As a wheelchair user I could not get behind the truck to take the picture of the plates. It didn’t have a rear view mirror HC sign nor did the plate in the front have a Handicapped sign. Taking so many pictures can also make it not safe for me because it can cause someone to get confrontational for reporting. I am in a wheelchair, front picture of the plates and missing placard should be enough. Reporting the location is also complicated. I’m not a police officer to sit there and take detailed information like one. I didn’t feel safe to report and it didn’t make it handicap friendly to report. **Developer response:** As an organization developed and run by people with disabilities we do not suggest reporting if you do not feel safe doing so. But we must collect the elements necessary to demonstrate an infraction as our law enforcement and judicial partners require. Please email support@parkingmobility.com for tips and tutorials on how to report safely and effectively. ### 2/5 — It’s Okay *2026-04-12* If your local police department doesn’t work with the app it just feels like a waste of time. Also, I was able to successfully report a couple violations, but now every time I submit a report it immediately goes into an incomplete status even though I completed everything. And there isn’t a way to edit an incomplete report. I like the concept, but it feels like using this app is a waste of time. You’re better off calling your local police department directly using the non-emergency number. **Developer response:** If you’re experiencing an issue with incomplete reports, please reach out to support@parkingmobility.com. We’ll happily assign a tech to get things right. Reporting in nonpartner communities is critical to getting your community on board. Calling local nonemergency number rarely results in any action and there’s no data collected to address the issue. ### 2/5 — Great in concept. *2024-11-22* Terrible in practice.. the department doesn’t actually use the data to issue any citations. The user interface is awful. You have to stand around and take photos in the app in a specific order, raising the likelihood of confrontation from the offenders. It would be better if users could upload their own photos. ### 2/5 — Every report denied. *2024-10-15, version 4.8.8* Why even bother. It’s like they find a reason to deny every report you make. Not worth the trouble or almost getting into a quarrel with the person who you are trying to take a photo of. I’m not even sure if they even do anything. With your report. ### 3/5 — Not accessible *2023-10-16, version 4.8.8* As a person with a disability who uses a chair full-time, I have attempted several times to use this app. This app asks that you take not just a photo from the back of the vehicle to show the plate but also the front of the vehicle. Has a wheelchair user the majority of time it is impossible to get to the front of a vehicle in order to take a photo of the plate, and sometimes a photo of the windshield to show the disability parking placard. If you cannot obtain a photo of the front of the vehicle, this app will not except your “complaint“. So somewhat it is at times in accessible to use an app to report violations of accessibility! ### 2/5 — Decent But *2023-03-24, version 4.8.8* Great idea but the app crashes all the time and the fact that you can't take a picture and then upload it is criminal, i can quickly snap 3 pictures faster than taking the pictures in the app- not tryna get caught ### 2/5 — Rewards *2023-01-11, version 4.8.8* This app or system would be great if every time someone is reported and get fined, that the person reporting this should get a reward like how New Yorkers get paid by reporting people parking illegally on the streets. Other than that I’m not gonna waste my time reporting anyone. It doesn’t give you the opportunity to upload a photo. So the times that I’ve used it they deny the report. ### 3/5 — Great concept, faulty execution *2021-10-06* I love the idea of being able to report people illegally occupying a handicapped space and hopefully get them cited since even if local police were called, it’s unlikely the person would still be there when they got there. However, though I understand the need for all of the various photos, I’m not comfortable taking multiple pictures of a stranger’s car, especially in the area I live in. I don’t feel safe enough to do it. And until there are real $$$ consequences, people will continue to break the law. ### 3/5 — Great concept *2021-04-24* Great concept for an app that would help people with mobility issues. However, unless the police department in the area you are in participates, it is just risking confrontation and violence from the owner of the vehicle you are trying to report. (Testament to the sad state of humanity, not the developers) After loading the app, I checked it out a bit then spoke to my local sheriff’s office (friend of mine) about the possibility of them participating. That was when I decided to just delete the app. He said I would be better taking quick video from a safe distance and calling them to send someone out. **Developer response:** Using the App gathers the data necessary to get your community on board. In short, if you want your community to use it, you have to first. ### 4/5 — Good app to have *2021-01-11* I have been using