### 4/5 — Not worth it

*2025-06-15, version 1.40*

When i took my photo on the app it said everything was perfect but then when I went to walgreens to pick up the photo the background was shadowy. I was able to get my photo taken and printed there for cheaper and got a better photo.

### 4/5 — Worthless App

*2025-05-28, version 1.40*

No matter how perfect you take the photo, the app generates errors. Waste of time!

### 2/5 — Don’t Waste Your Time

*2023-11-29*

I was hoping to save money by printing photos myself for our family of six. I expected that this app would ensure the pictures met standards and that I’d have to print them through Walgreens for a few dollars each. It was easy to get the pictures done, but then they actually want to charge you more for remote printing than they charge to have the photos taken in person. It makes no sense. If you’re thinking about downloading this app, save yourself the time and money and just have them take the pictures in person.

### 4/5 — Eventually i got all checks.

*2023-04-07, version 1.40*

I had to buy a huge white corrugated plastic sheet at lowes for the background. My dad is in a nursing home. We took the photo with him laying down in the bed and the sheet behind his head. I had to move the bed to eliminate the shadow.

### 3/5 — Good & bad

*2023-04-01, version 1.40*

It's nice to take your own pic & make sure it looks nice. The bad is that you can't enlarge the pic to get a better view and a cam remote doesn't work, so you almost need another person to take the pic. Also, after submitting the pic to Walgreens there is no email notification. Made me uncomfortable until I went to Walgreens later and they did confirm a printout.

### 2/5 — 17.99 to have your picture printed!

*2022-12-12, version 1.40*

So it costs the same whether you use someone’s time in the store to take your photo or take it yourself. Would be REAL nice if that was made clear upfront. I appreciated the checks the app did so I will give it an extra star for that. And I’d have had my photos printed by Walgreens if it was in the $3-4 range. But absolutely not to 17.99 when it costs 0.38$ for a printed 4x6 there. What a rip-off!

### 3/5 — Good app but prevents user from getting a digital copy of the photo.

*2022-04-17, version 1.40*

I want to be able to download a digital copy of the photo but there is no option for doing that.

### 2/5 — Just go in person

*2022-02-25*

I gave this 2 stars instead of one because it was easy to use, but I would recommend not wasting your time and just going in person. There’s a big checklist of requirements for passport photos and this app had them all, except that it didn’t do the best job verifying them. It took a couple tries and we finally got all the boxes checked, only to show up to Walgreens and have them tell me that they needed to be redone because the parameters were wrong. The reason we did the app was because my wife isn’t able to go in person before our appointment for our passports, but now we have to figure out something else. I would definitely recommend saving the time and effort by just going in person.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work the way it should

*2022-02-10*

Photo app is very particular about getting your photo right which is great, however it saves the photo only to this app, which is still fine, but once you send the photo to a Walgreens store your order is canceled and you receive an email. Sending it again resulted in receiving the same email, and again, and then to another store… once that one was canceled, I called the store and was told that the passport photo printers at all Walgreens are down, something to do with software perhaps? I don’t know, but it resulted in serious irritation. Just go to FedEx, it took all of 15 minutes.

### 1/5 — Photos for $14.99 only

*2022-01-29, version 1.40*

Crap. Do not download

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2022-01-29, version 1.40*

Submitted passport photo that app gave full approval, was rejected by state dept. tremendous waste of time and money.

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2022-01-28, version 1.40*

Took the photo with no issues at home. Compliance check stated that the pictures were good to go and compliant. I get to the store and the phot printer in the store prints out the pictures and states that the pictures are not compliant. Big miss with this app here !!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-01-20, version 1.40*

App does not let you fix the background or edit in any way. Can’t save photos to your Camera Roll.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — dosent work!!!

*2024-11-21, version 1.40*

How frustrating you downloaded on your iPad you tried on your phone and it says network error. Every single time tried this for an hour still doesn’t work. I’ll never use Walgreens again.

### 1/5 — Use something else

*2024-07-17, version 1.40*

Photos passed the app. But Walgreens tried to edit them and messed them up. Waited 3 days for Walgreens to edit them and still bad. Not worth the effort.

### 1/5 — WARNING FRADULENT

*2023-10-05, version 1.40*

Not associated with Walgreens don't let the logo on the loading screen fool you.

