It should only need permission to add events, not to view or modify everything in my private schedule. The app support link leads to a 404 page error. My child has a google meet session and I am unable to login to access the login info. If this is necessary, at least provide a means to automatically forward existing messages to email so that users can use their email app to file important messages or flag messages for follow-up. Would be great if that ability could be retained/restored in the next update as soon as possible. Not user friendly at all. ### 1/5 — Usability improvements are overdue *2024-05-16, version 10.3.0* The Parents Gateway app by Singapore's Ministry of Education is a commendable initiative that streamlines communication between schools and parents. However, there are notable usability issues that could be addressed: Firstly, the app is exclusively accessible through mobile devices with no web access available. This limitation can be quite restrictive for parents who prefer or need to manage their communications via a desktop or laptop. Secondly, the email notifications are insufficient. They only notify parents of a new message without providing any details, necessitating that parents open the app to view the content. This extra step is cumbersome and could be easily avoided by including the message content in the email notifications. Moreover, the app could benefit from incorporating AI to summarize the lengthy and numerous messages that parents receive. This would save time and make it easier to digest important information quickly. These issues significantly detract from the app's usability. Expanding access to include a web platform, enhancing email notifications to display message content, and incorporating AI for message summarization would greatly improve the user experience and accessibility of the Parents Gateway app. ### 1/5 — Desperately needs development *2024-04-08, version 10.2.2* This app is a 99% endless stream of worthless content about grants and bursaries which buries important updates such as exam dates. 1) Allow parents to unsubscribe from pointless information and subscribe to what is relevant to them. 2) PLEASE GIVE US A SEARCH FUNCTION so we can wade through all the nonsense. 3) Ability to save documents to personal profile for ease of finding important things. FOR SOME REASON, my kids’ school tells my children that they’re not going to give them information in the classroom and instead to go home and ask their parents to find it on parents gateway, so we need a better way to find information. Apparently in this day and age a teacher cannot simply tell a student when their exam date is. They tell the kids to go ask their parents!!!!!!!!! ### 1/5 — Where is the search function?!! *2024-03-18, version 10.2.2* I wish there was a zero star or negative star rating. Having been forced to use this platform / app for however many years now, there is still no search function. I don’t know how many hours worn out parents have wasted scrolling through endless lists of messages opening each one in the hope that the hidden piece of information is inside. So, so tired of this nonsense - it’s been years now. The gateway cannot even load the screens at all, how do i even see it he progress of my kid? Its just primary 1 only in 2024 and i am using iphone 15. Loading over 15mins n still seeing nothing!!!! ### 1/5 — Terrible to require singpass *2023-07-13* Terrible idea because it leaves out parents without a singpass. **Developer response:** Singpass is the only authentication gateway for the PG app due to security reasons. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please let the school know and they will use alternative means to ensure you are duly updated. ### 1/5 — Edit after submission *2023-05-13, version 9.5.1* Whoever created this app shld upgrade the software so that parents are able to edit the reply so long it’s within the deadline As working parents, we tends to overlook on the message and by the time we have the time to read the message, there might already be few messages to reply Thus we tend to reply to wrong messages therefore by having edit option would allow us to make changes if required so long it’s before the deadline This is not a user friendly app, extremely disappointed ### 1/5 — Completed items still has a red dot *2023-05-04, version 9.5.1* Already provided feedback that completed items still show as incomplete (red dot next to child name) months ago but no improvement to date. Defeat the purpose of having a incomplete indicator when there is always a red dot next to name indicating outstanding issue. Have tried the usual solutions (login and out, reinstall app etc.) but problem persists. ### 1/5 — Not user friendly. *2023-04-18, version 9.5.1* Besides the ability to see each child tabs, the app is quite troublesome as schools send notices for something months ahead or teachers giving assesments for following week and once you’ve have read the notices/messages it went into the ‘Completed’ tab automatically. Should have separate tabs that actually make sense such as… • ‘New’ for new notices yet to be read. Separate notices by colour tabs (for example) that are from MOE, General School HOD Notices and Notices from Class Teachers. • ‘To-do’ for notices that parents FLAG to be attended to later such as important notices of assessment/exams topics from class teachers or CCA. • ‘Complete’ for notices that has been read or acknowledge. Every notices/message should have the option for parents to choose OURSELVES, ‘To-do’ or ‘Complete’. Not automatic. Doesnt make sense for us to keep scrolling to find the important notices flooded by other generic notices. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great Support *2024-01-05, version 10.2.1* Had some issue with app but the support team was very helpful and the response was prompt as well. I get instant notification whenever a message comes in. ### 4/5 — Where is the submit absence option? *2025-10-28, version 12.0.3* Can’t find the submit absence option ### 4/5 — Misleading error info *2023-01-19, version 9.3.0* The IP students’ parents won’t be able to login after Y4 until schools update MOE with child’s JC registration… the error message can be more specific rather than saying “you child needs to be studying in a MOE school” ### 4/5 — Room for Improvement *2022-12-04, version 9.1.0* This is a necessary app for all parents, I felt that more can be done - Adding Delete button or allow parents to hide some posts. - Search field - Posts that are read should not automatically goes to the Complete section, it will be nice to have an Unread button as some people like us we read it during work and go home and complete the task. - Add a reminder on posts that has a deadline. Parents should be able to receive notification when teachers edit response or comment so that teachers can reply enquiry via comment. ### 3/5 — No notification *2025-08-05, version 11.7.0* No matter how the app has been updated, even my IOS has been updated to the latest. Even after trying reinstalling it; making sure my setting for notification is right; i still have issues receiving pushed notification from my phone when the school has new post. And even if i have missed notifications, the app does not have badge notifcation when i have unread post to remind user.
