There is only one little criticism I have been trying to delete a old file and I can't do it. I loved this but development stopped a year ago. ### 4/5 — Direction of File Flow - good solution *2013-05-09, version 1.3.2* What I wanted from this product was to be able to take some sensitive files from my large computers (macs/windows machines) and put them on my iphone and have them encrypted and have them password protected. Dropbox will do this easily if you don't care about encryption or password protection. Apple Pages may do this now but I didn't test that. MS Office file password protection isn't going to run on an iphone for a long time. I bought both the mac and iphone version of Password Pad. When I created a Mac Password Pad file, put it on dropbox, and opened it on the iPhone a text editor opened it and I saw a bunch of xml (not what I wanted). Password Pad claims to have a Dropbox interface but I haven't really been able to get it to work by placing files in Dropbox on the Mac and opening them on the iphone. It's easy to mail a Password Pad file off the iphone but that's not direction I'm looking for. So I hope I'm being fair to the product. I am what most people would consider a very technical person. After some playing around I found an answer. e-mail you mac password pad file to your iphone. When you see the attachment, hold your finger on it, and and "Open With" box will come up. On my iphone Password Pad was an Open With option. When you choose password pad to open it it will place the file in the Device section of Password Pad but it doesn't open that. You can go to the Device section and open it with iphone Password Pad. ### 1/5 — Glitches Galore *2013-04-03, version 1.3.2* Freezes. Crashes. Forgets passwords. And syncing issues. It's functionality is super-simple. Which is why I was disappointed that its "search" feature doesn't work. With so few features available, one would think that ALL of them would work flawlessly. The failure of one feature makes me wonder whether or not the encryption feature is also working. How would I know? Now I'm reluctant to use it for what I really wanted, which was to store website logonIDs and passwords. ### 1/5 — Doesn't work properly 💩 *2012-10-21, version 1.3* I bought both versions to sync between my mac and my phone. The description said it sync'ed over iCloud. Every time I move a note from my phone to iCloud I get 'Cocoa error 512'. Don't bother getting this 'til it's fixed. ### 5/5 — Pretty good, but no landscape mode *2012-07-29, version 1.3* I just started using this app, so I don't have a ton of experience with it yet. So far, I like it. I started a note on my macbook pro, opened and edited it on my iPhone, and then viewed the changes back on my mac. The sync with iCloud is pretty much instantaneous. My only complaint so far is that there's no landscape mode. I think that landscape mode is far easier to type using, so this is important to me. Other than that, the app is great! This started two weeks ago and the developer is unreachable and there is no update in the App Store. Cannot access information. It was simple and I could keep passwords for ALL of my products. Bank accounts, products registration number, safes, software, etc. My only problem is that there appears to be no easy way to upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4 and 1.4 has the compatibility with Apple 10.0 Other than Apple sending me notices I need to upgrade or lose compatibility with 10.x I have several pages of passwords and do not wish to lose or have to reenter them! So I'll limp along until the developer figures out a way to update the software! ### 5/5 — I like it fine. *2014-11-15, version 1.3.2* No fields, just a simple blank page. Each file gets its own password. Excellent for private notes of some length. There is a companion app for Mac, and you can share files between them using cloud, Dropbox, and good old iTunes file sharing. Why anybody would want to use the Cloud or Dropbox for sharing private files is beyond me, but those choices are available for whomever wants them. No problems so far. Everything is simple and works well. Addendum: Novmber 6, 2014. If you email a password pad file as a way of syncing between devices, what you get is a .txt document showing a lot of code. On the Mac, you have to download the .txt file, and change the suffix to .pwdp . Then you will have a Password Pad file that you can use on your Mac. On iOS devices, you can usually open in. But, if you do not see the option to open in the Password Pad app, you can either open in or paste the text file into any of the file management documents (like Docs by Readdle, but there are some other good ones, too). Once you are there, you can similarly change the suffix to .pwdp, and then your document will open in Password Pad. ### 5/5 — Awesome does what it claims *2013-11-08, version 1.3.2* I use this for all my saved passwords. It is great that I can store encrypted files both locally as well as in the cloud. The cloud feature is great as I can access my encrypted docs from my iPad, my MAC, as well as my phone. Recently I ran into a challenge where auto-rotation was not working on my iPad. I contacted their support via an online form, they responded fairly quickly, and had an updated functional version available quickly.
