I went to downtown Columbus on a Sunday. Not realizing it was free, I attempted to pay through the app. I went ahead and did the whole process. It was free. But it also created a session on my phone for 12 hours. It would be excellent if I could remove when not needed or wanted. ### 1/5 — Payment not being accepted *2024-08-30, version 24.14.0* It's bad enough that parking in Columbus is a nightmare, but now your payment system is just as dysfunctional. Despite having money in my account, I have to try multiple times just to pay for parking. And it's not just me—several of my friends and coworkers are dealing with the same issue. In a city where parking is scarce and walking isn’t an option, the least you could do is make sure your app actually works. ### 1/5 — Doesnt work. What was wrong with parking meters? It took me 5 minutes to download this app, sign up, add the zone, add my license plate and pay. I tried to explain the situation and see if they might offer a refund. The customer service was unhelpful, unfriendly, and couldn’t work with me at all. Most companies or services have some refund policy or customer service where they will hear you out. They did not remotely try to work with me and I’m very disappointed with the whole thing. ### 1/5 — “cbus” is a slur *2022-11-07, version 9.19.1* It is insulting to residents of Columbus that this app uses the “cbus” slur in its icon. Every time you say “cbus” you say Columbus is not good enough. Stop insulting our city to make money. ### 1/5 — Why does ParkColumbus ask me to pick location outside of Ohio *2022-10-12, version 9.17.3* Why does ParkColumbus ask me to pick location outside of Ohio, PIA to use. Please bring back meter. ### 1/5 — The app is a scam *2022-08-27, version 9.17.3* While I suspect the city of columbus sets the stupid high prices, the app doesn’t make or any easier. You can’t switch out vehicle plates if you mistakenly let the default be entered. Additionally you cannot delete old plates or switch the primary vehicle if it has a currently active session. Not to mention that there is asynchronous processing between you paying and it showing up in their servers, as evidenced by a ticket I received despite paying (successfully fought at a later date). ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2022-06-21, version 9.17.3* This whole situation is a joke. No meters so zoning is a mess. Good luck getting out if your crammed between two other cars. No meters means no cash. The app loves to sit and spin and crash like a cheap date. But it’s not cheap, well not anymore at least. It’s three and a quarter now. You’d think with no meters the costs would be lower. But like everything else, you can bank on that going up too one day without warning. My personal saving grace, I don’t live in Columbus so I only have to deal with this garbage a few times a month. So good Job Columbus! If you keep this up, you’ll look and smell like LA in no time🤢 ### 3/5 — Allow for extension please *2022-06-05, version 9.17.3* Please allow the ability to extend parking when expired. Should not have to re-enter parking over again when expired. Hard to look up zone. Otherwise whats the point? Many other cities’ apps have this feature. Please fix it ### 1/5 — Does not work *2022-04-17, version 9.17.3* I used the app for the first time when I parked in downtown Columbus. I received a bill in the mail saying I owe $50 for parking but the app says I already paid for the spot. Do not recommend ### 1/5 — Poor application requirements or error in the app *2022-01-04, version 9.17.3* I recently parked using the park Columbus app. I entered the time for 1 hour, then went to select the correct vehicle as I have more than one vehicle. The default was not correct, so I selected the appropriate car/license number. It took me back and made me enter the amount/time again and I submitted it assuming it was the correct vehicle as I had just entered it. When I came back out to my car I had a ticket. I tried to fight the ticket because I paid and entered the correct vehicle so I had no way of knowing I needed to enter the vehicle again that it defaulted back to the original. You should be able to see the screens I accessed to see that I did change to the correct vehicle. I contested this with the city of Columbus and they said I had the wrong license number that I paid for. If you are not going to update to the number corrected once it is entered and before the transaction is completed you should definitely let people know. This is ridiculous that I have to pay the $30 ticket. When I contested the ticket I asked them to go to the app and confirm I made the change and that is how the app worked and they denied because it was the wrong vehicle. Did the city follow up with you to confirm if I elected the correct vehicle? If you don’t update the vehicle you need to let your consumer know as I think this is a defect or a poor application requirement! I think you should be responsible for my ticket. I am emailing the screen shots to you. Instead of displaying a clear message stating “Parking on Sundays is free” or charging $0 like they used to do, they apparently now just charge you for the next business day. So I was charged for Monday 8-10 AM even though my parking session actually took place on Sunday. And then they claim they cannot refund me. Absolutely ludicrous and infuriating. Never using again. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t warn of zone requirements *2026-05-28, version 26.20.0* Me and multiple people got tickets on goodale because I guess they require reverse parking in this tiny sliver of road. The app didn’t give any kind of heads up about the need to reverse. This only makes sense if you actively hate your customers and want their experience to be worse and less consistent. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. ### 1/5 — After paying I got a Violation *2024-10-06, version 24.14.0* Signed in after not using the mobile app for a while, paid via Apple Pay, went on my way, no notifications that anything didn’t go thru, till 4 hours later there was a parking violation and no history of transaction in the app. $4.21 became $30. Calling support gets you a AI assistant that doesn’t understand anything and send you in a loop. California has crazy gas prices, crazy housing prices, and so many tourists that nails are expensive as well. People are so busy making a living there they don’t have a lot of time to be friendly. Ohio is completely different.
