### 2/5 — Considering..

*2026-06-17, version 2.6*

I’m still new to the app and might be overlooking it. Does the app not allow to add more than 2 collections?

### 2/5 — Ridiculous pricing model

*2026-05-25, version 2.6*

The app has been ruined by the removal of features that were free. Now you have to subscribe for £9.99 a year in order to use more than a limited number of pallets. Of all the apps to have a subscription with, this is one of the more pointless. They should have just made the app a one-time purchase, and even then made it just £3.99 or something.

### 2/5 — Uhh the iPhone version of collection.

*2026-01-13, version 2.4.1*

I can’t seem to create a collection on my phone it’s really weird…

### 5/5 — Greatest Of All Time

*2024-07-30, version 2.3.3*

Create a palette from a picture.

### 5/5 — Simple and very useful tool

*2024-07-07*

Nice tool for managing your color palette, including sincronization among devices belonging to Apple ecosystem.
Recommend that!

### 5/5 — Keeps me On Brand!

*2024-06-28, version 2.3.3*

I love having a consistant color pallet through my videos. This helps me easily keep to my brand colors!

### 5/5 — Comme un pupitre de chef d'orchestre

*2024-04-26*

Pastel est très pratique et ergonomique pour gérer les chartes graphiques de mes sites.

### 4/5 — very nice but...

*2024-04-05, version 2.2.6*

very nice and lets u easily access all the colours but u have to pay for more stuff other than that absolutely amazing and also it doesn't show the colour you have to kind of guess it because the slider covers it up (4.8/5)

### 5/5 — awesome!!!

*2024-03-21*

great for web dev.
thx ;)

### 5/5 — Zoom in colour extraction from photo pane

*2024-03-16*

When extract colour from photo from a small area it is hard to pick colour. Please add option to zoom to that area and pick colour precisely.

### 3/5 — Huuuhhh???

*2024-03-10, version 2.2.8*

I feel like there’s no point of this game like u CANT EVEN MAKE A PICTURE??!! It’s just color pallets you don’t get to use them at all like WHAT?? So people please look at this before you get this app because it not that good.

                         💖MAGMAG💖

### 5/5 — Pretty cool, but bit limited

*2024-02-17*

I like this app but it is a bit limited in what options it gives for example when creating wallpapers from the colors. I would like a gradient option and some parameters to tweak like angle, random seed etc. Otherwise it makes collecting colors a breeze.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2024-02-16, version 2.2.6*

I have been using this a lot recently to help with my app colour scheme design. The ability to paste the colour code straight in to my SwiftUI code has been super helpful. Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Pallettes disappear and data is lost

*2024-01-11*

This app is pretty much unusable because it will lose palletes that you make. I see other reivews reporting the same issue with responses from the dev to reach out to them. I emailed the developer, but haven't heard back.

### 3/5 — Not so great

*2023-12-29*

Trying to generate colors in general is fine, but deleting a color or palette you've made that you don't like, for example, doesn't work. And use is simply basic for a designer.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Is this app a scam?

*2024-09-18, version 2.3.6*

No introductions or links to same. Unusable in my opinion. Negative reviews are the most recent date, but listed after much older reviews.

### 1/5 — All my palettes disappeared

*2024-08-08*

I've been using Pastel for several years to keep track of the color palettes for my software design projects. I went to reference one of my custom palettes today and all my custom palettes were gone even though they were all there last week. Apparently other users have experienced the same.

I'll have to spend many hours of going through my projects to recreate my palettes. You can be sure I won't be recreating them in this app. Never again.

### 1/5 — what is this?

*2024-05-10, version 2.3.3*

can't import an image to pull a pallet from? if it exist no easy way to find it. did adobe patent the user experence?

### 1/5 — Carefully curated palettes can disappear at any moment

*2024-01-09, version 2.2.8*

This is the second time I have lost every single palette I created in the app. This is 100% unacceptable.

### 1/5 — Don’t trust

*2023-10-14, version 2.2.6*

It will delete all your palettes

### 1/5 — Confusing

*2023-09-27, version 2.2.6*

No instructions. Added wallpaper widget but nothing I tap in it does nothing. No idea how I’m supposed to use the wallpaper feature or what it even does.

### 1/5 — Bug - Erase your palette...

*2022-09-08*

I would like to use pastel for my website but when i quit the application, the app just erase my work...

### 1/5 — Custom palettes costantly disappear, no real product support or documentation

*2022-02-05*

I recently purchased and downloaded this app a few hours ago to my Mac Pro running macOS Monterey. I spend an hour creating several custom palettes I put into a "collection". Suddenly, all of my palettes were gone. The "collection" was still there, but empty. I tried a few tests (making more colors, palettes, collections, open/close the app after creating them), and the palettes would either disappear out of the collection, or the palettes might still be there, but empty of colors. There is no real support for tis product. A webiste/support linke in the Apple App Store goes to webpage, which in turn, has a link back to the App Store. There is a Twitter link, where I suppose that is where we're supposed to learn how to use this app and get support. But I don't care to use Twitter, certainly not for support on a product I spent money on. I see no way to get real support nor a refund. Hopefully others are not having similar loss of time and productivity with this app.

**Developer response:** Hi SomDowns,

Sorry to hear about your experience. We have a support link on the website that lets you get support via email; feedback@highcaffeinecontent.com. Twitter is for providing realtime support, best for minor issues or questions you just need a quick answer to. Email is preferable for crash logs and the like. You can, of course request a refund through the App Store (https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT204084), as it handles everything to do with payment processing.

It sounds like there might be an iCloud syncing issue at play here (see also https://9to5mac.com/2022/01/24/icloud-syncing-issues-are-plaguing-third-party-apps-as-apple-stays-silent/), but I'd love to hear if you're still running into the same problems. Please reach out if you'd still like to debug/fix this, but I totally understand if you're just happier to get a refund as per the steps above.

Hope that helps!

### 1/5 — Not Happy

*2021-10-28, version 1.1.8*

I just installed this and it will not let me import a photo on MacOS Monterey or the latest iPad update as I cannot see a top menu bar as is on the Mac. Can you please look at this as it is of no use to me as is. DRM

### 1/5 — No way to analyze colors from photos

*2021-06-28, version 1.1.7*

I see no option to do this in the app and no way to connect with app support via their “website”. Not impressed.
