### 3/5 — Good free app, but AI takes over

*2026-08-17*

It has a built in messenger and always tries to rewrite my messages to prevent escalation, but I don’t really like it’s version as it sometimes makes it confusing and inaccurate… but sometimes I will type out a long message and hit send and it will disappear, like AI didn’t know what to with it and just deleted it. Then I have to retype it and copy to my clipboard just in case before sending. I don’t like the AI message summaries, either, and wish I could turn them off.

I wish it had a separate place to legally document things, like a thing he said or did, with date and time.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.19 — 2026-08-14

Getting set up with your co-parent is easier.

- Invite by email, right away — when you save a co-parent's contact, ParentLink now offers to send their invitation on the spot, prefilled with the email you just typed.

- Clearer waiting states — your People list now shows "Invite sent · waiting for them to join," so you always know where things stand. Every screen now distinguishes an invited co-parent from a linked one.

- Guidance where you need it — empty screens now explain the first steps, and when a feature needs your co-parent connected, they say so plainly with a shortcut to the fix.

- New in-app help — a "How ParentLink works" guide (what's shared, what's saved, who gets notified) plus quick "How do I…" answers, all in the Support section and available offline.

### 1.0.18 — 2026-08-13

Expenses is easier to read at a glance.

- A new balance card shows whether you're owed money or you owe it, and to whom.
- Filtering is now one Filter button, with a preview of how many expenses match.
- Clearer status: waiting on approval is now separate from paid.
- Fixed: costs shared with someone not on ParentLink can be marked paid, and their name shows.
- Fixed: hiding calendars no longer affects the who-has-the-kids card on Home.

### 1.0.17 — 2026-08-12

Invite your co-parent by email — even if they're not on ParentLink yet. Open a contact and tap "Invite by Email"; they'll get an invitation from invites@parent.link and connect with you automatically when they join. Plus small polish across the People tab.

### 1.0.16 — 2026-08-12

Video calling fixes:
• Fixed an issue that prevented video calls from starting
• The app now correctly asks for camera and microphone permission on your first call
• You can now join a call with audio only if camera access is unavailable

### 1.0.15 — 2026-08-11

Fixes an issue where profile photos sometimes wouldn't save.
