It’s like having the GBA era Fire Emblem games on your phone! Good stuff!

### 5/5 — Amazing RPG

### 5/5 — Partia 3

### 5/5 — I’m hooked

*2019-12-27*

I went in completely blind as I have never played fire emblem or the other games this is based off of. It took a little patience to understand some of the mechanics and I died at about the fifth mission. That being said after a little internet research and fumbling through my first go I’m both excited and determined to finish this game. Thank you for making it I hope it’s not your last.

**Developer response:** Wow, I didn't expect someone without Fire Emblem background to enjoy the game but I'm certainly glad you are! LOL, if you can let me know of your experience and feedback after playing through this game, I would really appreciate it too. Thank you very much!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-12-01*

The detail in this game is great. Just as the first and second Partia games, the storyline is exciting. I like the new additions to the game such as the recruitment option and unlimited purchases of weapons from the shops. There’s just one thing I’m having trouble with. Right before I went into the Chapter 7 mission, I noticed there were two Fletchs in my HQ. So I thought it would go away when I finished the mission as it might’ve been a minor glitch. Well, I finished the mission and I went to organize my inventory to find out that I have 30 Fletchs filling in all my remaining slots. I was just wondering if you guys know what I should do to solve this. Other than that, this game is great!

Edit: So I ended up going to an older save because I wasn’t that far into the game and it all worked out great. I’m on chapter 15 now and I’ve decided to recruit a few troops, so I could mess around with a unit of Cavaliers or Armor Knights. Once again, I LOVE THIS GAME! For a solo project, Partia 3 earns flying colors on many aspects from its gameplay and story to the little things such as the animations and the intermission menu. I find it hard to put my phone down when I open Partia 3. You might as well be a lead developer for Fire Emblem games because the quality of Partia 3, let alone the series, exceeds all expectations. I’m surprised it’s not more well known. Thank you for gifting many people with a beautiful game that deserves more appreciation!

**Developer response:** Wow Fletch clones in your army? Now this is a new and never-before-seen issue! I checked my code and there's no Fletch adding event after the player choice in stage 3 for sure. Indeed very strange. I will try to reproduce the issue but perhaps you may want to reload an older save because if you have all the spots occupied you cannot recruit more units... or you could try killing extra Fletches in the arena for now? lol

### 5/5 — Old School Fire Emblem

*2019-10-10*

Like the old Fire Emblem games for Gameboy. Doesn’t need graphic cause it has all the essentials of a real turnbased SRPG. xD

**Developer response:** Old school as old school gets! LOL Have fun please!

### 5/5 — This series.

*2019-10-05*

This series of games be it small is amazing. By far one of the best indie series i have played. You said in the description you did this by yourself then i applaud you. The first two games have been great. I dont think of them as time wasters as other mobile games tend to be. They are works of art. Beautiful games in an old school style. As i said in my crappily written review of Partia 2 and Partia i planned on buying all 3 after i started the first one. It has been a journey and I will still play the first two games as they are amazing. But i havent started this yet. I just wanted to show my support. And it is very clear the ui jump from the first to the second game as it got a lot better. If the experience in this one is better than the second installment I will be more than pleased. Thank you for producing this series. And thank you for being who you are. We need more people like you in this world. Stick to their plans see things through not monetizing every little thing. Yes the game is paid to play but its a one time purchase for an unlimited amount of play. I wish i could support you some other way since now i have purchased all 3 of your games. If you had decided to pick up developing another im sure some people would come back and buy it myself included. You have done great work.

**Developer response:** Oh man, thank you very much and I really appreciate your kind words. This game series took a chunk of my life so every time somebody enjoy the games I get a satisfaction that I didn't waste it away LOL! Anyways please let me know if you have any suggestion and such as the games still have rooms for improvements. Thank you again!

### 5/5 — Top tier mobile series

*2019-08-19*

I’ve been following since the 1st came out. Every time a new one comes I get excited. Continual growth, awesome stories, great combat. Appreciate the grinding options that have been put in. Please continue to make these games!

**Developer response:** Wow! Thank you for accompanying me for my journey of Partia games making! I'm really glad you've noticed the improvements over series continuation. :-D I do think too that series have gotten better with each release. Currently I'm trying out making a text-based CYOD game in Partia world, but I hope one day I can assemble a team again to make the next SRPG journey.

### 5/5 — Inspirational!

*2019-07-19*

So I just bought the partia games and I can say playing them back to back, it's an amazing series. I absolutely am in love with the stories, they style. It's retro in the best way.