This app will submit your photo to a Walgreens store, but the Walgreens stores have been instructed to tear up the photos and not sell them. You will not be able to get your photos, so don’t waste your time. If you are lucky, you can take a passport photo right there in the Walgreens.

The Walgreens store manager said that this is a well-known issue that has been escalated to Walgreens corporate.

### 1/5 — Did not work

*2023-09-09, version 1.40*

I send pictures to Walgreen
And they said they never got it

### 1/5 — DO NOT USE THIS APP

*2023-06-26, version 1.40*

Walgreens confirmed that the photos we took through the Walgreens passport photo app complied with US passport requirements. The US passport acceptance facility said they did not. We paid $40 to Walgreens for 2 pics and then had to pay again for 2 pics at the passport facility. Waste of time and money!

### 1/5 — HIGHWAY ROBBERY!! So angry!

*2023-03-01, version 1.40*

I don’t know what I was thinking, using this app. I should’ve known better. But I’m so busy with two little kids and just needed to get it done. So the app itself is simple and easy to take your pic. But that’s where the positives end.

The pic you take is not able to be accessed or downloaded to your device. Instead you HAVE to print through Walgreens, which again would have been fine. But they literally charge $17.99 … EIGHTEEN FREAKING DOLLARS … to print out ONE 4x6 photo with your two passport photos on it. How is this anything but an insane money grab?????? Then when I went to pick them up, they hadn’t even cut the photos out from the 15¢ 4x6 photo. For $18, they’d better be submitting this passport renewal for me and hand delivering it a week later.

Such blatant thievery. DO NOT use this app. Go online and find one of the many sites or applications that will help you take a regulation passport photo and then upload it to the Walgreens photo center and have ONE pic printed at Walgreens for like 25¢.

### 1/5 — Don’t Use This

*2023-01-24, version 1.40*

Photo’s accepted on app, but rejected by the passport office. Essentially making the sole purpose of the app ineffective

### 1/5 — App is garbage

*2022-08-07, version 1.40*

App says photos were Good. Went to the store and told they were no good. Garbage.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-07-06, version 1.40*

After all the effort to take a proper photo, the store would not even print them.

### 1/5 — Never got a good one

*2022-02-25, version 1.40*

This app doesn’t work

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Bit the bullet and went for it

*2024-03-08, version 1.40*

And it was fine. Smooth. No more procrastination.

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2023-04-26*

The app worked well and convenient to use. It gave us all green but the Walgreens associate said he needed to touch up the shadowing some. Great that he did that. My only complaint is the price. $18 for me doing all the work is expensive. Should give a discount as it is less work and time for Walgreens.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2023-01-24*

I tried a few other app and had trouble, even printed them out with terrible results. We found the best lighting in our bathroom and only needed two tries to get it right. We took the photos and had them printed at Walgreens within 20 minutes. The photos came out great!

### 5/5 — Easy Peasy

*2023-01-19*

I enjoyed using this app and I’m surprised others had a hard time with it! I had to retake my photo only once because of user error. After that I took a few more just to have options and got it printed and picked up in just a couple hours. I wish the rest of the passport process was this easy!

### 5/5 — Like a Champ

*2022-11-28*

Downloaded the app, took the photo on my phone, went to my chosen Walgreens and picked up my perfectly sized passport photos. The clerk first said their camera was inop and therefore couldn’t provide a passport photo, until I said I had sent it to the store via the app, to which he replied “oh, that’s a horse of a different color” 🤣

### 5/5 — So Easy!!!!!!!

*2022-05-10, version 1.40*

This couldn’t have been any easier! Download the app, take the picture, send it to Walgreens and pick it up in an hour! Beyond convenient!!!!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2022-03-14, version 1.40*

I attempted to utilize for or five apps to no avail. None of the pictures would be accepted. I used Walgreens Passport App and right away I had the perfect passport picture.

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2021-07-05, version 1.40*

This app made my passport renewal process much faster and simpler. Would definitely recommend this to anyone needing to renew their passport.

### 5/5 — Easy Passport Photo Process

*2021-05-26*

This app is great. I was able to take a passport photo with my iPhone and pick up copies the following day. The Wallgreen’s I used would have had it ready the same day, however, they ran out of proper photo paper. The quality of the photos were perfect and the price was fair. It was a very simple process & convenient to choose a local Wallgreens. I highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Great resource

*2021-04-09, version 1.40*

So much easier than going to get photo taken and it was approved when I turned in my renewal application for my Passport 👍🏼👍🏼
