Firstly it would be helpful to know if car parks have decent width bays. More importantly, I used last night when visiting theatre in Sunderland, a city I’m not familiar with. The car park I planned to use was closed but was listed as lots of availability on the app and as as open. I then tried the next 2 street parking listings which were also listed as good availability, all full. Ended up travelling to a car park 15 mins walk away in a freaky area, on the way I noticed a number of car parks with spaces which weren’t listed. I wasn’t sure of the access points and the roads were busy and one way so I ended up in the lonely, scary car park and was late for the theatre. I needed to park for a few minutes to pick someone up from Edinburgh Waverley Station. The app told me that the roadside restrictions are Monday to Friday. So today being Sunday, I should have been fine but I came back to my car to find a £50 parking fine on the windscreen.
