## What is Parashah Pal?

Parasha Pal keeps the week's Torah portion, the Shabbat siddur and the Hebrew calendar in one place, with prayer and candle-lighting times calculated for wherever you happen to be.

THE WEEKLY PORTION
All 54 parashot of the annual cycle, each with its Torah, Haftarah and Brit Chadashah readings, a full summary, and study material written for actually sitting down with: the themes the portion turns on, passages worth a second look with a note on why, and questions to take to a table or a chevrusa.

THE SIDDUR
The Shabbat service and the daily blessings, laid out for reading rather than scrolling. Adjustable text size, a dark mode that is easy on the eyes at Erev Shabbat, and a search that finds a line you half-remember rather than only a title you know.

THE HEBREW CALENDAR
A month view where every day that carries something is marked — festivals and their eves, Rosh Chodesh, fasts, Shabbat, the named Shabbatot, and the counting of the Omer. Tap any day to see what it holds. No more wondering whether this week is the one.

TIMES FOR WHERE YOU ARE
Shacharit, Mincha and Maariv, plus candle lighting and the close of Shabbat, all calculated from your own location rather than a city you do not live in.

REMINDERS THAT WORK OFFLINE
Choose what you want to be told about — candle lighting each week, festivals, the new moon, fast days — and the app schedules it on your device. No account needed, and it keeps working with no signal.

YOUR TRADITION, YOUR WORDING
Choose between Messianic wording, with Yahweh, Yahshua and the Brit Chadashah readings, and Traditional wording, with Adonai, G-d and Jesus and no Brit Chadashah. You are asked once when you first open the app, and can change it whenever you like. Every prayer, blessing and summary follows your choice.

DISCUSS THE PORTION
A room for each week's parasha, where you can talk about what you have read. Past weeks stay readable, so when a portion comes round again the previous year's conversation is still there above the new one. Reporting, blocking and message deletion are built in, and every room is moderated.

WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL
The portions, prayers, blessings, calendar and all times are computed on your phone. An account is only needed to join the discussion.
