### 2/5 — Apparently abandoned app

*2025-01-03, version 3.3.0*

With the last update being made three years ago (to disable support for setting up the Xenon devices and mesh networks that the company abandoned), this seems like a dead app. They haven’t added support to set up the Photon 2 (which I believe was released over a year ago), and it shows up as an “unknown” device type. I had to use the CLI to set up a new P2 device.

### 3/5 — Please add iPad support

*2021-03-14, version 3.1.1*

Basic functionality works in low res, not a native ipad app.

I like particle products, would be great to have an iPad app with full functionality of web IDE, event monitor etc. built in!!

### 3/5 — Barely functional interface with minimal usage

*2021-02-13, version 3.1.1*

Update - After finding that the Tinker functionality is not robustly implemented in the hardware, and the apps failure to recognize incompatible installation may actually be a firmware shortcoming, I'm adding a couple stars back. I still think this app is very limited as it doesn't allow any debugging, upgrading, flashing, or recovery for devices.

### 2/5 — Cant connect to wifi

*2015-12-13, version 1.5*

Please do a big update on the wifi connectivity issue. Cant use my photon if i cant connect to wifi. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Worked like a charm.

*2015-12-10, version 1.5*

The app was successful in connecting to my Photon and attaching it to the house WiFi. Did not see any change in an LED hooked up to pin D0 when using the app to change the pin output state with the device in Tinker mode. But I only had 15 minutes to play with it, and it could be cockpit error.

### 2/5 — Not ready for prime time!

*2015-11-27, version 1.5*

There's great potential here, make no mistake. It however has yet to be realized. I could never connect my Photon to WiFi using this app. Just wouldn't do it! Then the Photon quit working, after only maybe an hour of run time. The helpful folks at Looking Glass are sending me a new Photon, so we'll see. Stay tuned!

### 1/5 — It's so easy - no it's not

*2015-10-09, version 1.5*

Very disappointed. I cannot get the product to connect to my wifi using this app. Product is useless. Similar experience as the reviewer above. Did I mention I am very disappointed? AVOID THIS PRODUCT!

### 1/5 — Unable to connect to wifi

*2015-10-02, version 1.5*

I recently purchased the photon and was unable to perform the setup via the iPhone app or the CLI. The CLI was able to connect to the photon but hung "Obtaining device information" while attempting to connect it to my wifi network. I was never able to connect to the board's wifi network with my iPhone. I tried flashing on new firmware and resetting my public key as suggested in the docs but to no avail. I would highly recommend avoiding this product.

### 1/5 — No t402 support

*2020-11-17, version 3.1.1*

Does not seem to support the t402 tracker module.
But then the Web IDE does not support the module either.

### 1/5 — Crap

*2020-04-03, version 3.1.0*

Garbage. Don’t waste your time or money. Have an older Photon that is now useless and won’t connect to this app. Throwing it in the ocean made me feel a lot better.

### 1/5 — Why Remove your best feature?

*2019-09-10, version 3.0.0*

The only reason I used this app was because it would display my devices WAN IP address ( I don’t have a static ISP), so I could ssh easily into my devices without needing to come up with a third party way of figuring out my WAN address. Why take this out??

### 1/5 — Junk

*2019-08-10, version 2.8.2*

The product is junk bewhere you can’t remove a credit card from their system there is absolutely zero support and the CEO is a wet noodle..

### 1/5 — Don’t buy the Mesh edition yet.

*2018-11-25, version 2.6.2*

Don’t buy the Mesh edition yet. They “push” these devices after struggling with production and seems they did not do the appropriated testing. There are many problems when creating the mesh network and the apps fails miserably during the mesh setup. Only works fine for the Photon version.

### 1/5 — Super terrible, why do we need this?

*2018-10-10, version 2.5.1*

This app is brutally bad. I’ve setup numerous photons in my student lab and frequently it just doesn’t work and nothing you can do will make it connect. There’s no diagnostics readily apparent. You’ll be quick to get a fail message but have no idea why. I suppose it wouldn’t really matter if they did give you a reason as no tools exist to correct it. There’s basically no desktop support either. If you want to configure this you’ll be getting into terminal and hombrew. I setup about a dozen of these per semester and one or two simply won’t connect to the app. I can’t for the life of me figure out why I keep buying these things.

### 1/5 — Crashes when accessing device

*2017-02-03, version 2.1*

Crashes to home screen when accessing electron. First time using this app, not a good start

### 1/5 — should provide a bug report

*2017-02-01, version 2.1*

after update to iOS 10.2, the app starts crashing while connecting to Electron. Particle io should provide a bug report portal. And keep following iOS updating. hope this issue could be fixed soon.

### 1/5 — It's crashing!!

*2017-01-26, version 2.1*

After updating to iOS 10.2, this app started crashing while trying to display info about my Electron device. What a piece of garbage! Do you guys ever test your software!?

### 1/5 — Just crashes on setup

*2015-12-29, version 1.6*

Use the desktop setup method instead. This app just crashes after connecting to the Photon over Wifi.

### 5/5 — Electron

*2018-02-11, version 2.2*

I love my Electron. I had to learn to program it, bug once I did, I just worked, and still does, every time. I must post my project somewhere, but I don’t know where to do it.

### 5/5 — Great results!

*2018-02-08, version 2.2*

Just as advertised had Tinker turning on or off an LED in 10 mins out of the box on iPhone 6+. Remember to connect to both your home WiFi and the Photon WiFi according to Tinkers instructions. This is an incredibly powerful chip for $19.00. Five Stars Spark, Thank you for a great product!! Would like to play with the other chips you manufacture.....

### 5/5 — Five Stars

*2017-03-21, version 2.2*

Worked as advertised

### 5/5 — Reliable and functional

*2016-11-28, version 2.1*

Manage your various devices, if you're finding this then you already know.

### 5/5 — Great update!

*2016-11-18, version 2.1*

Very handy App for controlling and monitoring multiple particle devices. With this update, the App finally skips the welcome screen if the user is already logged in.

### 5/5 — Super easy setup

*2016-03-24, version 1.6*

This app is super cool. Only thing I wish was that I didn't have to press "Get Started" every time I open the app. Seems like that should only happen if the user is not already logged in

### 5/5 — Great app! Beautiful design and fully functional

*2016-01-21, version 1.6*

Great app! Beautiful design and fully functional

### 4/5 — Does well what it’s meant to do

*2018-10-30, version 2.6*

Useful for quick checkup of online devices or for setting up a new device. I wish it has some options for saving latest published messages or for creating a custom interfaces using cloud functions. Looking forward for more features from Particle’s awesome team.

### 4/5 — Love the app!

*2018-07-25, version 2.3*

Please consider adding iPad support or even better being able to develop on the iPad!

### 4/5 — Does the job quite well

*2016-06-19, version 1.6*

Gets a Particle Photon or Electron onto a wifi network.

I wish I could use it to write and edit code - that would be cool.
