Airplay function looks good, the word or phrase is hidden from everyone but the person drawing. The user interface is simple and clean. The bad... Only 2 of the colors actually work, all the other colors show up as green. Phrases and words are too difficult for the difficulty level they are listed under or plain impossible to draw. Words and phrases are in odd categories, Crayola Crayons aren't a "fad" The last update for the app was more than 6 months ago so either the developers gave up on the app or I'm the first person to realize there are any issues. The apps free but the in app purchases end up being a complete waste when you realize how little you can do with two colors and messed up phrases and difficulty levels. ### 2/5 — Awsowme! *2014-07-09, version 1.7* It is awsowme ### 3/5 — Fun when it works *2014-06-29, version 1.7* It's lots of fun when it works however every time we try and play about halfway through the game the chalkboard won't respond. And no it's not on the erase setting. Was going to purchase some of the packs but will not be doing that until the bugs are fixed. The airplay to Apple TV feature is essential for the games enjoyment in my opinion. It's a bit laggy whilst drawing though which can be annoying. Th e software is very beta though. Sometimes I cannot play at all because the start button won't activate. Sometimes takes awhile to load. Really annoying to be sure. Also, very crude drawing tools. It's worth trying; maybe you'll have better luck. Went to play it the second time but it crashed and got stuck on loading. Deleted the app and downloaded it again then it crashed again and now won't even setup. What a shame. Horrible ### 1/5 — NOT for little kids! NOT a family game! *2016-01-07, version 1.7.3* This app is rated for ages 4+ so we bought it for family game night. All was fun and good until my 8 year old drew "sex on the beach". Yes, it's a drink, but NOT an appropriate subject for kids to be drawing. ### 1/5 — Crashes, poor connection to atv3 - couldn't play *2015-12-26, version 1.7.3* Spent $ to buy the expansion pack for a Christmas get together. App constant crashed, problems sharing to ATV3 and totally unusable. ### 1/5 — Potential - Lots of work *2015-10-01, version 1.7.1* As mentioned in a prior review there are some significant issues that prevent this app from shining. "Chalk" colors selected do not match output and end up either as neon green or pink/purple. AirPlay through AppleTV is nice but it became apparent that it had not been tested thoroughly. Screen layouts were in consistent between menus and we're not intuitive. You always have to select the basic game deck even if it is the only one you have. Output on the tv resulted in cropped screens regardless of tv formatting (wide, stretched, fit, 16:9 and 4:3). It need some serious work. For now you are better off with pencil and paper. ### 1/5 — don't bother *2014-09-21, version 1.7* every 2 or 3 drawings it would quit drawing. had to exit the app, shut it down, start it up again, and resume the game, it would pick it up where it left off, WITH the doodles created trying to get it to draw in the first place. Well designed and works great with Apple TV. Some of the negative reviews are very old so they may be irrelevant. It can be challenging at times on the 3 point cards but still so much fun! I'm experiencing a couple of bugs though: there is literally no sound and when using Apple TV, the screen size gets distorted when you flip in and out of the app. Sometimes it actually fits the TV screen but eventually it will get distorted again. Using iPad and iOS 8.1.3. ### 4/5 — Great fun *2013-01-18* Fun trying to think of how to draw the name of a song or movie. I play against my dog and use my husband to guess the answers. Cons: Some content is specific to America and doesn't play so well in the UK. Bit buggy in the menu department - sometimes what you see on your TV screen is completely different to what you are seeing on your iPad. This tends to happen when you start a new game and you have to fiddle about with the menu a bit to get it sorted again. ### 4/5 — Great game *2012-06-12, version 1.1* A drawing type game is a natural for iPad+AirPlay. So glad one's finally available. The app is a pleasure to look at, and a lot of fun to play. I will say that your wifi network will need to be rock-solid.