this for a while now and it’s a good app to have for those concerned about accessibility for those who need it. I just hope they can get approval to be used where I’m at. It’s crazy how so many people will selfishly park in those spots purely because it’s more convenient for themselves. I know someone got worried about the indemnification clause. I can understand why since it basically says that if someone decides to sue you for using the app you will be the one responsible for any damages that person wants in compensation for parking illegally. ### 1/5 — Useless *2020-10-15* When you want to report the idiots who park in the disabled spots without displaying a placard, you are risking your safety because u never know who is the idiot. Taking pictures of their windshield and the rear of the car is risky enough so I am not quite sure why you have to do it from within the app? Why can’t the app access your photo library? I have taken the photos and when I open the app there is no way to use them unless I go out again and take the photos from within the app? Come on. Someone should report you for creating a useless app **Developer response:** We are unable to accept photos that are not taken within the Parking Mobility App, or uploads or emails of pictures not taken within the Parking Mobility App because when taking the photos in the App we are also collecting all data necessary for a report as our law enforcement partners require. We also ensure photos cannot be altered, thus preserving the chain of evidence, a requirement of our law enforcement and judicial partners. Without this security measure, the evidence collected would not be admissible in court. Also, if the photos we collected resided on your phone or other device at any point and not originally on our servers, a defense attorney could subpoena your device and hold it for inspection in the event of a trial. Since the only photos we accept reside on our servers, they can subpoena them…we have many. ### 1/5 — This app is dangerous to use!! *2020-08-17* Asking a person to take photos of another person’s car is places that person at risk. People who are most likely to report offenses are likely to have difficulty even getting in and out of their car to complete the documentation process. For these people the process could be long enough for the car’s owner to come out and confront them. In this day and age this is a stupid idea. I am not handicapped but I just spent time helping a lady who is handicapped learn how to use this app. I was appalled at the risks she would be taking to complete the documentation process. I advised her to be very careful or don’t use it at all. ### 3/5 — Happy until I read terms and conditions *2020-08-03* I was very happy to find out that I was going to be able to denounce those idiots parking illegally on disabled spot BUT then I read the terms and conditions in order to use the app and I decided it was too risky as you agree to: release, discharge, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Access Empowerment, its parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees and agents, assigns, sponsors and supporting artists, licensors and suppliers from and against any claims, actions or demands, liabilities and settlements, including, without limitation, legal and accounting fees, related to or arising out of your use in any way of the App, including any User Content (defined below) that you provide and any violations of this Agreement for which you are responsible. Access Empowerment will provide you with prompt notice of any such claim, suit or proceeding and reasonably cooperate with you, at your expense, in your defense of any such claim, suit or proceeding. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2020-02-10* Downgrading my review to a 1. The developer responded with “the app only works when you use it”. Really? I used it. They don’t have connections with police departments when they lead us to believe this app will actually accomplish something. Bad customer service! ———————————————————- I submitted my first report in a large city and received an email that “The violations you submit now are important to: Convince X city that accessible parking violations are a health and safety threat to people with disabilities; and Demonstrate that Parking Mobility is the community-based educational solution. We encourage you and your friends and family to submit all of the violations which you encounter. We would like to work with you and your community to encourage X city to adopt Parking Mobility to address accessible parking abuse. The more violations we provide X city, the more likely Parking Mobility will become the solution for X city.” (City name substituted). This app does NOTHING! Don’t waste your time. **Developer response:** Like any tool, Parking Mobility can only work when you use it. In partner communities there is a connection with local law enforcement. Reports in non-partner communities are even more important because they are the only way to get your community on board. ### 1/5 — Great idea, users need education *2020-01-30* Love the idea. They really need to explain the process better before you use it. Perhaps I should have read the directions more closely but I was in a hurry to report my first abuse before I had to go to my next appointment. My report was rejected for a valid reason- I didn’t get a quality photo through the front windshield. Sorry, due to my disability it would be very difficult for me to maneuver around and take a photo of their front windshield. So, due to my disability I cannot meet reporting requirements. Within my support correspondence I mentioned that the app was rendered useless “to me” for that reason. