## What is Passport Days?

Passport Days counts the days you spend in each country and shows how many you have left under the rules that apply to you. It is your own record, kept on your phone: not an official record and not a government service.

It counts; it does not decide. Tax days, UK absences and US state days are day counts, not a ruling on your residency, your visa or your taxes.

FOUR COUNTERS
Switch on the ones you need in the Counters tab.
• Stay allowances: Schengen 90/180, UK visits, your US entry (the Admit Until date from your own I-94) and other countries' stay rules for your passport. Where a rule is uncertain, the app says so and lets you enter your own.
• UK absence counter: days spent outside the UK in the last 12 months, with the threshold set for your settlement route (Premium).
• Tax days (countries): 24 countries, each counted in its own window: a calendar year, a tax year, a rolling 12 months, the longest continuous stretch or, for the US, a weighted three-year total. 15 show the commonly cited threshold and its source (Premium); 9 explain why there is no single number.
• US states: days in all 50 states and DC, with the threshold for the 26 states whose law sets one (Premium). A count can be lower than the real number, because a short visit can be missed.

HOW DAYS GET COUNTED
Add a stay by hand with a country and two dates, describe a trip in one sentence with Add with AI, or let Premium notice country and US state changes in the background: a few readings a day, no continuous GPS. Your correction always wins. A status banner on Today shows whether automatic tracking is working.

FREE, ALWAYS
• One active stay allowance on Today
• Day counts for UK absences, tax days and US states
• Your full history, on a timeline and a map
• Add, correct or delete any stay by hand
• CSV and JSON export, and sync through your own iCloud

PREMIUM (monthly or yearly subscription, or one-time Lifetime purchase)
• Automatic country and US state detection
• Tax-day thresholds and reminders for 15 countries
• US state day thresholds, 26 of 51
• The threshold for your UK settlement route
• More than one allowance tracked at once, and more than one passport
• 10 widgets for the Lock Screen and Home Screen
• Reminders before the days run out
• Add with AI

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no ads and no third-party trackers. Counting works offline. Your history stays on your phone and in your own iCloud. The app goes online only for iCloud sync, purchases, the optional cloud AI (off until you agree; only the sentence you type is sent to the AI provider) and messages you send from Support or Request a counter.

Passport Days is not ETIAS, ESTA or the EU's Entry/Exit System (EES): it does not issue travel authorizations, decide admission or connect to any government system. It counts the days you have recorded.

Available in English, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish, Ukrainian and Traditional Chinese.

IMPORTANT
Passport Days is information, not legal, immigration or tax advice, and not an official entry or exit record. Automatic detection is approximate near borders. Always check your own documents and the official sources.

SUBSCRIPTION AND TERMS
Passport Days Premium is offered as a Monthly or Yearly auto-renewable subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. The Yearly plan includes a two-week free trial for new subscribers; the Monthly plan has no free trial. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; you can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings. Lifetime is a single payment: nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-02

Passport Days 1.3 redesigns the country pages and fixes how a saved UK permission shows up.

• Country pages: clearer status cards, one card for all your passports with a line for each, and a picture of your UK absence days.
• UK fix: a saved UK permission now shows on the card even before your first recorded stay in the United Kingdom. Each passport says what is still missing.
• U.S. entry: the I-94 Admit Until date is only the date you pick. A note appears when that date is today or has passed, with a way to review your entry.
• UK and U.S. setup: guided questions in the same style as the first-run setup.
• How this was determined: clearer pages with the numbers and the sources behind each count.
• Settings › Travel permissions: shows how many absence questions you have answered.
• Counters tab: bigger numbers and slim progress bars. Add a counter › Tax now offers country tax days and US state tax days.
• Edit stay: a live summary at the top and grouped fields. The page for a single stay is redesigned too.
• Premium screen: a clearer free-trial label on the Yearly plan for new subscribers.
• Accessibility: better VoiceOver labels, layouts that stack at large text sizes, and calmer transitions with Reduce Motion.

As before, it counts and does not decide: day counts are information, not legal, immigration or tax advice.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-01

Passport Days 1.2 adds export by period and a list of your trips outside a country.

• Export by period: choose All time, This year, Last year, Last 12 months or a custom range, then share a CSV file or a PDF summary.
• Trips outside a country: a dated list of your trips outside a country you choose, with a UK, U.S. or Canada counting style. Copy it as a table or share it as CSV or PDF.
• A floating tab bar: press and slide between tabs. The + menu now offers Add a past trip, Add a counter, Export and Plan a trip.
• Compare EES counts (Schengen): enter the days left that the EES check tool shows and see how they differ from your own records. A link opens the tool in your browser.
• Add a counter: one page for the ready-made counters, with search.
• Watched counters: pick a stay counter and it starts counting before your first recorded stay. The “Stop watching” action removes one that has no stays.
• Your margin: keep 0 to 3 days in reserve and see an earlier date beside Leave by.
• Plan a trip (Premium): try a future stay and see the days used, the last day inside the allowance and the earliest arrival for a stay of a length you choose.
• Widgets (Premium): the Tinted and Clear looks show country codes such as EU and US, and a saved U.S. admission date no longer reads “Unknown”.
• Smoother launch, a cleaner Antarctica on the map, and plainer labels for U.S. entry class and state day counts.

As before, it counts and does not decide: day counts are information, not legal, immigration or tax advice.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-30

Passport Days 1.1 counts more than stays.

• Counters: a new tab where you switch on the counters you need.
• UK absence counter: days outside the UK in the last 12 months, with the threshold for your settlement route (Premium).
• Tax days: day counts for 24 countries, each in its own window, with the commonly cited threshold for 15 (Premium).
• US states: days in all 50 states and DC, with the threshold for the 26 states whose law sets one (Premium).
• A new first-run setup: answer a few questions and your counters are set up for you.
• Tracking health on Today: see whether automatic tracking is working, and what may keep it from noticing a crossing.
• Four new widgets (Premium): Tax days, Country tax days, US state days and UK absence.
• Request a counter and Support, in Settings. An email address is optional.
• Now also in German, Italian, Polish, Ukrainian and Traditional Chinese.
• A Monthly plan, alongside Yearly and Lifetime.

As before, it counts and does not decide: day counts are information, not legal, immigration or tax advice.
