Explore an Interactive Visa Map
See the world through your passport(s). A color-coded map shows you which countries offer visa-free entry, visa on arrival, e-visa, ETA, or require a full visa — all at a glance. Hold multiple passports? Select them together and the map highlights the best access across all your citizenships. Search any country, tap for details, and report outdated visa data to help the community.

Verify Your Passport in Seconds
Scan your passport's MRZ code with your camera, then tap your phone to the passport's NFC chip. The app cryptographically verifies the chip's data against a trusted certificate authority, confirming your passport is authentic. Hold dual or multiple citizenships? Verify them all.

Join Passport-Based Communities
Post in country-specific communities unlocked by your verified passport. US passport holders join the United States community. EU passport holders unlock EU/EEA discussions. Share text, photos, and GIFs. Like, comment, and reply in threaded conversations. Built-in translation lets you read posts and bios in any language, so borders never get in the way of conversation.

Climb the Passport Power Leaderboard
See how your passport stacks up against the world. Users are ranked by combined passport score — the total number of countries with easy access. Multiple verified passports? Your scores combine. Track your global rank, percentile, and total score.

Set a username, write a bio, and display your verified passports. See real-time online status for other users and browse their post and comment history.

Privacy First. Always.
We never see your passport number or date of birth. They're protected on your device before anything is sent. We ensure every passport verification is legitimate without invading your privacy. Sensitive images are automatically detected and blurred using Apple's Communication Safety framework.

Community Safety
Report posts, comments, or users for spam, harassment, hate speech, or other violations. Block users to hide their content throughout the app. PassportChat is built to be a space where verified people can connect respectfully.

Selectable text in posts and comments
You can now select and copy text in posts and comments. Long-press on any post body or comment to place a cursor, drag the selection handles to highlight the text you want, and copy it from the standard iOS menu. This works across all posts and comments throughout the app.

Real-time visa data updates
Visa information now updates instantly via a live connection to our servers. When someone reports new visa data, you'll see it reflected on the map right away — no more waiting for a delayed refresh. The app maintains a persistent background connection that automatically reconnects if your network drops, so your map data stays current.

Map search UI fix
Fixed a layout issue where country flag emojis would sometimes wrap to a new line unnecessarily in the map search details view. Flags now display inline as expected.

Infrastructure improvements
Under-the-hood server connectivity updates for improved reliability.
