Even when you type it into the app, they can’t find it. They require tracking your location because they don’t know where their own parking lots are. The privacy policy does not allow for you to remove your personal information. There’s no setting to delete your account. There’s no way I would put my credit card information into an app that is this poorly conceived. It does not work. ### 1/5 — It literally does not work. Can't select a "scheme" as no "schemes" are shown. *2025-02-02* I was ready and willing to pay for parking, though it seems incredibly dishonest to blanket an entire store parking lot in paid parking signage (definitely will never shop here willingly). But despite being willing to pay for parking, the app made every effort to stop me from doing so. During sign-up, it doesn't accept SSO for Google or Apple. It also inhibits password managers that create secure passwords. It said I have to have "one" (precisely one, no more?!) "Special Character" but doesn't specify what a special characters IS. So my password with "-" doesn't qualify, but it doesn't say why not. Five minutes of password frustration later, I register my car and then enter the location ID, which crashes the app after enabling location access (why? I just entered the ID). Finally, all that done... after selecting "hourly", the app presented no further options, and told me to select a "schema". From a blank list. So... there was actually no way to proceed! ### 1/5 — These people should be in jail *2024-08-16* This is a total scam. I don’t know what kind of back door collusion is going on here to get parking meters replaced with this app but it is a total scam. Why? Why can’t we just make life a little easier with technology. Instead of taking maybe a minute to pay at a parking meter, most of which now accept credit cards or even tap to pay, you have to take 10 to 15 minutes downloading this app. Figuring out it’s outdated login and password standards. Trying to locate yourself. Then setting up a payment method. I just want to park so I can do a load of laundry! Oh yeah, then come to find out they want to charge a convenience fee for this! And the worst part of this… this app was charging $2 an hour plus a .30¢ “convenience” fee to park, but in the very same parking lot, literally 3 spots over where there was still a parking meter, $1 an hour, no convenience fee, 20 seconds to pay by credit card. These people and the politicians who approve this with what ever wine and dining that is going on need to be voted out and investigated. This is actually how public engagement starts… and maybe what this app was actually designed to do. If so, 5 stars. ### 1/5 — Absolutely pathetic *2024-05-13* App failed creating a new user. Other users also had issues with phone pmt. 1 of 2 ticket machines in Berkeley carpark broken and then don’t support Applepay. 10 minute queue to buy a ticket. ### 1/5 — Avoid at all costs *2023-11-04* Horrible App. I used it months ago and then turned off (entered STOP) and now I cannot use the app b/c I turned off all of their many texts. Been using it for 1 year across different versions and they never get it right. This feels more like a beta app that someone for a school project converted with a free code converter to an iphone app, and somehow also convinced my city to use for paid parking. I'm pretty annoyed that my city would even install any parking spaces with ParkSmart/EasyPark, it's that bad. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2023-03-16* Couldn’t use it. The app kept crashing. Crashed again at the same place. How did this get published? ### 1/5 — Unusable *2022-12-23* App is extremely slow to load. When it does load, it won't accept my credit cards. There are options to pay using paypal and others, but they are grayed out and won't work. It took 10 minute to set up and upload payment information and despite doing all the things, I still received a parking ticket that I need to print out and fill out a dispute form and mail back in. Total hoax and you have no option. ### 1/5 — Dysfunctional App *2026-05-19, version 2.25* App function really struggling to function properly. ### 1/5 — Predatory Ticketing Practices *2026-02-01* Insecure app, poor privacy policy, careful whenever parking in their lots. They will ticket your car for $35 for minor infractions with little to no grace period. It is technically within their right to do so, but dishonest and unfair. Whenever using one of their lots (which I don’t recommend) pay parking immediately or they will ambush your car with an infraction. Don’t bother appealing if they do, it will be rejected. ### 1/5 — I HATE PARKSMART *2026-01-25, version 2.24* Park mobile is such a better app. PARKSMART is so unreliable and terribly designed.