I'm not sure if it's been asked for but I would love to see your take on a different genre after this. As a writer and an srpg junkie your games make me want to try my own hand at crafting a small scale mobile project.

Really appreciate all of the hard work, and what a refresher to not have in app purchases and pay walls. My only "complaint" is that I'd love to see more animations or variation in the existing animations, but to be honest the minimalism is also a plus. I HATE the long drawn out cut scenes of modern FE titles during combat. Can't wait to see and experience your next project! And if you ever put out any dlc or expansions just know I'll buy them!

**Developer response:** Wow thanks for your kind words! I'm glad someone's enjoying the Partia stories especially, as I know they are not everyone's cup of tea. ;-)

Personally I feel you should try your hand on making SRPG games as I would certainly enjoy playing more of them, and I think there are tools such as SRPG maker which might make the process easier.

For my next game I'm tinkering with doing a short something with Partia 2's main character, Pell, as I feel there are many adventures in future with him, and he is a red haired quiet guy, lol.

Thanks again for your support!

### 5/5 — Pure Magic

*2019-06-30*

Personally I can say it was worth the wait. Only thing I want added if you make another Partia, be able to start of as a cavalier. But all and all I love the game, I like how each decision shapes your future. Also happy most battles allow more units based on the opposing army. Good job and very well done, look forward to your next game release.

**Developer response:** Hi JColeman, ha ha, yeah it's the FE Lord thing. Although the lord will get promoted to a horse riding high lord in the middle of the game, I'll make sure next main character is a rider. Thank you!

### 5/5 — I like it

*2019-03-11*

I played the first two and loved them and so far loving this game .. i think a mage rider at the start would be amazing .. I love mages

**Developer response:** Hi Blad, I'm glad you're loving the game so far! A mage rider would be really good to have, especially for enemies! Ha ha. If we further go on the production, I'll add that to my list along with a dragon. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Been waiting forever for this

*2019-02-15*

There’s something to be said about determined developers who don’t back down from their passion projects, and we need more devs like Dustin. I sincerely hope that Partia 3 is the game that breaks through the barrier and becomes popular; because I know anything he makes from this point on, if he can, will be stellar and heartfelt.

**Developer response:** Thanks! I truly much appreciate your good will and support! I will do my best not to disappoint you!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-02-14, version 1.0.3*

Great game! Really enjoyed Partia 1 and 2 and I hope this keeps going and going!

**Developer response:** Thank you very much! I am sure Partia 3 is the best of the three so hopefully you will enjoy this game as well! :-D

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Display broken on big iPad

*2020-03-02, version 1.0.8*

Game displays in a small window on top right and has right edge cropped off. Would love to play it, hopefully display issue can be addressed.

### 2/5 — I do not see why anybody is enjoying this game

*2022-04-23*

Unless I’m missing something. This game is completely boring. The battles are lengthy, I feel like you’re grinding from the second fight. The miss rate is incredible. My guys are constantly missing their targets. And when they do hit it takes maybe 15to 20% of the enemies Life away which means I have to attack the same character something like six or seven times. And when it’s a battle that involves 15 to 20 enemies, I could spend an hour to an hour and a half on one battle. I can understand if this came later in the game after you got the player hooked. But my goodness what a snooze fest.

**Developer response:** I think you may be absolutely right Zach! Partia series is really not made for people who never tried old school Fire Emblem games, with lack of tutorials, etc. Partia 3 is especially made to be challenging, especially with Expert mode ON, by default. And yes, I put a lot of enemies into the field, and so I had to put a SKIP button on top to speed up enemy turn just for that lol!

### 3/5 — Difficulty Spike

*2019-09-04*

When you boot up the game there are 3 options: Horse rule, active turn, and expert mode. Unless you want to be beaten to the point where you likely won’t be able to progress any further in the main story, I recommend turning this option off. I say that because the official description is “for more balanced difficulty” and by default it’s turned ON. I was able to make it about 4 missions in losing 1-2 people per mission, but by the time you get to the 5th (?) mission set in the desert I had only 6 members left, and I left the mission with 2. This is mostly because of the ballistae stationed around the map which will one shot your weaker soldiers and have ridiculous range. Now after that mission i was able to recruit my own soldiers for relatively cheap, but it turned out not to matter in the end because my level one troops did only 1 dmg to most of the troops at that point. So I’m stuck 5 hours in with a bunch of ineffective troops and now I have to restart the game. That being said I’m going to try it again without expert mode because the gameplay and story were worth it. Here’s to hoping that without expert mode on the game won’t be so punishing.

