## What is Parchisi Stars?

Parchisi Stars a traditional Indian dice game that dates back from the pages of mythology. There is also a belief that this game may have been a precursor to the modern day board game- Ludo.

Its beauty lies in its variations. Different regions have given it different names which include Chaupar & Parchisi.
Be first to move all four of your pawns from your nest to your home. Ludo is a children's game based upon the ancient Indian game of Parchisi Stars.

The objective of this classic board game is to move all four of their pieces completely around the board, counter-clockwise, before their opponents reach home in Parchisi Stars . The pieces start and finish on the Charkoni.

The playing order in Parchisi Stars is decided by each player throwing the dice. The player starts the game first by entering into the track by throwing a ‘5’. This can be singular dice or as a combination of the numbers thrown on both dice, and turns continue counter-clockwise around the board. If a 6, 10, or 25 is thrown, the player gets a grace, which enables the player to introduce one of their pieces from the Charkoni onto the board.

All players in Parchisi Stars game move around the same board, so they may capture each other’s pawns. Captured pawns are returned to their player's corner and must start their journey over.

The winner is the first player to move all pawns "home".
On a superficial level, Parchisi Stars seems simple to play and challenging at same time, but skilled players use complex tactics and strategy, such as using pawns to erect barriers for opponents to give tough battle by capturing an opponent's pawn and forcing them to start over.

The next time you decide you want to indulge in exercising your mind in a board game, then Parchisi Stars is the game for you.

Play like a king & defeat all your opponents.

A great fun game that encourages the skill of logical thinking.

### 1/5 — Too many glitches

*2024-01-04*

Every corner has different rules. 1. Top right corner can advance a blockade every time, but the rest cannot. 2. If you get to a point where the only thing the human can do is advance a blockade, the program thinks you can, but it won't let you, so it freezes up. 3. It NEVER rolls a double 5. That's statistically impossible. 4. Worst problem: there is an ad that comes up at the om of the page and it has a flashing conversation bubble that never stops flashing, even if you click on the ad, then go back to the game. Soooo annoying and the only way to get rid of it is to reset the game.

### 2/5 — Double trouble

*2023-02-26*

Apart from the bugs other describe (needing to restart when no move is possible, and some weirdness on blocking), there are two things that stand out. First when playing online opponents I’ve never encountered anyone over level 3. I’m over level 70; am I the only one who stuck with the game despite the flaws. The other is a much bigger issue. After thousand of games, and many tens of thousands of rolls by me and opponents, I can say, anecdotally, that doubles occur far more often than a natural distribution would provide and, despite the high frequency of doubles, I have never rolled, or seen an opponent roll, a 5-5. This is so certain, that I will not hesitate to leave a man open 5 spaces ahead of an opponents home base, knowing they cannot both get a man out and hit me on one roll.

### 2/5 — Still glitchy

*2023-02-17, version 1.0*

I wish I could add a screen shot. It still freezes up alot of the time. The programming lets the bot players skip a turn when there are no legal moves for them to make, but frequently doesn't recognize the same situation for the human (sometimes it does). It also frequently allows the bots to advance a blockade when doubles are rolled, but not for the human. So it has wishy washy rules that favor the bots.

### 2/5 — Bugs

*2022-03-31*

At some points, when there are no moves to make, the game says to make a move. So you need to restart the game.

### 4/5 — True Bug when you can’t move a man auto moved

*2021-09-28*

There is a definite bug.
If you have a spot blocked and throw doubles and it automatically moves one of your men and the only other move you have is the to move the other man the same number, it tells you to move that number of spaces instead of no moves and you are stuck there and have to reset the game.

For instance, the guy 2 spaces ahead of me had a block. I only had 2 guys left and they were blocked 2 spaces behind his block. I threw double 1’s so it automatically moves one of my men 1space directly behind his block. Then it came up with the message to move one space. The man it moved was now blocked behind the blocked men and it wouldn’t let me move the other man 1 space because that would block again. There was no move I could make and the message wouldn’t go away so I had to reset.

### 2/5 — Not quite there

*2021-08-08*

This game has potential but it misses the mark especially where it forces blockades to be broken. That’s one of the primary strategies of the game! Some other details are off from the original board game, but that’s the one that makes it not worth playing.

### 4/5 — Is blocking flawed?

*2021-07-03*

I love this game. It it a joy to play. However when I play vs the computer, it lets the computer keep its block(2 men on the same space, especially coming out of the nest) as long as it wants. Where as when I have the same block it forces me to move the block. It’s very frustrating. I think it might be a bug.

Many of your reviewers tell you the same problem about blocking while playing with the computer yet you do nothing to fix it and don’t even acknowledge that it’s a problem. Besides the fact that the computer cheats, it is also dumb. It doesn’t take logical move available to it and I win almost every time. This would be a really good app if you would fix these things.

### 4/5 — Distance Gaming

*2020-04-30*

Love this game for playing at a distance with friends and family. Even the odd rules are fun! However, I’ve noticed that the vs. computer has a lot of “doubles” rolls but frustratingly that never happens when playing friends!! A little thing that needs to be fixed :( Also, when playing with friends, it often disconnects before the end of the game and there’s no way to rejoin.

### 4/5 — No Doubles

*2020-03-08*

Very nice but there’s a bug that prevents you from rolling doubles. Still very playable and well done. 5 on 5 if it wasn’t for that.

### 3/5 — Some strange rules

*2019-08-31*

It’s an ok Parchisi game, but there are a couple of odd rules I’ve never heard of before. They aren’t huge deals but they change up the strategy.

First, if you have a blockade and roll a doublet this game makes you break it up, which is a shame as blockades are an excellent tactic to hinder your opponents.

Usually in Parchisi if you have all four of your pieces out in play and roll a doublet you get to move a total of 14 spaces. In this version you just move whatever you rolled and then roll again.
