paying the fee to try it, especially if you’re battling Samsung Food or similar.

### 5/5 — Where has this app been all my life???

*2026-08-01, version 3.8.5*

This app is crazy cool!! You search in the IN-APP BROWSER for your recipe. So I copy paste from my Pinterest board. Click the download button from inside the browser. Go to the recipe you just downloaded. Click a button and it adds your ingredients to your shopping list. You can choose items to leave off the list AND it groups the items your list based on where in the store you will find them AND it reminds you which recipe the item is for! HELLO!!! The developers know what's up. 100%

### 4/5 — The Best App, However…

*2026-07-30, version 3.8.5*

This app has little to improve, but with what it can be improved upon, is taking inspiration from other recipe managers. Let’s look at ReciMe for example, and notice how when you “share” a recipe to the ReciMe app, it adds anything & everything from that recipe on to the app. No copying & pasting external links to & from the websites & the app! I think that’s what this app is missing the most, which is easier accessibility to copy & paste the recipe to the app. Not only that, I do enjoy how ReciMe shows little pictures of the ingredients needed for the recipe. Besides that, this is the best app you’ll use… and the best part is, it isn’t a monthly-based subscription! Paprika, forever!

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-07-28, version 3.8.5*

The kids and I have fun looking for recipes to try… have the ingredients list… we order groceries and I get everyone’s rating to score it.

### 4/5 — Not good at scaling

*2026-07-27, version 3.8.5*

One frustration I have with this app is the scaling feature, which review general discuss favourably.

It works by scaling any numbers in the ingredients list. A good idea, but it doesn't scale the number 1. "1 large egg" scaled by 4 is still 1 large egg. Other numbers work fine, but it doesn't scale language either. A pinch scaled by 2 is still a pinch, not 2 pinches. It just needs a little attention and this feature would be very nice. It also needs to highlight scaled numbers so that you can see if it's missed one.

I expect a defensive "well it's not A.I" response, but even I can code this kind of logic.

### 5/5 — How did I ever live without it?

*2026-07-26, version 3.8.5*

I’ve been telling everyone I know to use Paprika for as long as I’ve had it, and everyone who has used it tells me it takes so much stress out of cooking. You can use it as a recipe manager only or utilize its full capabilities as a meal organizer / grocery list. Take one day a week where you plan out your recipes for each meal that week and save that as a “menu” to come back to later. It’s truly a time saver and life changer if you use all of its features to the fullest.

### 4/5 — Great app but needs improvement in search

*2026-07-26, version 3.8.5*

I’ve used this app for many years and it’s great for storing recipes and creating shopping lists that can be shared with others and between devices. My only complaint is that the search function is useless unless you know the exact name of the recipe or the ingredient you are searching for is the first word of the recipe name. The search function needs a LOT of work. You can somewhat work around this by categorizing all of your recipes.

### 5/5 — The best recipe app I’ve found!

*2026-07-24, version 3.8.5*

I love this app, I use it all the time and the ability to go to sites and pull the recipe down to store in the app is great! I’ve managed to download family favourites uploaded to multiple sites and the way it manages to separate the ingredients and instructions is soo good. And being able to use the conversion to metrics… I really love this app! ❤️

### 4/5 — Love it!

*2026-07-23, version 3.8.5*

Love this app! Makes my life so much easier. I’ve tried a few and this is my main one I use now. Would LOVE to be able to upload recipes from IG here though for those creators who don’t have downloadable recipes on a web page. If so, I’d give it 5 stars!!

### 5/5 — Maybe a Perfect App

*2026-07-19, version 3.8.5*

I paid for it once and that was it, it has worked flawlessly for years, I keep thinking I’ll try using Notion or something when I get a wild hair, but I’ll always come back because I’ve never had a complaint.

### 5/5 — The best recipe app

*2026-07-19, version 3.8.5*

I’ve used this app for years now. It’s just fantastic.

### 5/5 — Fabulous Recipe App

*2026-07-19, version 3.8.5*

I have been using this app for years. It is a great way to capture, organize and plan recipes, menus and shopping. I have used it both personally and as a professional baker to plan large catering events. The recipes can be multiplied out to 100 x’s. I am able to easily send new recipes to staff who have also downloaded this app and I do not have to worry if they have done the math correctly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Overrated

*2026-07-28, version 3.8.5*

If you get most of your recipes off YouTube, as I do, Paprika is useless. It’s basically a copy and paste tool and only works if the full recipe including the instructions are written out in full otherwise it can’t capture the recipe. It’s too expensive for what it is. You’d be better off just using Copy Me That, which is free.

### 1/5 — No IPhone Widget

*2026-07-21, version 3.8.5*

The paprika guide says this app is supposed to have a widget but I’ve spent hours trying to “fix” it but still no widget. I would have never bought if I knew there wasn’t a widget.

### 1/5 — Crashes Upon Opening

*2026-07-10, version 3.8.4*

Loved it up until now. Can’t even open it.

### 1/5 — Terrible organization

*2026-07-10, version 3.8.4*

There is no way to edit or delete categories, despite the user guide saying there is. You can only add categories.

