Basically Find My Friends on encrypted steroids! I am on the paid max plan, got my whole family and some friends on it. Mostly accurate most of the time. Granted trees and buildings can interfere with GPS so not a huge deal. It provides good privacy and security wrapped in pretty UI/UX, which is hard to do. I am just happy to see some kind of competition in the space, and you should be too! This app is great! I’m shocked that the UI/UX is as good as it is, as most privacy focused services tend to sacrifice usability for security. Judging by the (at the time of writing, will WIP) architecture docs, this dev has managed to strike a balance without sacrificing anything (except probably their own time and mental health lol). While it is not yet open source (again, at the time of writing), that is on the roadmap which is lovely to see. Even if this one day becomes self-hostable (please!), I would still happily pay to support development of a sustainable competitor to the other big players in this space. The pricing scheme is also really smart and very reasonably priced. You can easily split the cost with a partner, or get even more value out of it by sharing with your family.
