## What is ParkWatchy?

ParkWatch turns your neighborhood into a safer, more accessible place — one photo at a time.

Spot a car blocking a wheelchair ramp? Parked in a fire lane? Squeezing into two spaces? Document it, share it, and let your community know.

What you can do:

Photograph parking hazards with your camera or photo library
Auto-tag your location so nearby users see what's happening in their area
Choose from 8 violation categories: Sidewalk Blocker, Fire Lane, Double-Spacer, ADA, Crosswalk, Bike Lane, No Parking, and more
Discover trending reports from your city and beyond
Upvote posts that highlight real community issues
Built for community, not confrontation.
ParkWatch is a documentation and awareness tool. Posts are shared with your neighbors — not submitted to any government or law enforcement agency. We're here to raise awareness, not to replace 911.

Join your neighbors in making streets safer for everyone.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.0 — 2026-05-31

Redesigned comments with gesture dismiss and keyboard fixes. Like individual comments with a heart. Shared post links now show the actual violation photo in the preview

### 2.1.0 — 2026-04-22

Better link previews. Share a post and the link now shows the photo with the violation type and city baked in — no more generic preview.
Push notifications. Get a tap on the shoulder when someone likes or comments on your post, or replies in a thread you're part of. Manage them anytime in Settings.
Browse without an account. New guest mode lets people scroll the feed and check out posts before signing up. Liking, commenting, and posting still require an account.
Smoother commenting. The comment box now stays put above the keyboard so you can always see what you're typing.
Tap to fix location. If ParkWatch detects your location has drifted, the banner is now tappable and jumps straight to your phone's Settings.
A nicer post page. Opening a single post is faster and easier to read.
Stability under the hood. Crash reporting and a bunch of small fixes so the app feels snappier and more reliable.

### 2.0 — 2026-04-18

Faster, smoother feeds across the board
Photos load progressively with a placeholder, and load instantly the second time you see them
Skeleton placeholders while the feed is loading instead of a blank screen
Endless scrolling on the main feed, Discover, and Nearby
Discover now shows "X of Y" so you can see how far you've gone
The feed remembers your spot when you tap into a post and come back
Feed quietly refreshes itself if the app's been idle for a while
Your Nearby filter now sticks across app restarts
If you travel far from your Nearby spot, a banner offers to update it to your current location

### 1.2.2 — 2026-04-16

Added "User Count" on the Community Stats screen

### 1.2.1 — 2026-04-15

Added a comment button (speech bubble) to every post card
Tapping it opens a bottom sheet where users can read and post comments
Comments show anonymously using each user's unique ID
Fixed a production bug where comments were failing due to a database column mismatch

#YouCantParkThere
Added as a new selectable violation type when creating a post, with a ban icon

Location saved as default for the compose screen
License plate blurring improvements (tighter bounding box, two-stage blur, rate limit fix on second images)
User feedback section
