Example banking Spotify gmail etc. also when you use the boss password built in browser you may get error on various site indicating the browser is out of date. Ran into this issue with my bank td bank. There were a couple other site that had similar issues. 2024-02-04 ### 2/5 — Limited integration with iOS apple device *2023-12-06* With that the password manager you gave a prompt to use your password manager on us devices. With password boss you do not have this feature. You need to go back and forth between the password manager app and the portal your trying to access and use copy paste feature. Second pain the app idle timeout is very fast. I didn’t see a option to increase this timeout. On the Mac side and pc side you need to keep the application running and the plug-in running to use the password manager. For such a limited featured product not sure why the product cost so much. I would look somewhere else for a more mature product. ### 2/5 — great for using on a phone, not for an actual mac *2023-07-10, version 5.5.24* It really sucks that this company can't be bothered to release an actual version of thier software for MacOS. They have an intel version but you can't buy an intel mac so I don't see the point of it except for legacy machines. Their web site says to load the software from the Apple App Store, but all that is here is an iPhone/iPad version that clearly isn't designed for an Mac in any form or function. Get with it and if you want to compete in the password management arena, then write propper software for current computers. ### 2/5 — App breaks a lot *2020-08-26* Password Boss is super cool, but the app breaks half the time. When logging into a site using the auto fill function my my iPhone, it’s a coin toss whether it’ll work quickly and simply, or whether it’ll crash and turn my screen green, forcing me to close the app and restart the login process. It keeps doing that with each attempt, so I have to login to the app separately to get the password (if I have permission to see it) and enter it manually. Probably a bug. Fix it and I’ll give the app five stars. ### 3/5 — Nice, but needs improvement. *2020-06-23* This app is nice, but it needs improvement. It works well when filling in passwords on websites. It’s icons are labeled well, so it’s easily navigated by the visually impaired. However, the help file is often unclear, and if there is too much dependence on screenshots, and not enough on detailed description of how to perform tasks. Especially for those who are visually impaired, and cannot see the screenshots. Also, it is not possible to request help, because there appears to be no phone number to call, and when you send emails, you encounter acaptcha, A picture used to verify that you were not a robot. This would be usable, if an audible capture option or added. But without this, it is impossible for a visually impaired person to request help. ### 4/5 — I like it BUT... *2020-03-21* I have the desktop and app versions and like them EXCEPT the fact that the app does not have facial recognition ID. Since the newer iPhones do not have Touch ID, I have to log in my long master password EVERY SINGLE TIME. To the developers, facial recognition ID is a crucial feature, please add soon! What good is a password manager if you save passwords in your pc then are away from your pc and try to login on a phone and you don’t have the login because it doesn’t sync? Issues like: ask me to change the master password, done no confirmation. Windows still open, let’s try again. The password is the same as the existing password error message comes up. So it is changed but not confirmed. Your subscription expired error. Click to renew found my subscription, two minute later subscription expired again. It is not expired as company account so must be a bug again. It is not working with Firefox, not capable to open the website 9 times from 10 attempts. If I open the webs site manually the password boss icon missing from the username/password bars so I need to copy/paste it by hand. Firefox password manager never missed a bit on this. I’m the windows version the drop down menus usually not working. If I click there just nothing happens. Password reset option also not working. I have to contact my administrator who is only able to reset my password if he delete all of my stored passwords in Password boss. I have 700 passwords stored and this software is clearly not capable to any proper work. The whole software is just terrible. I don’t recommend it at all. I cannot log into my own account even though the user name and password are correct and I even get a verification email with the code but still kicked me out and say incorrect credentials. The same login credentials work on my other devices. The app/ Mac/ pc do not sync all together like they are suppose to for a unified password experience and have old or incorrect credentials saved across devices. Downloaded the app- dark web scan nowhere to be found. ### 1/5 — Going to pass on this one *2020-03-23* The iPad and Mac interface simply aren’t smooth or consistent. I am using 2FA. Sometimes it asked for a PIN that was emailed to me, and sometimes it asked for my authenticator password. That’s odd. When a secure note is created, the updates don’t immediately show up after selecting save. Takes about 30 seconds. Speaking of “save” - you select save when you are finished editing a note. And nothing happens. Literally. No feedback at all. Both of these are irritating, but maybe not a dealbreaker, right? When I went to the secure notes section, there were zero notes there! Where did they go? Why can’t I see them?! I close the app and try again. Then I can see the notes. For now. THIS IS a dealbreaker!! I’m not playing the “Did it save?” game after creating something. NOPE. There are other frustrations, too. On both the Mac and iPad apps. It’s just not worth it to list all of them. The MacOS app is just as flaky. I’ve uninstalled both. Deleting my account. I’m DONE. Two last observations: A simple Google search shows this app has been outsourced to Brainvire Infotech Inc., circa 2014. For what that’s worth. Password Boss’ website states they are in Minneapolis, MN. A simple Google maps search reveals the address listed is a UPS store. Wow. A Whois search — nevermind. If you’re still reading this, you get the points I’m making. TRY SOMETHING ELSE. And be sure to test it first. Or you could end up losing your passwords...