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t ask my entire (very large) family and every friend to report disabled parking abuse. I will still ask them to do so even after receiving a scathing response to my email detailing the insufficiencies in my report. Thanks, like I didn’t already feel useless myself because I cannot walk. Obviously they need a lot of work on customer education and experience. Otherwise, great idea and particularly relevant in a large metropolitan area where abuse is constant and flagrant. Putting yourself at risk for taking pictures is not worth it especially if they declined your report. Useless app and system. ### 1/5 — Useless *2026-02-18, version 4.8.9* The first time I wasn’t aware I needed to take the pictures using the app, and couldn’t upload them. That was inconvenient, as they are embedded with data for verification. I was already away from the spot, so I took pictures of the display on my iPad using the app. They declined it. So a couple of days later , the same vehicle was there still; it has no plates, and the registration expired 10/25, the inspection expired 01/25 & the blue tag showed that expired 09/2024. They declined it again because the tag was “visible” It is an illegal vehicle, parked in the space for months, but apparently it’s okay because the expired tag is hanging! What a waste of time! ### 1/5 — Meh *2025-12-10* I was excited and recommended this app. Had a violation I needed to report. I tried to then found out you MUST take all pics thru the app. You can’t take pics then upload. U MUST that 3 required pics. If you’re disabled, people can’t always walk around a car snapping pics. Giving tickets should be easy enough with one pic. You have to apply for a placard or handicap plate thru the DMV. I’ll try once more then I’ll delete it. A lot of disabled people won’t be able to use this app due to the requirements. I was trying not to have to call the cops so much for these violations. Guess it’s back to calling the cops and using our 311 app. Be nice if this was a better app to report handicap parking violations only. **Developer response:** The same pics are required. But we can only accept photos submitted within the App per agreements with law enforcement and judicial partners. ### 1/5 — Great concept but terrible app design *2025-03-05, version 4.8.8* You should be able to upload photos from your gallery to the submit photos section. I snapped them before going into the store and now I can’t upload them to the app inside. I have reported twice where it was no sign but the decal on the ground for the spot. There were no signs anywhere in the parking lot. Both violations were denied. Then I get told I can report the need for signs in the app. I couldn’t find it anywhere. Not helpful. ### 1/5 — Great concept but…. *2022-09-24, version 4.8.8* I love the concept and I will be happy to help reporting people the uses and abuses parking and other disable areas but the app makes you fully responsible if you submit any information and the person affected, decides to sue you or whatever. The most common one I find is that people don’t know that they have to hang the placard from their rearview mirror and not just throw it on their dashboard. I’m glad to be a part of a team that keeps handicap parking available for handicap people. **Developer response:** Glad to have you on the Parking Mobility Team! ### 5/5 — It works! *2024-10-03* Quite simply, this works. It sends in the complaint ➡️ 1) IF the person doesn’t actually have a placard/plate and isn’t validly parking in the spot, they get a ticket. 2) IF they do have a right to be there, they show they own a disabled placard or that they were transporting someone who does, (even if it wasn’t displayed at the time), and the ticket gets dismissed. ➡️as a side note Someone in the negative reviews complained about the terms and conditions, but clearly didn’t understand them. It is just agreeing that you won’t hold the app responsible if you wrongly report someone. It takes just a few seconds to snap a few pictures and report problems in your community. ### 5/5 — Effective App *2019-07-29* Parking Mobility app is incredibly effective. Not only are the pictures clear, they are not even stored on your phone. This is exactly how it should be. The photos are legal evidence and are protected through the app. There is no need to take back up photos to store on your personal device. It also launches quickly and has very accurate gps, which helps as you are filling your report. ### 5/5 — Really great app for changing accessible parking behavior *2019-07-28, version 4.8.2* I’ve been using this app now for over two years and I am a certified/deputized in Austin Texas. It’s a great tool for change in behavior and educating the public around the importance of accessible parking.Very easy to use and discreet. It sounds like in order for the platform to be adopted by other municipalities more data is needed.