**Developer response:** LOL I'm sorry you have to restart the game but your description of your journey really warms my heart, for Expert mode was made to make the game challenging without being unfair, just like my memories of early Fire Emblem games. Now in regular 'casual' mode the exp gain will be much higher and you won't have too much trouble progressing through the stages since your units will be higher levelled than the enemies! Thank you very much for playing the game, truly!

### 4/5 — Great game with major place for improvement

*2022-08-20, version 2.0.0*

This is a great game for anyone who is fan of fire emblem, but I found one major place for improvement: The probability in this game is just horrible I don’t know what library you guys use in your code but for both stats growth and hit rate a lot of times it’s so frustrating to see no stat growth in 3 consecutive upgrade or no hit for a hit rate of 60%, this is why I hope you can add the load option inside the game menu because I need to keep reload game to get better stats during upgrade. I guess you guys probably want to add more randomness to the game but let‘s be honest no modern game does this nowadays and why not just change to make stats growth configurable to let players control the path?

### 4/5 — Really fun, needs a little UI love

*2019-12-30*

Reminds me of playing old Shining Force games from a long time ago. It could use a few improvements to get the last star, but it is quite fun and under appreciated.

1)Needs some more documentation in-game:

-The description of characters or classes should tell you what kind of role they play. Are Cavalier-S weak against something, or are they just categorically better than a swordsman?
- took me a while to figure out how to equip armor. You should really be able to do this in the HQ.
-what are weapon level and weight? And do they affect anything? Why would I wear Light when there is Chain? And why all those shields?
- In the shops, you need a way of knowing who can use the item. How would you know a mage can’t use healing when you don’t even know there is a healer unit in the game yet? Or that half of the melee classes can’t use any armor or shield at all?
- what’s the difference between the spells? Presumably some enemies are weak to different elements but how would you know?

2) I’m still kind of early in the game but character balance seems a bit off. Units that can take a few hits seem to level up very quickly. Ranged units do ok as well. Healers seem to get very very little exp for healing. Everyone else has to try to snipe a kill so that they don’t take the retaliation and be instantly destroyed. The further the game goes like this, the weaker they get, and the harder it is to make them useful.
I realize that this genre often makes a few classes that start off weak but become very powerful...but that should be the exception not the rule.

3) You have to select your team before you have any idea what the battle situation will be. That takes all the strategy out of it.

None of this breaks the game though, so I’m still enjoying it.

**Developer response:** Wow Jagnich, all your points are true! The game lacks player friendly instructions and guides. I feel it's a bit late to overhaul some of the choices I made, but here's how weapon level and weight works: weapon level is meaningless as I discarded the system to check proficiency before using the weapon back in P1 LOL. But your battle speed = Your speed - ((equipment weights - your strength/2) or 0 if you're too strong) and if battle speed difference is more than 3 then second attack is made.
Most of promoted units will be able to wear armors, if not shields. But I think I only have 'can wear armor' to promoted unit descriptions and not lower classes.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy the game to see it through!

### 4/5 — Battle mechanics slow

*2019-07-07*

Even with single click battle setting the battle mechanics can get slow with a lot of units. Playing a few other SRPGs having a more streamline move/attack/heal mechanic could make the game better.

Update: Once I got past the first few stages I’m enjoying the game much more. I just wished the one guide out there by Lanez explained how the unit stats worked.

Dev: There is a pretty annoying inventory bug. If you press the Done button to the left of the letter o, it will take the item that is scrolled under the Done button before closing the screen. So your character always gets some random item added to his inventory you didn’t mean to take.

Bug: Cannot promote Denevra trying with all 3 promotion items. She’s supposed to be a Dragoon but in my game she’s listed as a generic Cavalier and has description sword class. I talked to her as soon as she appeared in the recruitment stage but she displays as cavalier and not dragoon.

**Developer response:** Hi Sonny, yes I agree the UI flow is too old school compared to drag and attack or something condensed in bigger screen. That’s partly because the game still operates in vga screen space so someday I will try a new way! Thanks for a review and suggestion and I hope you will still enjoy the game!

