I've used and have pocket cloud and log me ignition.. I still like 2x better than all of the above. The only thing I wish it would do is allow for a one time setup. I am constantly logging into multiple different servers on separate devices .. Ipad, Iphone, droid tablet, Samsung device, etc... I have to set it up on each device separately with all the ip's.. logins.. passwords... add to that the purchase of new devices and it gets cumbersome.. Developers please make a sign in screen option to carry all settings and setup across with the login.. That would make this app absolutely the best app ever!! At least for me :) pretty please.. (And that's coming from an app developer..!!). THANKS IN ADVANCE :D ### 4/5 — The best RDP client for sure BUT *2013-03-25, version 10.5.1396* The scroll wheel gesture using 2-finger swipes also triggers moving the viewing area around (the normal behavior of a 1-finger swipe), which is really a pain because scrolling down actually results in moving up at the same time! Please improve this thanks! ### 4/5 — Best RDP so far *2012-11-25, version 10.1.1256* Tried several RDPs, and found 2x to be the best. Only shortfall I've come across is that the 'send page up' gesture does to appear to be functioning. Update: Still really like the app, but as an improvement, consider changing the mouse function. When you move the mouse thing to the far right of the page, the page shifts to the left. Similarly, moving the mouse thing to the bottom of the screen shifts the page up. This is annoying. The only problem was that the controls are a bit tricky but well fleshed out. But after a little bit of working with it you get used to the controls. If you know what your doing this app is great for you! THANK YOU 2X. ### 5/5 — Great RDP *2012-05-04, version 10.1.1256* I tried a couple of the other "free" versions to try out, where you could then get their "pro" version if you like it. I could get none of them to work on my network. This was the first RDP client that I got to work and in less than 2 minutes! I also use CITRIX. I like that client because it seems to use the New iPad's screen resolution. That would be the only criticism I would have for 2X. Otherwise, even if you had to pay for it, I am not quite sure what more you would need. ### 4/5 — The Best *2012-03-19, version 10.1.1204* This is easily the best RDP client out there, and free to boot! The mouse/pointer function is sensational for my mobile end-users. The only thing that could make this better, from an IT perspective, would be the ability to open multiple connections. It used to be that the auto-show of the keyboard worked great. Now it just pops up when I click on anything like links and no longer just in text boxes. When I push the screen up (panning), it automatically goes wwwaaayy up...every time. Emailed 2X for help but what they sent only told me what to do if the installation worked, nary a peep about what to try if it didn't. They also assume that you know what all the acronyms mean. Frankly, they assume you know enough about this product to get by without any help or instruction. I can install operating systems and build rudimentary networks but I can't get 2X to run. Presumably a more sophisticated user can make this work but 2X is probably not for most of us. ### 1/5 — Update Breaks Connectivity to Older 2X Gateway Servers *2011-12-13, version 10.1.1204* This current version does not allow connections to older (Version 8) 2X Gateway Servers. If you update you may lose ALL functionaltiy. I contacted support and their solution was to upgrade the 2X server. I manage the servers, and this is a VERY LARGE undertaking and must be tested extensively before it can be implemented in production. I work for a hospital and our systems need to be up 24\7, so a major upgrade like this takes a lot of planning and time, there is no "Quick Fix!" It is a shame that many of our users have updated this app and now cannot use it at all! DO NOT UPDATE!! ### 1/5 — Updated App Crash *2011-12-11, version 10.1.1204* The old app is a great app. I downloaded the upgrade and it crashes when trying to connect to the server. Apparently, the SERVER software version needs to be updated too for this upgrade to work. No where in the update information is this mentioned! Fortunately, I was able to find the old app still in iTunes and downgrade back to the working version. It would have been nice to have known this would crash beforehand!! ### 2/5 — Bad keyboard *2014-07-14, version 11.1.2064* New version fixed windows 2012 issues but major turn for the negative. The keyboard is like oh my god!!!! Where did you find that keyboard layout. I won't even start on where the heck is the colon?!?!?!?!! Plus the screen sensitivity is off some things you can finger select others like closing out of screens with the X in the corner don't respond and you have to use the virtual mouse Down to 2 stars and probably switching to the Microsoft client. ### 2/5 — The last update just made it worse *2014-06-18, version 11.1.2035* The last update took away voice to text and made it harder to scroll around on the screen. I document my medical notes on the server so it just significantly made my job harder. You shouldn't put in a keyboard that's different from other apps, it just makes typing slower because you can't trust natural reactions for where buttons are. You have to think about every move. ### 2/5 — Keybrd problems *2013-12-23, version 11.0.1845* This latest keybrd upd prevents me from using it when I Remote Desktop into my IBM 5250 emulation screen. When I tap the keys on the key board, nothing appears. No characters or numbers. The cursor doesn't even move. This all occurred on or after the update. Other than that, it's fine. Could use another update to correct this please. ### 3/5 — Nice App. ctrl key is broken *2014-01-24, version 11.0.1845* Very nice app but the ctrl key doesn't work right. If I try to ctrl-c, ctrl-v, ctrl-z, etc from within any application it just prints "c," "v" or "z" respectively. I would have emailed the dev but the only option to communicate is via forums and I'm not motivated enough to sign up. Works much better than their newer client apps. ### 5/5 — Update not a problem. *2015-12-12, version 14.1.3484* To those having the grey bar issue, go to Settings>General>Keyboard and make sure 'Shortcuts' is turned off. Had this problem in another app and it fixed it for me. Other than that, haven't used it yet, will update when I do. ### 5/5 — update NOT broken, just select "settings > keyboard > use IOS native keyboard" and it works *2015-12-07, version 14.1.3484* Update: the update is not broken, just select "use IOS native Keyboard" in settings and poof the controls come back. Major goof for this not to be default. This app is the fastest-to-connect of any I have tried AND the mouse emulation is the most usable interface I've seen. Many RDP clients seem to work the same, but right-click seems like some sort of insurmountable programming challenge. This apps touch-mouse implementation is highly responsive, deadly accurate, and best of all it's plainly visible--for several remote clients it's easy to lose the cursor, but not this one. Are there any faults? I have been using iphone since it was first marketed, and since then i need such apps to control my remote desktop. I have tried every lite version and this is the best! Even when iOS 8x caused radical malfunctions with most of my tablet's apps, this one came back fast and thus far with no apparent need for fixes. My needs are few. One of my tasks is to remotely monitor our network while in the field. This app allows me to do that quite efficiently. Five stars again for iPhone 5 optimization (it took long enough). Pros: Easy to connect to and work within my company's servers. Can add multiple connections (unlike the free version of PocketCloud). Full screen mode a blessing for older eyes. Free.
