### 2/5 — Locked out of my account / Login issue

*2026-08-26, version 2.132.1*

I’ve been using this app regularly, but it suddenly logged me out. Now when I try to log back in, it says "incorrect password or email." Clicking "Forgot Password" doesn't work either—I get no reset code via email or phone text. Reinstalling the app and restarting my phone didn't help, and contacting the school didn't resolve it since it seems to be a technical app issue. Please fix this bug so parents can access their accounts!

### 2/5 — Needs some fixing!

*2026-08-26, version 2.132.1*

I’m at the parent end. Kids attend two different schools, I show so many notifications and yet nothing is truly highlighted as “new” or “unread” super annoying! And the attendance submitting sucks. I w at to submit a sick note and it won’t let me submit the correct time when i picked up the child. I had time at 4pm at the day to submit the sick note and the app wouldn’t allow me to set the time to 10am when I picked him up, earliest was 4pm.

### 2/5 — Not a fan of the app

*2026-08-24, version 2.132*

It’s very barebones.

### 3/5 — Not happy and love it

*2026-08-24, version 2.132*

The only thing I hate is when it logs me out and we have to program again and some of us don’t remember our password. It helps in some ways that I hate to fart that we have to be logging in with our password. It’s frustrating some of us don’t remember her password or they make us one and they don’t explain it to us. They just write it down the paper and when I try to login with that, they put on the paper it’s not valid.

### 3/5 — Makes me change my password multiple times

*2026-08-22, version 2.131*

Literally in the same day, I opened the app and then the next time I open the app it makes me change my password. I’ve had to change my password in the last month 4x it’s ridiculous. If it wasn’t used by my child’s school I would not download this. It’s really annoying, especially when you receive messages and have to make a new password that also has specific rules for your new password and then I can’t remember the new password because I recently changed it. I’m really frustrated.

### 2/5 — Notification Pain

*2026-08-15, version 2.131*

My kids’ school district implements ParentSquare. For the most part, it works. You can receive messages and send messages. If you are a member of a single school or multiple schools, you have segmented views and messages. What prevents this app from being actually enjoyable by parents is that it handles notifications extremely poorly. Ultimately I want to get important notifications for the school and related to my children’s classes. What I don’t want to get are the district level marketing notifications. The way the notifications settings are segmented and controlled in the app are a confusing and clunky mess that makes it so that parents are inundated with notifications with little control except to explicitly turn on or off with no properly tested middle ground (digest is not a working solution). You end up with constant red dot notifications. Also, even if you read a notification or press the “Mark All Read” action, the red dot notification is not properly reset, leaving you with having to reopen the app and refresh the notifications until it registers as read. This makes me want to simply disable the app’s notifications from my iOS notifications settings, meaning I could miss critical messages. But the fatigue is real.

### 1/5 — Always shows notifications

*2026-08-14, version 2.131*

Unclear how to get it to stop saying I have notifications. I read them all and it still says I have them

### 1/5 — Cheap Experience

*2026-08-14, version 2.131*

The calendar isn’t populated (what?). The directory lists everyone instead of our relevant contacts first (really?). The posters (school announcements) are in the photo library instead of announcements (huh?. The links section have no photos or descriptions for what they are or what they do (okay?). The main navigation colors completely change depending on the menu, making it seem like the entire site has changed (I’ve left). The avatar plus icon opens a general upload anything dialogue box as if I can upload a PPT for my kid’s avatar photo (weird?). The setting button on the search bar has a hover over message that cuts off above the top of the page and can’t be read (accessibility issue?). Clicking on the heart icon for feedback loads a 429 rate limited page (not listening?). Great to see my tax dollars hard at work sucking per usual.

### 1/5 — This app is terrible

*2026-08-14, version 2.131*

App is glitchy and certain post are visible at random times.

### 1/5 — This App Sucks

*2026-08-13, version 2.131*

Wrong password? No it isn’t. Do you know how I know? I use a password manager and have to reset it back to the same password every month. Just logs you out and makes you change your password over and over.

### 2/5 — Duplicate notice flags

*2026-08-12, version 2.131*

The app overall is nice. Thanks for the calendars and updates. However, the feed notifications and the alert notifications are duplicative and it’s annoying that I have the notification in the feed but then have to go into the alerts to mark the same notifications as read.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cannot scroll the message on iOS

*2026-08-24, version 2.132*

From last two updates, cannot scroll or read messages on iOS device. The user experience is bad.

### 1/5 — App barely functions

*2026-08-24, version 2.132*

The chart function doesn’t allow you to add groups or multiple people. Both parents can’t be in a group conversation together. Half of the features redirect you to the browser. They didn’t do any quality control or they hired cheap engineers.

### 1/5 — ts buns on my ma

*2026-08-23, version 2.132*

yo man, why the hell can’t i even make an account, like are we deaduzz rn, and when i have a qr code to log in, i cant even join gango

### 1/5 — You broke login

*2026-08-22, version 2.131*

Recent update with a weird “gonna be logged out” warning and asking me if I want to login now or later. I don’t want to do either. Please allow me to add biometric auth so I never have to think about it again.

Also it broke actual login. So stuck in a weird “trying to switch account” state. I’m not trying to switch accounts. I don’t have multiple accounts. I should never see that screen.

To the product and UX leadership, I believe in you! Make our parent square great (or really just mediocre) again. Please and thank you.

Sincerely, tired parents everywhere.

### 1/5 — Worked for a little while

*2026-08-21, version 2.131*

It worked for a few weeks. Then IMPOSSIBLE to sign in. Email to reset password never arrives. I tried so many times during several days until I gave up. Using the school’s email communications instead.

### 1/5 — Scroll is messed up

*2026-08-21, version 2.131*

When reading a long message the scroll gets “stuck” and I have to resize it to be able to scroll down again. Very annoying!

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-08-21, version 2.131*

I got the app since my district changed apps for parent communication and as soon as I got it I deleted it since I couldn’t get in and I wouldn’t let me log in

### 1/5 — Just awful UI

*2026-08-20, version 2.131*

This app has one of the worst user interfaces I have ever seen on a mobile app. Unfortunately my school had to switch from remind to this. On remind you can simply see messages from the Lock Screen. You can see them in separate conversations. On this app, everything is just one continuous feed, where you can’t see what the message is about if you don’t go click on it. There is no way to distinguish if it is just a regular update or an important message. You also have to clear the notifications if you want to get the true number of messages you missed on the app icon. This is a terrible alternative to remind. This app should not exist.

### 1/5 — Hate

*2026-08-19, version 2.131*

I hate this app there is a verification step for everything. That is hella annoying when I already have to use this stupid app that I do not like. It is not convenient I want to be able to click on a post and read it. Instead I have to click 5 times just to see the image the school put up which was stupid. This app is terrible everything is just cramped in one spot there is definition and there nothing that tells me who and what I’m looking at.

### 1/5 — Unexpected Error

*2026-08-16, version 2.131*

An unexpected error occurred when attempting to show your post. I consistently receive this message when attempting to read posts. I have about a 50% success rate at being able to read any communication from my school without some sort of complication. I’d rather just receive an email at this point.