### 4/5 — Its progress.

*2019-01-26*

I personally like it and its definitely an improvement from Partia 1 and 2, not that they are bad games in their own right. But there is one problem. Battle animations are practically nonexistent, and the overall mechanics haven’t changed whatsoever. Normally, a game sticking to its roots is a good thing but at the same time, it is starting to feel uneventful. But I have only begun playing, so my judgement here may change in the future.

**Developer response:** Hi Shepic, yeah sorry there are no big battle animations. I hope you enjoy the rest of the game though!

### 5/5 — Incroyable

*2026-04-22, version 2.1.0*

On dirait vraiment Fire emblème, dommage que pour l’instant cela ne sois pas adapté en français mais sinon super jeu ! J’attends le 4 avec impatience

### 5/5 — Engaging, challenging and fun!

*2025-09-17*

You can tell that a lot of thought went into the game, and I really love some of the special touches like selections you make in the beginning that determine who your character ends up being. My two suggestions have already been raised by others - (1) healers are helpful but it’d be great if they could also attack in some way so you can keep them leveling with the team. (2) Would love to better understand the difference between the different spells, like which spells are better for what? Are some enemies weak to fire but resist ice? I can’t tell other than the weight.
Thank you for making these games!

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot TKStrobe! I remember choosing not to give attack options to healers to create some tactical vulnerability to players and also making smart enemies prioritize attacking them lol. It could have been the simplicity of item system where eligibility was just the class. Weapon triangle exists for magics: elemental > light > dark > elemental which is about 30% advantage. There are special skills you can learn e.g. Fire Mage that makes your fire spells stronger, and I believe I removed any penalty for using other magic types. I appreciate your kind words!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-05-29*

Really, really fun game. Can’t stress enough how amazing this trilogy has been for me.

**Developer response:** Awesome! Thank you very much Bob! I'm glad you're enjoying the game.

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — More

*2022-10-06*

I needs it please, love the game concept I still like playing the older fire emblem games. Just don’t like the pay to win

**Developer response:** Lol it seems I can't working on games as my top two hobbies!

### 5/5 — Amazing Game

*2021-11-13*

Absolutely amazing game! I was always a huge fan of the fire emblem games and have been searching for games that recreates that feeling and this game checks every box. Level design is awesome, story line is interesting, love the arena and the fact that I can have my own character (would like some more customization options in the next game). All in all great game can’t wait for Partia 4!

**Developer response:** Oh, thank you very much BTC18! I think you pinpointed the good parts of the game and was forgiving to many shortcomings. I've come to appreciate how old school Fire Emblem fans may enjoy the general 'it' of the game!

### 5/5 — Absolutely love it.

*2021-09-09*

3 of them to enjoy as well.

**Developer response:** Partia 3 I think is the best one of them and certainly the most epic! I hope you enjoy!

### 5/5 — Getting into the game!

*2020-10-03*

I’m liking it so far it’s a bit slow paced could have maybe a speed up button but maybe in the next project you developers on working on! I like portraits alot!

**Developer response:** Wow thank you! I certainly hope you can soldier on to the end of the game! :-D

### 5/5 — Nostalgia and Immersive

*2020-06-29*

I just want to say the new additions to the gameplay within the game make this so more of an immersive experience. I’m so glad to see the direction of where the series is going, and it feels so thrilling to see the progress in storyline and gameplay throughout the trilogy. It also brings back so many memories of my childhood from games like Advanced Wars and Fire Emblem.

Even though there are several typos and oddly placed dialogues, the game and story is still amazing in every other right.

However, even though I’ve played the game several times now, I’m still curious as to unlocking the hidden stages...

**Developer response:** Hi! I’m very glad you’ve enjoyed my little/big game lol. Now as for the hidden stages, you have to visit a house in the middle of deep forest in stage 8: March on Grana. Then assuming Hem stays alive other hidden stages will ne unlocked! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great Series!

*2020-03-27*

I really like the Partia games! It gives me something to do when i'm craving more fire emblem. While there aren't any supports, it still has all the major things that make up a fire emblem game, and it's an enjoyable experience all around :) The only thing I'm missing for this installment is the growth rate list for all of the units. Is there anywhere I can find one?

**Developer response:** Thank you very much for playing the game! I've posted the growth rate for P3 characters at Imago website: http://playimago.com at the News blog. I hope it helps out!

### 5/5 — Your amazing

*2020-03-22*

I hope that the fire emblem team hires you because your amazing. I honestly wish they realized their is a market for making the old school GBA type fire emblems

**Developer response:** LOL Thank you very much! Although I must say FE on mobile must have had a good business compared to my games! ;-)