### 1/5 — Nothing behind the scenes

*2026-06-27, version 3.8.4*

I’ve had this app for a few years, I paid for the app on a Black Friday special. I’ve reach out to change my email, and cannot get anyone to reach back out! They have all sort of rules, “won’t tolerate anyone being rude to customer service” how about customer service does their job? Highly annoyed!

### 1/5 — Browser doesn’t work anymore

*2026-06-24, version 3.8.4*

I used to like this app but now I cannot get any new recipes because it redirects to google from the browser

### 1/5 — Not downloading recipes

*2026-06-11, version 3.8.4*

No longer able to download recipes. What happened

### 1/5 — Plutôt déçu par rapport aux alternatives

*2026-06-05, version 3.8.4*

### 1/5 — Won’t download recipes

*2026-05-30, version 3.8.4*

This has worked great for years with no issues. This month has been a problem. I tried again today and it just hangs up. Please update this!!!

### 1/5 — Has the developer gone out of business?

*2026-05-30, version 3.8.4*

I have used Paprika for well over a decade. It’s an amazing recipe manager. Unfortunately it no longer works properly. It has a built-in browser for downloading recipes from the internet, but that no longer works. Thinking that there might be an issue with the app in my phone, u deleted it and then downloaded it again. I went to sign in and cannot. It’s not connecting to the paprika server. I fear that this developer is no more.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best

*2026-08-30, version 3.8.5*

I am a Retired Sous Chef with a strong computer background.

I have used a bunch of software recipe keepers, both professionally and at home. On PC’s, Mac’s, Phones, etc. I even helped one company improve their software (professional catering software).

Without question, Paprika 3 is the best recipe software I have ever used. Full stop.

First, it runs on Mac’s, iPads, iPhones, Apple Watches, PC’s, and Android phones.

Second, along with running on all these devices, it seamlessly syncs between your devices, meaning if you make a change on a recipe on your phone, it automatically updates the copy on your tablet and computer, and within seconds.

Third, it has built-in software to download recipes from hundreds of different websites, automatically placing ingredients in the correct location, directions in their section, and others things in your app. And if a recipe will not download automatically, they devised a clever system to still import the recipe section-by-section (ingredients in one section, instructions in another, notes in a third, etc.). Basically, just a copy and paste.

Fourth, it allows you to create many categories to file your recipes, like by meal (Breakfast, Dinner, Snack, etc.), course (appetizer, salad, entree, etc.), main ingredient (steak, beef, chicken, etc.), style of recipe (Cajun, Chinese, Vegetarian, etc.), cooking method (Outdoor Grill, Sous Vide, Insta Pot, Oven, etc.) and any other system (Favorite, Party Foods, Peach Season, Holiday, Quick to make, Canning, Make-Ahead, Kids, Husband’s favorites, etc., etc, etc.) making it easy for YOU to find the recipe you want. Recipes can be in multiple categories at once.

Fifth, It allows you to e-mail recipes straight to someone else (I have done it at parties, as an example), to backup your recipes, to export them individually or in bulk, etc. you can e-mail them in Paprika format to other Paprika users, or as text to anyone.

Sixth, you can create daily menu’s.

Seventh, it creates shopping lists from the recipes in the above listed men’s.

It stores pictures, you can have multiple photos of each recipe, if you wish.

It has the best scaling system I have ever seen in a recipe app.

The cooking display allows you to tap ingredients as you add them, graying them out on the screen, so you don’t add them twice.

All this, and the program is tiny, literally 1/10 the size of competitors.

As a a computer pro for over 40 years, this means it runs blistering FAST.

I could go on, but just stop reading, and download the app.

My highest recommendation.

### 5/5 — I use it all the time

*2026-08-25, version 3.8.5*

Remarkably easy to save a recipe from the internet. Use the browser function, find the recipe, hit the download button, boom. The recipe is now in paprika and ready to use.

### 5/5 — Well worth it!

*2026-08-23, version 3.8.5*

I love this app, it makes storing recipes a breeze. This way I don't have 800 tabs of unorganized recipes in my browser.

### 5/5 — The Best

*2026-08-12, version 3.8.5*

The best recipe app since The Whisk. Take the time to watch an instruction video on how to use all the features and you’ll be set. Yes, you have to pay for a license for each instance—Mac, iPad—but I’m willing to spend the $$ because of the quality of the product.

### 5/5 — Exactly what you need

*2026-08-11, version 3.8.5*

This is precisely what I bought the app for. Consolidate all recipes and easy to access, navigate, plan and prepare. Already levelled up my cooking. One of the best best features is being able to download recipes right onto the app and it includes images, servings, nutritional info and more. Absolutely fantastic.

### 5/5 — Buy once, have forever

*2026-08-11, version 3.8.5*

5 stars purely for no subscriptions. But app also works great, I’m glad to have all my recipes in one place.

### 5/5 — Love, love, love this app!

*2026-08-10, version 3.8.5*

This app is amazing. Many options. I really like the fact that I can easily upload a web recipe to the app.

### 5/5 — Great Recipe App

*2026-08-09, version 3.8.5*

Easy to use and extremely useful app for anyone who loves to cook. It’s a snap to find a recipe online and import it quickly into the app. Only extra feature I wish for is an OCR so I can import recipes from cookbooks.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-08-08, version 3.8.5*

I give very few 5 star reviews. I love this app the only thing that would make it better would be the addition of Nutrition information.
